    No one can stay at the top forever. Stewie on a 125 was perhaps the most amazing rider ever. Ask a former pro who was racing 250cc in 2002-2004. The premier class 250 guys would go out of their way to watch the 125 motos/heats...just to see what Stewie would/could do. He changed the way people rode... Cant ever change that....

      Stewart was doing stuff on a 125 that no one else could do but he just couldn’t do that on a 450. He could have competed with the 450’s on a 125 but all he did when he moved up was hurt himself, he just couldn’t handle the power and speed he got from a bigger bike

      Time to settle the whole . . "Bubba was the fastest rider ever" . . . He was great, and after Carmichael retired, he was unquestionably the fastest rider on earth. Best ever? You tell me?. . . Stewart won 7 ama championships. Ricky Carmichael won 16 ama championships. James Stewart won 98 ama races. Ricky Carmichael won 162. Stewart and Carmichael raced several full seasons in the same class against each other in head to head competition, and in every single one of them Ricky Carmichael won the championship. They raced a total of 59 ama events against each other. Of those 59, Carmichael beat Stewart 39 times, and Stewart beat Carmichael 20 times. Carmichael retired from ama motocross after running 7 races in the 2007 motocross season against Stewart, winning all 7 events. (Carmichael crashed out of the lead in two of those races, and both times caught and passed Stewart to win both) . . . . . After carmichael retired stewart was easily the fastest rider on earth. Was he faster than Ricky Carmichael.......... no

      @@garrett3234 James raced for more years than RC did and Ricky still has 162 totals wins to Bubba's 116. RC also has 15 titles to Stewart's 6. Not only that, but RC absolutely crushed James outdoors in 2005 and 2006. James could not match his pace without crashing his brains out. James was all-out faster in Supercross, there's no doubt. But Ricky had him covered outdoors. He never even lost a race to Stewart in the 2007 Nationals when he was semi-retired!

    JS is an exciting racer, but the races have been pretty exciting, even though the action has been the fights for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. Alessi getting the holeshot consistently on the 350 shows that maybe 250 two strokes can make a comeback, since the AMA won't change the handicapped rules. Total BS. This weekend, Mike Leveait (sp) will attempt to qualify in a new 200:1 mix ration two stroke Yamaha YZ250. That's what I'll be looking for.

    RC went out on top. JS has no drive anymore. He's a quitter and will continue to injur himself because he takes too many risks. JS takes a LOTof risks. That's why he WAS faster in a few races, but still got beat by RC, but RC definitely was and is the better racer. JS is one wreck away from ending his career, not just his season. RC could have been even faster at the expense of riding carelessly, and at his point in his career, he had nothing left to prove. RC>JS

    @dmenace259 I looked up your profile. I see why you like Stuart, because your African American and you can relate to him, thats fine. Just get the facts straight. I believe Bubba is a faster rider or atleast now. With his technique(scrubs) but he rides over his head causing him to be out with injury alot and misses out on Championships. Reed's won a SX and MX since RC has been gone. Stuart could of easily won them both if he wasn't injured.

  • @puremutt
    @puremutt 15 років тому

    Eeeasy boy. My point was not to tick off all the Bubba worshippers out there. My point was that he coulda/shoulda won several championships that he didn't because of riding over his head and crashing and, consequently, injuring himself for the season. Accidents do happen to everyone but he's had more spills than most. Factory teams don't like losing championships year after year while shelling out 5million/yr. on their star rider.

  • @puremutt
    @puremutt 15 років тому

    Stick around racing long enough and you'll see that being the fastest doesn't mean the best. Stewart is usually the fastest but against Ricky Carmichael he was rarely the best. His strongpoint is ironically his weakness: he always rides a little "over his head". He usually either wins or wrecks. I'm sure that's why Kawasaki dropped him--he kept screwing up the championships with stupid riding.

    These guys aren't robots. Human error is a big thing when it comes to the holeshot, reaction time, and doing it right are what make it happen. Some people are naturally better, alessi is a holeshot machine, but, he can't hang with stewart the whole way threw a race. RC 85% of the time had a good start, somewhere in the top 7 usually, that was just good tech and being able to implement it time and again. Yeah, but reailty TV shows, and endorsements don't make you the greatest of all time. Consistency, overall wins and shampionships do. He'll have a career ending injury or the next phenom will force him to retire early.

    @GoonRider919 watched every race... and i watched Villopoto win the whole thing... Not saying james sucks... i love James. But to say nobody can beat James is stupid when he just lost to Villopoto. Also, Carmichael anybody?

    @looper148 Grown - up stuff huh?? Humm. when your not taunting me about your boy RV, you now want to bring in your day job washing toilets at the local McDonald's and it's all grown up stuff huh? oooook.

    Ya RC clock was cleaned alright,Bubbas outta control ass landed on RC at unadilla,carmicheal learned to control at that speed. James still hasn't learned. Better prey he dont hurt himself again this season outdoors.

  • @gcwagoner
    @gcwagoner 17 років тому

    "RC tried to jack with James and James cleaned his clock." Supremely ignorant statements of this nature are almost amusing. Stewart "cleaned Ricky Carmichael's clock" ??? Somebody missed something here...

    @vanhalen515084 Reed is only winning outdoors because Stewart isn't in. Stewarts working on practicing for next supercross season. Who would fine him for that. That's the sport, they test each other.

    There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. RC didn't cross that and ended his career the greatest of all time. He was much smarter racer. JS will end his career injured.

  • @omaits

    It's too bad he can't go 2 races without injuring himself.
    Good riding is being the on brink of crashing. James just crosses that line a little too much.

  • @bud385

    maybe so but wouldn't that make him the tool that COMPLETELY DEMORALIZED reed in that moto & showed everyone that he was the fastest rider on the track ?

  • @Rambl147

    @dmenace259 He stopped racing the SX season halfway through because he had car racing obligations. People that don't relise how good Carmichael was are blind.

    This event is still bigger known than anything RC ever did.

      2 perfect seasons? Lapping the entire field? I love James but RC is the GOAT. RC admits James was faster but he was not smarter at race craft At least not at that point of his career.
