I love your videos. Helped me a LOT in setting my home studio. I bought and returned lots of equipment, and settled with Shure SM7b and Rodecaster Duo! You really get what you pay for TBH 😅
Shure all the way. You can very clearly hear the difference with solid headphones. But the Elgato ain't bad. The Shure is definitely MY PERSONAL favourite, because its very podcasty and I like listen to voices over that one AND it pics up background noises much less than the Elgato which is a HUUUUUUGE plus for my environment. Germany cities are basicly a second india, the noise polution is completely insane.
Help there, I’m buying and Sm7b what would you consider the best stand alone interface for it ? I’m not a musician is mainly for content creation and voiceovers, thank you so much
@@kettnercreative I was set on the wave XLR, is the noise from the pre amps to loud ? I saw a graph taut was something like -131db, is that good enough to not be an issue?
@@charbelLife It's not an issue. I still think it's a great preamp, especially if you're in the Elgato ecosystem already. if you hate the noise, you can always add a Cloudlifter, etc. But IMO, it's not an issue.
@@kettnercreative I’m not, but since I’m a noob in audio, the fact that it has 75gb of gain + free VST on wavelink had me sold, I was just curious about if the noise would be too significant, here (I’m from Brazil) a cloudlifter is literally more expensive than most interface, I appreciate you taking your time to talk to me and explain, I truly enjoy your videos
@@kettnercreative I saw you mentioned 2i2 and not the solo, is there a reason ? Both solo(4th gen) and XLR are the same price currently here, but I saw somewhere that the solo doesn’t have 69db of gain, that only the 2i2 does, is that true ?
@@waberoid i could be wrong but goxlr software team was laid off so there no updates going for it and if there no updates windows at some point won't support it i heard there way around it but tbh probably better just get new mixer

Scarlett 2i2, Elgato Wave XLR, or Rodecaster Duo. All of them have enough gain to power the SM7B directly.

this really helped me i have SM7B and planning getting wave xlr mixer since goxlr won't be usable
