Trash taste can’t have a single episode without talking about food and I live for this
My family owns a buffet and omg some people just slab everything together like a mountain. Like dude you can go back.
Reminds me of Dick and Jane, it is a movie where the couple lost their income and had to resort to eating at buffets that only charge you per a plate and they stacked it up high XD
I do that...cause I don't wanna walk twice....but then I have to do it anyway cause I eat like 4 plates full of stuff
I personally do that to visualize everything I'm going to eat, and usually only get food once. I don't let it get ridiculous and spill everywhere tho.
i think personally From experience the reason why they do that is because Theres this pressure that u get this amount of food thats it And if u go back and get it over and over you'd be viewed as a greedy person
Oh know they still go a couple of times. They waste a lot of food.
Mexicans do be crying for that "tortilla" pronuntiation. Me dueles Connor
se paso de verga xD "Tortilah"
Not just the Mexicans, but the central Americans and South Americans too! - Anakin after executing order 66
@@DanielGarcia-vu2md And spaniards, we speack Spanish in Spain too.
But a tortilla is an omelet here.
Los hondureños nos dolio mas
Just don't pronounce too many words correctly.
_"Hola_ (name), we made some _chilaquiles_ and some _guacamole_ to go with it!!"
T-thanks.
I love that we get to see the good kind of American culture shock for once when Garnt and Connor first hear about the high-end Vegas buffets.
"$80-90 for a buffet?!" "What, do you get like sirloin steak on demand?!"
"Uh yes."
"Oh ok"
90
sirloin? All about the ribeye and prime ribe and sea food XD
@@RexZShadow Don't sleep on the Cognac Ice Cream 🍨
@@Shockguey not a fan of alcohol personally, way too sensitive to bitter taste.
@@RexZShadow Without being too intrusive did you try various kinds of just beer?
Cognac is a Brandy, which is a fruit based spirit.
I used to work at Panera, and they give away all of the leftover food every Sunday to a homeless shelter run by a Church. It's really nice considering that all of the food is thrown out every other 6 days of the week.
Lol😂😂
The thing with food waste is just always logistics, cost more to give it to someone then trash it
The biggest issues are either health codes that prevent giving away fresh prepared food past their sell-by time or that places like homeless shelters don’t have the capacity to either store/refrigerate the food or distribute it before it goes bad.
I’m a Texan and evidently Meilyne is more American than me since I haven’t heard of 90% of the stuff she referenced
4:15 **Ironmouse screaming in the distance**
This was 20 years ago but a high end hotelrestaurant in Cambridge MA (US) used to send all of it's left over brunch items to a local homeless veterans shelter. That was a $65 per person in the 90's
Left over buffet food in Las Vegas is not thrown out! It is sold to pig farmers in the area who use it to feed their pigs.
Buffet pants are such an American thing. Even as an American, I'm taken aback by how gluttonous we can be at times.
This is the first I've Heard of buffet pants I don't think everyone does this
@@skaicentral3790 basically you just wear your most loose fitting jeans when going to a buffet. It's something you do without even thinking about it
Buffet pants are actually the bomb tho. Especially for people like me who normally wear really tight pants. Buffets and big family events like Thanksgiving and Christmas make wearing tight pants really uncomfortable by the end of the night. So stretchy pants are the heckin best on these rare occasions.
I’ve never heard of buffet pants, but this is the best idea I’ve ever heard. I’m going to get some oversized sweat pants before the next time I do a buffet.
I don't have special pants...I just undo the belt and buttons
I'm not a big fan of buffets myself. But I do want to try a few in Vegas
In New Hampshire, They have a law where you have to get a new plate every time you go back at a buffet. It makes sense from a sanitation standpoint
Mayleen is a great addition to the podcast i think. But... How do you eat at multiple buffets one after the next? Might as well stay at one and eat until you're sated, especially if there's no time limit
Think her name is Meilyn my guy
@@BabyfaceMilan99 it's actually some shit written in hanzi that can be written a couple different ways in the latin alphabet
If one was in Vegas for a short time and wanted to try all of the signature dishes at the most popular buffets, it would be like a pub crawl. One could see and sample many with others who were interested.
@@JohnDoe-wx2oo Thank God she's not Polish. We'd be here all day.
@@susanblamire4014 That could only work as a full week thing.
Meilyne gets it. A buffet pass would be amazing, even just for a day
I like how Meilyne just lists all possible buffets Connor could have gone to like she's been there a dozen times
Connor here getting surprised by $40-$50 buffets when he and Chris indulge in heart attack all you can (or can't) eat for who knows how much
But no matter where you go, they'll always have Tikka Masala.
What, i want those buffets with tikka masala
A well-executed buffet that's attended by chefs / cooks making fresh, smaller portions is in a different league from the ones that put out huge trays of cheap foods to sit under lamps for hours.
Hotpot buffets can be different. Depending on the restaurant itself either you ask them to serve you the meats or you pick them yourself. It's not just one thing.
It's the same for BBQ buffets.
Buffets can be priced different.
Las Vegas is known to be a very expensive place. So it's obvious that most of the buffet places cost at least 80-100$ per pax
Interesting fact, the buffets in vegas actually send that food at the end of the day to be used as pig slop.
10:08 the non-american telling the American that's too much effort
Indian Buffets are incomplete without Paneer lmao.
Garnt or Connor saying "Tackoes" is like nails of a chalk board for me.
Me watching this while I’m in a buffet eating buffet food
👁👄👁
My experience with Buffets in England are weddings. They were the standard for weddings in my social class...
I live in Boston and there is an all chocolate buffet here. Everything chocolate, all forms, and nothing else.
the best and only kind of acceptable buffet is a good ol breakfast buffet
Damn yeah I only have memories of those at a hotel now you reminded me now I want that
Topi Karttunen Haven’t stayed at a hotel for almost two years bcs of covid damn I miss that.
2:30 That's like saying Ruby Tuesday's is a buffet
Me: Is eating a lot of buffet food really a college thing?
Also me at uni: Living on Pizza Hut Pizza Buffet and China Buffet King
I miss my uni days even if my stomach doesn't!
I seen a cool thing where some places give the leftovers to farms to use as pig feed
disclaimer as a person who lives in america buffets aren't that expensive here san fransisco and las vegas are among the most expensive cities to live in everywhere else buffets are much cheaper also the best buffets to me are chinese buffets because they have all the western food and eastern food you can get just about anything there and they cook the western food better too if you ask me
So…
Buffets are just built different around the world
All you can eat and Buffet are different
I think they are referring specifically to all you can eat buffets
@@Ash_Wen-li no she was talking about a hotpot place in the beginning.
Do non-ayce buffets even exist?
ive seen on YT, vegas buffets either sells or donates the leftover food to feed companies to make feed for live stock
Meiling looks like someone who enjoys buffet
The Brazilian ones are good, they bring over different types of meat to the table for you to take and you can also go and get cards and stuff in the traditional way, they cone to your table every few minutes too so you won't run out of meat.
She was thinking of a All you eat restaurant.
Are there buffets that are not ayce?
@@Blah64 there a distinction. Buffets you usually serve yourself at the bars. The food is already out. All you can for instance, Korean barbecue you have a menu and you order as you go. So if want more food you have tell the waiter
Also, the cost would be worth it if the food selection they have is something you would enjoy eating.
My brother loves the desserts and would want to go any buffet with a variety of foods but also a huge dessert area.
My parents and I love seafood. But it is often hit or miss with seafood. The expensive ones like Las Vegas is worth it, but if we don't crave seafood that much, we can downsize and go to a buffet that still has variety for a good decent price.
I did not like Wicked Spoon bc the food was just too much experimental for me, such as bone marrow. But my parents loved the different foods compared to other casinos. They may see that buffet price as worth it but for me since I can't eat as much food there, then it is a waste of money and I would rather go to Caesars palace or Winn buffet
Bacchanal and The Buffet at Wynn are AMAZING in Vegas
The way Connor says toRtiLa 🤣
I hate to use this type of joke but...that's the most "white person" thing I have ever heard. Does he say taco like tayco?
Some buffets do make you pay for wasting food to here in the US.
$40 for an average buffet in SF? Jesus.
Me a Costa Rican making tortillas for breakfast hearing conor miss spelling the name xddd was everything
BACCHANAL BUFFET is literally top tier when you’re talking about premium experiences.
Oh, so that's explained why joey went to Vegas so much. I missed that aki lore.
Not sure if it is still true, but the buffets in Vegas used to give their left over food to Farms to feed pigs and perhaps other animals.
The buffet at Bellagio when I went: 1 hour long line up to get in, and it wasn't even peak dining time. I really wish we carved out some time for it.
4:20 ya guey 😭
That does sound like an American buffet Connor.
Buffet pants... 🤣 some people do that, but only like... frequent buffet goers. I don't know anyone that's changed their pants to sweats prior to going out to one.
I once went to a very renowned buffet in hong kong. There were a ton of mainlanders there and it was very funny. Every single mainlander tourist instantly ran to the crab leg/lobster buffet. Stacked it up like a mountain and dashed back to their table, not talking, just finish it asap and dash back to get more. No care about other diners whatsoever. Meanwhile me and my gf could go get the actually delicious stuff they were making with barely any waiting line
Crabs/lobsters aren’t even that good.
@@Lekirius i know but it's the feeling of prestiege lol
@@Lekirius Crab, that's delicious. While lobster can go to hell!
It's funny because i lived in vegas for like 8 years growing up and went to a buffet 4 times. lol if you're really from vegas you eat Robertos , Napoli pizza , PePe's and Pops.
meilyne is really becoming the glutton of traste taste lmao
Pretty sure NV buffet places just sell all their leftovers to pig farms for slop. Not sure if they still do this but it recoups some of the loss.
i think i got the buffet pants from some cartoon i dont remember well
What about buffet in Australia. Is there spiders and snakes on the menu
If you don't need buffet pants, is the buffet really worth it?
Even £15 is a lot.
There's a buffet near me where in the afternoon it's £7 and in the evening (where there's a bigger selection) it's like £9. The food's never gonna win any awards, but it's tasty enough.
Just gotta leave this here. Brazilian BBQ Buffet.
As an American, i can corroborate her buffet pants story and everything else
What? Wtf is buffet pants? I'm an American too
@@joedorben3504 like the pants you wear for the buffet, to give space
Yes. Either stretchy jeans, leggings or sweats. Or we adjust the buttons
@@aznfangrl612 I just wear regular pants lol. Give space for what? Your stomach doesn't just automatically expand when you eat a lot.
@@joedorben3504 yeah but it just feels more comfortable when ur too full
The buffet pants are real. Americans especially take buffets seriously 😂 don't tell me you wouldn't want some comfortable pants too stretch out and relax in that post-buffet bliss!
What's the source, news article, or actual law behind that vegas buffet leftover lawsuit? Can't seem to find it anywhere
japan do a bunch of tabehodai though
just get some rice to separate the saucy dishes, they all engineers figure it out
vegas give the leftover to farms feed and stuff
The philosophy of the rich and the poor is this: the rich invest their money and spend what is left. The poor spend their money and invest what is left"
Interesting, most people don't understand the market moves and tend to be mislead in facts like this and always depend on Money in the Bank very bad idea
When money realize that's it's in good hands, it wants to stay and multiply in those hands, if you really want to make points out of money you ve got, you have to take it out of your saving account
@@majormandy7702 I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do because I have no idea of how and where to invest in?
I'm happy to see Mr Michael Wayne mentioned here, he is recognized in the society, My wife recommended him to me after investing £4000 and he has really helped us in times of this bad pandemic crisis

Never have I ever heard of buffet pants and I’m American
As an American, I cam proudly day that most of us do not have buffet pants....we just undo the belt and the buttons. We do, however, as civilized people, keep the zipper at least halfway done
I'm pretty sure there's more to a lawsuit than that and it's not illegal to give the food away. It just costs the company more money to donate it and they are all about saving that dough even if it means throwing away food. Many Americans do have the idea it's illegal due to propagated lie spread on the internet and company's like people to think that way so they don't have to go through the tiny bit of extra effort
Holy shit some of the stuff Meilyne says is so hilarious.
I’m from Scotland and I’ve never come across and buffet that isn’t Indian or Chinese food. And it’s the shit greasy kind too. I saw one buffet with some pizza but that paled in comparison to the 20 odd vats full of Indian curries. It sucks because I hate all Indian and most Chinese food (even the stuff I had in China I hated - aside from the UK sweet and sour chicken or crispy shredded beef in honey chilli sauce). If it were a Japanese buffet it would be amazing. Yo!Sushi has those conveyor belts but it’s bloody expensive for each dish considering the size of them. You end up spending £60 per person even if it is healthier than spending £20 at Pizza Hut. Their strawberry cheesecake mochi is the best mochi I’ve had so far. Nippon Kitchen in Glasgow is my favourite restaurant and their teriyaki duck is to die for.
Buffets in London are really not that expensive, they can be £10-20 easily
These people don't know anything about getting multiple plates before sitting down and eating.
For the richest country in the world they managed to get a homeless person food poison got sued and lost, and I am not surprised.
I can't say all the buffets do this, but most do. They keep all the food at the end of the day and either sell or give the food to pig farmers, to feed the pigs. So not as much food goes to waste as you think.
Depends how close the buffets are to a farm i guess
How about just to try different kinds of food from different places?
If you can't cover it in melted cheese it aint a buffet.
Connor pronouncing tortilla almost gave me an aneurysm
The entire time in my mind: They should go to an indian wedding.
... How does throwing out the food protect homeless people? Seriously, do you think that dumpsters are locked up better than storage facilities?
Because if the food's already been sitting out all day it has a higher chance of going bad? And most homeless people aren't dumpster divers? And if you donate spoiled food, that's clearly on you?
It's not to protect the homeless. It's to protect the restaurant for possible lawsuits.
Had a buffet on a swedish cruise. Wasn't a fan like 70% of what was there.
Probably rotten fish and try bread
The fuck is Garnt talking about? I live in the south (granted, the south west) and every buffet I've been to has been £8-£10. London doesn't count as south.
London is its own country
Mate no one can name a single place in the south west other than Bristol which is a dump (and that's coming from someone from the post industrial dumps or West Yorkshire) when someone says south they mean London and the surrounding areas.
Yes I am crying especially I'm crying inside when ever I have to say tortilla in a different way for other people understand what I'm trying to say I'm just dying inside
As a Mexican, I cringed 😅
Americans changing into their fat pants to eat ..... sounds about right :D 🤔😆🤣
Great
They should see the buffet in the Middle East. Those things slap!
I dont think shakees or bubba gump is a buffet chain they are just regular restaurants

Bit rude.
I would too tbh, in fact that'd be better, I'm just thicc eating garbage quality food, buffet would be nice
