I have always done my layouts manually because I had not found a good software package for me. I will be looking into this software because it looks like even I could use it. I agree with you on using millimeters for cabinet dimensions. The hinges and drawer glides all are designed on the 32mm system. It makes sense to stay in metric instead of converting back and forth. Keep up the good work.
I've used most of the cabinet design software out there including Cabinet Vision, but I've found that in the ultra high end custom market, unless you are a coder, they are too cumbersome to use. Especially when custom cabinets have to integrate seamlessly into custom millwork packages and the coordination between the cabinet company and the trim carpenters needs to happen via shop plans prior to construction. They are great programs for speeding along mid to high end stuff though. I've really come to like a simple approach using sketchup to design, and Maxcut for panel optimization and dxf export. It's a lot more manual input than cabinet software, but much more versatile if you are trying to do hi end or better with a cnc. I think its 25 bucks a month.
Hi Donavan, Question: What software did you use to record this video showing your use of the CabinetPlanner with the visual of you in the corner? Well done. btw, Loving your house remodel series with Matt Cremona!
Thank you for sharing. My husband was able to get this going very quickly. It would have taken so much longer without this video. Much appreciated!
Glad to hear thanks
