Who needs sleep when I’ve got your UA-cam channel to binge-watch? Your videos are like the birding equivalent of a suspense thriller-edge-of-my-seat action, feathered drama, and the occasional laugh-out-loud moment. Thank you for all you do to keep us bird nerds inspired and entertained! Your passion and creativity have me glued to the screen Keep up the amazing work
Great birding trip. Lots of new birds to your life list I assume. Rain was giving some challenge but it all worked out well. Enjoyable birding video. 👍
Thanks Guy! 🙂 There were a few nests about which was lovely to see & the one I filmed was quite out in the open of the tree... so that was good for me! I didn't hang around long as I didn't want to bother them... but they didn't seem to really care which was great
Thank you so much! Our cameras have been really good so far. We've had a few ups & downs but we're pretty happy with the quality photos most of the time! 🙂
Looks like another great trip despite the rain, great video and pic's, my usual stomping ground is closed indefinitly due to flooding (winton wetlands )
Thanks Brian! 🙂 It was a great trip. I'd love to go back & spend quality time at a few of the spots but we saw so much. Lots of Lifers! Sad to hear about Winton Wetlands right now! The rain has caused so much flooding & damage! I hope the wildlife will be okay
Love your videos: so well edited. Looking forward to an Eastern Aussie trip in November 2025 before visiting my brother in Melbourne. I am getting some good ideas of places to visit from your posts.
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad that our videos are giving you some ideas on next year's trip to East Australia! If you have any questions or queries about some of the places (or if you would like some more suggestions), please feel free to ask us for any information if we can help 😀 ~ K
I've been thinking about doing a trip down the Murray to do some bird photography, but I don't know the area, so it's really helpful to see all the spots you guys have picked out.
That's so great! 😀 Really glad that the videos are helping identify spots to travel to for birding! Of course it depends on what birds you're interested in seeing & where they have recently been spotted but all the places we've been to have been really interesting.
The rain was a challenge, that's for sure. Glad you succeeded in the end. You have convinced me to upgrade my cameras. I have mostly Sony gear, so will probably go with the A7 iv, as it is super quick with focus.
Thanks Sam! Actually the rain ended up being quite a nice break for me 🙂 So, starting up again after the rain was great! I'm sure you'll enjoy an upgrade with the A7 iv! They are very professional! If I could afford a Sony, I'd love the A1 with the 200-600mm lens!! (we did give Sony a go when we were buying camera gear as we wanted that lens but we attempted a much cheaper camera and it just didn't work out).
@@naturephotographychallenge That is where I wanted to go to too, with the A1 and the 200-600mm lens. Being retired these days, funds have to be considered, so will go with the A7 iv., unless I win the lottery. I will say that your equipment is doing a good job, and the sharpness you get is excellent in most of your shots.
The Regent Parrots are stunning! I'd like to have hopefully a better view to take some photos later this year. Those Grass Wrens are really difficult. I've never seen one but Nimal & Tom are much more patient standing in fly infested prickly plants waiting until they get a sighting. Maybe this year I'll join them? 😆 ~ Karen
Hi Karen and Nimal. Quick question. -what month did you see the superb parrots in Numurkah? (We are thinking of going Anzac day. - April 25) Thanks, Craig.
I looked it up & it was July 2022 when we were there 😀 I looked up ebird records for you & it doesn't look like they come down to Victoria until around June/July. So, probably hold off going there for now as you probably won't see them yet.
I was really disappointed with the birdhide at the Ibis Rookery, the window openings were coveted in chicken mesh preventing any form of photography and the one window that did have a hole just big enough for my 600mm lens was restricted by steel rods and chicken mesh surrounding it, preventing me from pivoting the camera to see other areas. I don't know what it was like for you during your visit but I was there last week. Even the 350m walking path was overgrown and fallen trees. You couldn't even see the birds. Why advertise the place if they don't want you to see the birds????
I was really disappointed in the bird hide too when we were there!! It was the first time I've ever seen bird hide windows covered up like that. I felt a bit uncomfortable about it as I always think the worst wondering why it is like that?? Sad to hear about the overgrown plants & fallen trees 😒 Hopefully it will be all fixed up soon ~ K
As usual, excellent thank you very much
Thank you so much!!
What a gorgeous nest ot Apostle bird😊😊also my fav bird budgies
The Apostlebirds are one of my favourites! So funny to watch! And it was amazing to see wild Budgies!! They looked so happy 😀

Thank you! 🙂 Yes, definitely lots of Lifers for me!! It was so amazing to see birds in an area I'd never been to before. Karen
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. Big Like 33
Thank you so much! 🙂
Striated Grasswrens, Regents, Splendids etc…WOW…such a gorgeous selection of bird species. Wish I could get there again soon. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
It was a pretty amazing trip! It was my first time there so I'm looking forward to going back at some point to focus on specific areas. 🙂 Karen
@@naturephotographychallenge were u able to see the emu-wren or is it even MORE difficult to see it at Nowingi track now?
@@MyozAdventures there was a tiny fleeting glimpse of an emu-wren but it was so quick it disappeared again. Still on the list to photograph!! 😆
Another great vid! Thanks
Thank you so much for watching! 🙂
The apostle bird feeding and warming its young was priceless! It's all about right time, right place and you nailed it perfect.

The cockatoo family are just suberb! They all have the best personalities and always seem so happy 😀
Thankyou. Very helpful and interesting series. About to do same trip and made lots of notes. Very well put together and greet shots.
Thanks Catherine! I'm glad you liked it and got some notes for your upcoming trip. You'll have a fabulous time! There's so much to see 🙂
What a fabulous trip. I try to get up there each Spring as the bird life is fabulous
Isn't it spectacular!! I would love to go back & spend more quality time there. Karen

Nimal you sound a Sri Lankan name?
Wishes from another birder from Melbourne!
Would love to share notes with both of you
Lovely to hear from another birder from Melbourne! (Karen here) and yes, Nimal's dad was Sri Lankan 🙂
