My first BMX. Looks superb. I’ve recently bought the 40th anniversary Tuff Burner & joined a few FB groups. I’m almost 53 & it’s taken me back 40 years.
Thank you. A big part of my enjoyment is sharing my experience of doing it, and the mistakes, so that it might help others in some way. Plenty more to come 😁
Absolutely stunning bike. I had an extra burner back in the day and it was the best Christmas present ever. I'm restoring a mark 1 red and black burner 1983 with my 10 year old son Jake. We're going to bring it to shows here in Ireland in the summer ☀️ Anyway again , fantastic job 👏
Hi Anthony, thanks for commenting. It was a labour of love this one. I love that you’re doing one with your son, that’s wonderful. It’s a slippery slope, before you know it you’ll be taking four or five to the shows 😂😂😂 Cheers Neil
I had one of those things with white Z rims on and a few other add ons such as a nice Tioga bar clamp with hmmm? bars and Bear Claw p[edals. Thing was minted mate. Nice job you did there.
My best mates had a Mongoose and a Supergoose. Great old days mashin about doing drop off's from containers and busting yourself up bad at times. haha. My one buddy snapped his Skyway TA dropping off from a lorry container.
I found a mk1 red frame with forks in the woods behind my house last week. Its seen better days. I'd say its deffinately been there for at least 20 years. Yellow stickers are clinging on for dear life.
@@chasetherainbow its solid believe it or not. I was so happy when I found it. I've rescued it from certain death and I'll probably have a go at restoring it myself.
I’d love to see you work on a Blue , LILO Supersport Tornado. It was my first BMX , replacing my Raleigh Commando. I used to ride 14 mile round trips on it to visit my friends. It came complete with a chain guard and was not built for freestyle. It lasted me 9 years and later in its life we moved from the country to a town with a bmx race track and my bike was undefeated versus the street bmx most kids owned.
Thank you 😊 Someone asked me to sell it to them so I’ll let it go. I’ve got three custom builds that I ride and enjoy(that aren’t for sale). I restore them for pleasure and let them go if someone wants them. I try not lose too much money on each one but I don’t do them to profit. It’s a nice winter hobby.
Fucking guy I’m dying here… Good enthusiasm, looks sharp I had one of these in all black and chrome with gold decals. Cheers from Northwest Calgary, Alberta…my place is almost perfectly between cru Jones’ house (Cochrane, Alberta) and helltrack (bowness park, NW Calgary)
Lol 😂 Thank you, I’m glad you’ve been entertained. Was yours a Raleigh Rampar? The UK versions, like mine, were based on the North American models. Sounds like a cool place to live 😊 Thanks for commenting.
@@chasetherainbow no it was a burner, just a lower end model from norkam lock and cycle in Kamloops for Christmas circa 1990. I had a really nice racing bike at the time I needed something to ride on the Street, wasn’t cheap to replace araya mini rims back in the day
BIG HI from Malta. I like your job mate, but, a self openion if you really like BMX , from da blood, i would never allow restorig some pipes into a classic burner. Im talking about the blue /white bm. That frame has nothing to do with the original one And, its a bit of, not nice let say:) Its like putting a badge of a ferrari on a triumph:)) lol. God bless bro. lol 😂 Which Aero Pro Burner? The Mk1 T3 or the Mk2 T4? What about Mk1 Pro, Mk1 Cromo? Built on Tange and Koizumi frames/forks. Mk2 Cromo? Koizumi/Tange. TAP? Pro Race? - Tange. Then there was the Special Bike Development Unit Team Burner frameset and fork on Reynolds 501 Chromalloy M tubing? Or the Mk2 Ultra on full cromo frame/fork/bars with high end components? Or do you just mean the others? 😂
@chasetherainbow the one I had with tange areo forks not trx was a good bike ,also had a huffy a robinson a pk ripper and a haro freestyle which was crap, heavy and short ,the pk was awsome
@chasetherainbow the geometry on burners was awful ,way to short head angle to slack ,bottom bracket to high ,mild steel heavy ,crap components terrible bars if you ever won a race in the early 80s with one of these you must have had some skills , it got kids interested tho ,I loved bmx since 1980, still follow it now ,it blows my mind how far it has come
@@staffh3815 so you mean the standard Mk1’s then. Yes they were shite. All the ones on Japanese frames were excellent bikes, and the Mk2’s were generally much better too
Loved this. Thanks fella. Hope your channel blows up because it deserves to!
Thank you, I’m really glad that you enjoy my videos. I do it for fun and really enjoy making them too.
It should be ok but be careful hitting the bearing face on the forks. Great content 👌
My First Bmx, googled it and your video came up, what memories I have jumping my mates with plank of wood proped up with 2 bricks.
I would have loved one of these back in the day, it’s taken me forty years to get one 😂
The old plank and bricks combo served us all well.

It’s great isn’t it 😁 Nice to know we’ve another member of The Burner family 👍
It’s fantastic. Instant sub from me😎👍🏻
Awsome build. Love the explanation of parts and tools used. Looking forward to the next line up of burners

Fantastic build, you have made a cracking job there mate, another classic burner saved! Looking forward to the next project👍👍
Thank you, it was a labour of love this one.
Got a Mk1 Mag, a Mk1 Red, and a Mk1 Phase2 Extra in the to-do list 😂 Plenty to come 👍

Great stuff......looking forward to those👍👍😎
Top job there fella! ❤❤❤ Looking at the 'before' pic at the end it looks almost fit for the bin but now it's like brand new. 😊
Cheers youth 👍
I love a lost cause. The worse they are the more rewarding the end result.
@Chase The Rainbow Definitely! I just wish I had the skills. 🤣 I'm good at cleaning stuff but that's as far as it goes. 😄
They’re simple enough, it’s just practice.

Love it. Turned out epic. Now to pull my finger out on mine.

Nice find 😊 If it’s structurally sound it’ll clean up, you can always have it repainted 👍

Look at that what a beauty! My best mate had one of those, I thought it a bit gay next to my night burner lol 😂
@@kidda74 thank you 😊 I love an Extra Burner, but the Mk2 Night Burner is my favourite.
Love it, top job

Las ruedas quedaron muy brillantes, excelente trabajo ahí
Gracias, amigo 😊
Lovely job 👍 Had one as a lad. Currently building a mk2 burner myself for a bit of nostalgia. Did you keep this bike?

Another great looking burner, just starting the restoration of my extra burner, I don’t suppose you know of the paint code for the red?
Thanks Wayne. I really enjoyed this one.
The paint code is RAL3001 Signal Red.
