Lairdframe owner here. I sent my frame back twice: when I first got it the seatstay bridge rubbed the tire! Mike paid for the shipping back to to him, removed the excess material, and sent it right back. Sure, I was bummed about the initial problem but his customer service on that was outstanding. Later, saw a hairline crack in the weld of the (integrated) seatpost clamp. This time I paid to ship it but he fixed it immediately. Actually he modified it for me by adding material for a traditional seatpost clamp, no charge, and sent it right back. Good to go! If I ever break this frame I’m going straight back to him.
This right here is why I'm subscribed to you. You pick a topic, do an amazing amount of research, and put it together in a clear concise way that is non biased and extremely informative. Props to you sir.
When Standard started out they used to do a lifetime warranty, they certainly did on the Shorty and Lengthy frames. It was one of their selling points.
My friend actually had a good interaction with the Kink Warranty. I actually got him into bmx and he ordered a complete bike from Kink, just for the fork to almost completely fold in a week. After some proof of purchase work he was sent replacement Mission forks free of charge.
I've cracked a Cult frame and a Premium frame. Both after 3+ years of heavy riding. I felt I got my moneys worth out of them so I didn't both looking into warranting them as I understand nothing last forever and BMX brands need to make money too
I had a Terrible One Barcode that came with an ovalized head tube. This was many years ago when Taj was involved. He refunded my money via a check. I bent a drop out on an S&M Bennett (also many years ago). Sean McKinney replaced the dropout but I had to paint it.
I bought a fit and bent it in the first month took it back to the bike store they sent me a upgraded frame. Also had a online purchase of the hoffman condor and cracked it took it to a hoffman dealer they replaced it both companies are very good I now am a riding a fit
I bought sunday broadcaster very lightly used off of ebay for $190, I rode it for 2 years and ended up cracking it, shot sunday an email and got a new one for $180.
I bought a Total BMX frame a few years back. It only has a one year warranty but I ride casually and don’t do crank arm/ frame grinds so it’s been lasting me a while anyway. Edit: I would buy a new frame/ build a second bike but can’t stand anything shorter than 13.6+ chain stay or tires wider than 2.5

Great video, Brant! Super-informative! Sunday (Lifetime) is definitely the standout. I remember YEARS ago when Hoffman were more popular, I was unimpressed with their warranty. Bent the George but the SD4 and Flash held up just fine. This will be a bit long.. A warranty probably isn't something most will have to deal with on any frame or fork that comes with lifetime coverage but it's fantastic peace of mind that a company has such confidence in their products. Personally, I would never purchase or ride a frame that isn't 100% Chromoly and featuring a one-piece steerer tube on the fork. Feel like you only bend or snap one set of forks and then you have to move onto one-piece for the rest of your life for a mixture of confidence and safety. Looking over 2021 complete bike releases, I see a lot of bikes featuring a Chromoly downtube or maybe the whole front triangle is Chromoly and I accept this in the cheaper to mid-range bikes. Though, I see some big names releasing bikes that have quite high price tags yet still feature a frame that isn't 100% Chromoly or surprisingly worse, is 100% yet comes with a 2-piece steerer tube fork. May sound like I'm being overly picky but what I'm trying to point out at the end of all this is that you want to really look deep when considering a new ride. The cost, the warranty fine print, frame geometry, 100% Chromoly frame and 1-Piece steerer tube fork, large tyre clearance and internal chain tensioners. If an option, you may want to consider drive side if you grind on the same side as your sprocket. An extra $200-400 might make all the difference down the track. Personally, I went with a 2020 coral red WTP Battleship at a quarter of the price off during a sale. It ticked all the boxes for me and is legitimately packed with parts you can feel confident and rely on. The end :P
Haha yep you’re 10000% right in all of that though. That’s why I refuse to recommend anything less than full chromoly completes to anyone on this channel. It’s just a waste of money to go less than that for someone who’s serious about learning to ride bmx. A kid just riding around or who isn’t sure, sure

So it’s quite an experience lol
Hi Brant! Thanks for ur video, I just bought a fly bikes frame with a lifetime warranty, what are your thoughts on them? I honestly don't understand their policy. I hope you could answer:)
I own a Federal Churchill frame for almost 6 years now and have crashed several times and have abused it learning hop barspins and currently learning hop whips. I also own the last Cult OSv4 Trey Jones colorway when that released and it is taking the same abuse. When I got the Federal frame I was surprised to read the warranty card, as for the Cult frame not sure if the LBS misplaced the warranty card. I trust any legit BMX company with the parts they make so I am not that worried, also BMX isn't really that expensive (if you look out for sales and good deals on marketplaces like ebay or facebook) even with my small income, I would be pissed if I won't get a good warranty if I was forking out for those high-end mountain bikes or road bikes.

Very interesting Brant, I have to say that the warranty wasn't really something I was worried about when I built my new bike just went on looks and geometry. And the only warranty issue that I ever faced was way back in the late nineties I had a DK frame that the paint flaked right off right out of the box and they didn't give two shits.
Interesting how three of the companies at the bottom of the list are British. I.e. Federal, tallorder and radiobikes. Definitely something to do with the current recession they're experiencing. Apparently their worst one in 300 years😲. Thanks for making this Brant. Awesome content as usual.
Got a wtp battleship, chainstay bent on a missed grind . They will only take it back if the chainstay fails . I plan on taking it in for paint though becuase the trans paint sucks and its literally chipping away ,I love the frame though
Hey Brant, I don’t know if you’ll find this interesting at all, but I was reading the newest issue of Pull magazine (USABMX’s official magazine), and I flipped a page and there was a full page Kink ad with Nathan Williams doing something down a big down ledge. You’re both right. Laid made frames for Mongoose. Some that you could actually buy. There’s a dude around here who had one and it was actually kinda cool to see
Odyssey was my best experience with warranty’s. I’ve broken a few pairs of their cranks and they were super cool about it. My worst experience was with wethepeople when I broke my madmax frame i couldn’t get a hold of anyone and they never wrote me back. My experience with sandm was decent, when I bent my dak frame they offered me a new one at cost which is cool. I honestly don’t care about warranty’s. I buy a frame with the intention that it’s gonna get messed up and I love getting and trying out new frames from different companies. I would hate to ride the same frame or companies frames for my “lifetime”.
Glad to hear about the good experiences there. I’ve definitely heard of s&m and fit being good throughout the years. This video is made with the younger riders in mind. The ones or anyone really who could not be able to ride for months having to save up for a new frame after buying something with a BS warranty and breaking it
@@Brant_Moore absolutely. I was there once before just like most riders. I’m thankful that I’m in a position that I can ride and try out new parts and frames, not everyone has that ability.
I bet Bob Haro would hate that definition of riding without leaving the ground, I think his selling of the brand was a mistake. And Matt Hoffman?, seriously dude?, you're the big air, first 900° no hander guy!, come on, I wanted to get a Hoffman so badly, he's my childhood hero, but not anymore. Looking for a Sunday then. Also, the terms of these legalese warranties can tell you a lot of how they approach their manufacturing process, it wouldn't be weird to find a sketchy warranty followed in slightly worse materials to save a penny.

@@chriscorcoran1610 it’s his la famila frame
You’re both right.
Laid made frames for Mongoose. Some that you could actually buy. There’s a dude around here who had one and it was actually kinda cool to see
@@Brant_Moore so kevin peraza doesn’t ride a actual mongoose frame then ?
Damn was just thinking about this last week
Odyssey ?
Verde: 2 Year Warranty On Aftermarket Frames
Standard > all
I bet Bob Haro would hate that definition of riding without leaving the ground, I think his selling of the brand was a mistake.
What about Redline ?
Do they even make freestyle frames anymore?
As far as I know they do. Like the redline raid an redline recon.
All of our aftermarket Radio Bikes Frames & Forks are backed by a full LIFETIME GUARANTEE. Full info can be found HERE - radiobikes.com/lifetime-guarantee/
Thanks for leaving that info. Couldn’t find an easy link to that on the site
i was wondering if there is any warranties on shadow or if you have any reviews on the hundreds and shadow frame
Shadow doesn’t make a frame
@@Brant_Moore yes they do i have one only 6/800 where made
@@Brant_Moore love the videos tho wish i had some dirt jumps near me like those watch almost everyday you got me to get back into bmx
That is a completely different case then and is probably not on their website.
federals is so shitty because they hada run of washington frames, and one other model i cant remmeber , that had an integrated seat post clamp defect and they all snapped. no one veer got them replaced either
Interesting!
I do not believe all Sunday frames are lifetime, I think the street sweeper doesn’t qualify
I like the trade in idea tho, people change their riding preferences so much by the time something happens to their current frame, they may want something different anyway and in order to get it at a discount sounds pretty cool and creates good brand loyalty
Did you miss the part where I literally said that not all of them fall under the 41 thermal lifetime warranty?! Haha
@@Brant_Moore must have, was listening at work and messaging employees
ANYTHING about ENCORE BMX COMPANY?
Never heard of them
@@Brant_Moore check them OUT, I love my ENCORE CODA 24INCH BMX,
autum bikes...germany I think....
Unfortunately i cant paint my wtp frame...i can me soundwave thought but its cracked and i have lost the receipts 😔
So basically just buy a Sunday.
I meannnn. Haha
If you care about warranty, it’s certainly not a bad move to get a 41 thermal Sunday frame
How did you get free stuff from dixion

I like kinks
Eastern go out of business finally?
I haven’t even seen that name in years Lmao I’d be surprised if they are still in business.
Nope actually brand direct now. Better quality. Semi production frame and bars in titanium. Only way to get freestyle frame with removable mounts in ti.
@@bmxriderforlife1234 lairdframe makes custom ti frames
@@nate2966 welded on mounts and tabs only. no removable set up as an upgrade and no drop outs with build in tensioners.
also cheaper then a standard laird frame and geo is pretty decent and standard, 75 headtube 11.5 bb 13.5 rear end centered in the drop out so with room to remove a chain. slammed its like 13.3 or 13.2
its also only 1900 vs 2000 and probably alot more if you want removable gyro tabs cable guide and stop and brake mounts. also comes stock with ti brake hardware for the posts and bolts. rest is standard.
using one of the ti reapers on my next build same with the ti bars. ti laird forks RNC 22mm 165mm ti cranks freenight hub with custim ti driver and axle and a far east cycles ti internals alloy shell front hub.. gonna be pretty and light once i do the custom anodizing jobs on everything. also gonna have pegs and a gyro and a custom seat. clone of an aitken but modified a bit, so basically a junior but pviotal.
honestly how many people are used to a super light bike. better to actually go relatively standard with geo till youre used to shit and better to save money till you know certain things will survive. ti welds are notoriously iffy. manufacturing defect warranty on ti bits is useful. and they garuntee full weld penetration. its owned by an mtb and general bike manufacturer now that also runs some brands. not the same old Russian mig manufacturer turned bike manufacturer eastern originally used to make ti shit. and new owners and less holes.
You must have nothing going on right now huh
As I sit in the lodge at Woodward eating breakfast before riding, responding to a hater who really has nothing going on...hahaha
You got me 🥴 keep up the good work you clown
@@Brant_Moore I don't know why they bother 😂
Nothing going on right now apparently......hahahaha
