Nice work. Good to know a pipe with this kind of damage can be repaired. Good point about the worth of the repair vs starting over. Important to understand from customer point of view. I’m subscribed.
i'm doing the same for a titanium M4 exhaust on a 2006 SV1000S ... a new one would be $1,000 - a used one is too hard to find and uncertain. an order of titanium filler rod, some argon and I'm set. i think it's worth the repair. Also that much less in the trash. thanks for the video. good to see someone else do it to compare with my work. after seeing your results, i think i over-prepped mine. I could've saved more time if i saw this sooner. liked and subscribed here.
2 years later, but could you have heated the pipe up with a torch to make it a little more malleable and less brittle? Maybe it wouldn't have cracked? Would just a little heat from LPG torch distort the pipe too much using the one sided aluminum block? I know benders torch and bend titanium, but they don't use hammers. I'm not sure how it would have came out just wondering if you thought about this method before and any reason you didn't go that route?
