I played the Bf109 E7 recently after watching DEFYN’s GE discount guide. Popped a 200% SL booster for my first match and got 8 kills. 700k SL. It’s honestly a bit disgusting playing lower than like 8.0 air. Nobody knows what they’re doing anymore. Though to be honest people barely know what they’re doing higher up either.
This is one of the unfortunate downsides of Gaijin reducing RP requirements across the board and pushing into Gen 4. While reducing RP costs was a necessary and overall good decision, new players basically skip through prop tiers now and never learn the fundamental air combat skills of energy management and positioning, let alone actually learning an individual plane and its guns. Prop tier is a curb stomp now when it used to be the place for the highest skill expression in the game. Hate to see it.
I play the Russian Yak-1B, I love it! At 3.0 it's fantastic, it's low ammo count makes it not new player friendly, but it handles so well, hits well and is a tiny hard target to hit.

It also doesn’t have the choice to equip tracers, and as a new player I want to commit murder after I deplete my ammo within 2 seconds without getting a hit
You know why lower tier seems more fun imo? You are less likely to fight against planes that just absolutely wreck you! The Br‘s are so decompressed that some planes that literally just get better guns are sometimes 1 br above their „weaker“ twins… so much more balanced than High tier
Low tier being around 4.0 damn that hits hard. I just started playing WT again with a new account, my highest BR being 3.7. Back when I playedbefore , 6.7 or something was the highest, meaning 4.0 was actually even higher than mid tier lol

I like low tier. You get a few good dogfights every once in a while and don't have to worry about getting radar missiled from 5 jets you havent spotted yet.
I’m still trying to figure out all the missiles and stuff at top tier. I mean when I first started playing the saber was top tier and everything was about dog fighting now top tier is getting hit by an f14 7 countries away or something like that. I remember playing some of my first rb games and enjoying the rip mechanic and all the new limitations you don’t have in arcade. Mid to low tier is definitely the tiers with the highest skill cap just because a jet with good missiles is just about not being seen and hitting someone who isn’t paying attention. Low tier requires you to know how to actually fly the plane half decent to get kills. Best tiers.
I love seal clubbing in the C.205, or my spaded German C.202 from release. For higher props, I love the griffon spits, altho I use the FR XIVe which isn't available anymore.
i started playing in low br cuz i was bored of the late jets dying in less than 2 minutes and i noticed that noobs really just go for their first target, wasting all their energy and no matter wich plane i am using, i can easily just boom and zoom the whole team
As someone who’s started getting to jets lately, and working into 8.3-8.7 where you start seeing air to air missiles more, it’s been super frustrating cuz I feel like if I lose awareness for even half a sec, I get missiled every time. And rn stock grinding the A-4E has been total cancer. Taking routine breaks to go back to props in the 4.0-5.0 range has been so nice tho. Especially in my Yak-3’s and even my skyraiders ground pounding while still capable of a couple air kills
You should play Low Tier. ESPECIALLY if you never played the game, bought yourself into high/top tier and are frustrated because you can't get better...
It is so surreal. for me, 4.0 is like high tier. I play Air for several months now and I get my ass handed to me at anything higher than 1st rank. I am grinding the event Yak-3 with 3.7 planes and I am scared every time I see enemy plane. I watch videos to learn, but then I get into match and I am unable to get my guns on anybody, so I just hover above everybody randomly trying to dive on people. Usually fail horribly when trying to hit them. I am already proficient in Ground and somewhat Naval, so I thought I will get a hang of Air quickly, but I still feel like going against the wall. The Air just feels so abstract in many aspects.
I enjoy watching planes and want a CAS plane but the one time I tried air RB was just terrible. Every match I spent 5-7 minutes flying to the fight and climbing to dive onto one person and then got about one minute fighting before dying to the guy who spent 6-8 minutes climbing and dove onto me
Makes for interesting video. But just to remind the RB Fanboys who think they "dog fight" .... You can a) see all your enemies, b) can tell their distance and aircraft type and flight vector, c) point a mouse in the direction you want to "fly" to, d) identify hits and their effects on targets, e) and you can look up pilots and their career profile in flight and you still think you're "dog fighting"... No ..not really ... but it must be fun though ...so many if you do it ... :) Can't discount the fun factor... that is important for sure!
Yeah low-mid tier is the most fun part of WT, no matter the vehicle type. Wish they'd give us more missing low-mid tier planes like the Mosquito bombers...... And update the models of stuff like the 190s and Zeros.

@@DzinkyDzink Regular Yak-9 is great too, but Yak-1B has a more fighter-oriented airframe that is also lighter, giving it an edge over the Yak-9 in fighter capability.
Back when the teams were nation specific Foreign Premiums, especially La-5FN and Yak-1B, were a major addition boon because they could even out a match up. Nowadays it's just X favourite plane but it helps you grind SLs.
I do miss those days, but wait times really are better... and i'd say 10% (+/- depending on br) of my battles are historical match ups. Back in the old days, the US would get wrecked by the IJN on pacific maps. Guys were maintaining like 90% win rates and shit... Bring back more historical battles, and bring back.. hitlerbolt interceptor spawns :^)

The biggest offender is Saipan where the Japanese are on a timer to destroy the landing craft before they deploy the tanks and win the match on tickets. Problem is you have to go low and slow, making yourself vulnerable to BnZ. Also Japanese teams are full of fighters with very limited A2G capabilities. Early jap fighters get 200 or less rounds of cannon and the 7.7 can’t harm the landing craft. Once the tanks are deployed it’s game over, a jap fighter has zero means to destroy them.

I really don't like low tier. Ok, it depends, I like the Swedish J-21's. They are really fun and the guns are easy to aim for me. But that aside I just don't enjoy them. I enjoy the jets much more.
low tier is fun tier for a reason, but it can become unfunny very quickly: it's not fun to play the most op machine against noobs and it's not fun to play your casual relaxing game against the sweatiest sweatlord in his Ki-27/he100/xp-50. the most fun are decent, but not op machines like the d.520 or ms.410 (yes, i love playing france) for chill rounds or really bad planes like the sakeen or f4f-4 just to challenge yourself. yeah sure planes like the p-39 (any p-39) or ki-44 can also make for chill games, but i feel as if it's not uncommon to fly them, get 2, 3 kills and be annoyed since you could have had 2, 3 kills more if this or that went differently.
Hey you mentioned in that 50k qna video that you wanted to do some low tier gameplay with historical backgrounds. You also mentioned you wanted to do some colabs with other creators. Have you considered reaching out to @TimsVariety and see if he is interested? He also reached 50k just the other day and regularly uploads banger reviews on planes and tanks of all ranks and includes their historical significance. Could be a way for you both to reach new audiences and introduce new elements into your videos

I just played this thing, got two gun kills in a 5v1 and then got two maneuvering kills(I made a Ki-43 shoot a P-40, he then rammed into the dead P-40)
My favorite prop to play is the a6m5 ko, because you just win every time if you get someone turning, it’s definitely a brain off plane and you get almost 10k SL per kill so it’s a decent money grinder too. Glad I bought it before it went off Sale
The only downside of the A6M5 ko is that I skipped ranks 1-5. I will have to eventually go back to all those vehicles I skipped, because there are some iconic ones there. But yeah, the pacific pack with the A6M5 was too good of a deal, no wonder gaijin discontinued it. For a measly 7.5 gaijin coins you got a very good rank 4 premium alongside two weeks of premium time and a decent chunk of GE.

I was basically able to grind through ranks 1-5 in about 4 days with it. The only thing I hate about it is its speed, people will just run away if they’re smart, but some people tend to not be smart at 5.0 so it’s fine.
How do UA-camrs consistently find enemies whose only defensive maneuvers are “fly slightly to the left” and “fly slightly to the right”? When I get behind anyone it seems like they immediately start face rolling their keyboard/mouse testing how much they can fuck with the instructor without hitting the dirt.
Low tier is such a guilty pleasure for me. Luckily it's really only fun for me as a palate cleanser for a few games at a time. I don't want to ruin people's experiences learning the game too often.

I had a similar thing, but with the jap Corsair - 7 kills in my first game, and every one of them was like level 15 I felt so bad 😂

120 rounds of the current ShVak damage is plenty. Plus, your secondary is a berezin. It’s got quite a bit of ammo in my opinion.

Long time ago the Leopard 1 was peak ground and for air it was a battle between CL-13s, MiG-15bis, and F2 Sabres. Good times.

Years of JU288 spam and constant Pearl Harbor Historical Battle events have molded me into the perfect low to mid tier killing machine

French Yak-3 is one if my all time faves, I play it for fun as much as to farm with it.

I always thought the fm was bogus on some of the yaks. I mean casually pulling 11gs with a wooden airframe... yeah ok. Strangely survivable as well
