Nice paint job! Finally a video where someone painted then cleared without painting, sanding it off, painting, sanding it off, painting, sanding it off, painting, sanding it off, painting. Then sand and buff, sand and buff, sand and buff.
Shops that do that really achieve nothing other than fooling customers into charging 3x the hours they needed to be. That and risking a whole lot more shrinkage later on.
Thanks for the reply. I’m a first time truck restoration guy. I would really like to paint it myself but with all the different techniques you can find on the internet it’s hard to decide what to do. I like your technique, I’m going with it. Thanks
@@dalemccary6526 when you get to the final sand and prepping for paint look up my Instagram page and shoot any questions you have on there. Happy to help out! Or if you’re near northwest Ohio I’d be happy to help ya spray it. I don’t charge much by all comparison. @buff_bros_restorations
Beautifull work! I have done restorations for over fourty years and iam now retiared so iam still at it. I just found your channel and I really enjoy it. Keep up the great work!
Joe Estes thank you! Check out my Instagram page @buffbrosrestorations. I hardly post on UA-cam as it just takes sooo much time to edit and film. Thanks for the kind words.
I am painting a 51 chevy cab almost the same color , rock moss green on the cab and bed jet black on fenders and running boards ,I am using single stage paint we are doing some advertising art on the doors
I want to know step by step what paint primer and what other stuff u used in the painting I'm very new to paint job but I love your work and I want to paint same like that
Polyester primer sanded 80 grit, 180, 320, 400. Epoxy sealer. Wait an hour for it to flash. 3-4 coats of basecoat. Wait 8-12 hours for it to flash. Tack it off. 5-6 coats of clear stepped out in between each coat until it is just tacky. (You’ll be spraying clear for 4 hours if you wait the right times). If you don’t, you’ll get solvent pop, die back, runs, etc. follow Tyler Krause and the refinery on Instagram. I follow all their steps to a T
I’m not sure on the color code. The customer just came in and picked one from our color deck. The paint was sherwin Williams. While it is good stuff I now use RM for most of my jobs and Limco for some of the more budget friendly jobs and am super impressed with the quality you can get from this product.
Sorry! I have been so busy since I made this I just don’t have the time to put into all of it. You can follow my Instagram page though @buffbrosrestorations
Well… firstly it was my first time spraying that clear I think or maybe I sprayed it once before so I was still getting used to it but also, I was working at a body shop and the filters needed changed. Martin senour basecoats really clog up the filters fast.
So what happened to letting us watch you take a cab in the engine out man that you're just like all the rest of man you start out real good then you skip to the end of it
