We have checked the starter, mechanic has me to turn the car in the on position and he went underneath the car and did something to see if the starter was good and it tried cranking instantly that way
@@Zay7_mopar starter relay that’s the next part you guys need to check.I will just replace it they’re very cheap, you can Google starter relay for your specific car and it should pull up the diagram on the fuse panel

Good detailed video man I got a dodge Magnum doing the exact same thing I checked fuel pump it's clicking ,I did the spark plug test no fire ,not too long ago I changed the fuel pump when it did the same thing and it ended up being the ecm I fixed that and it was fine now it's turning with no fire

So I have 2009 Charger with the 2.7L. It died yesterday while driving. It will not start back up but cranks good. I tested the battery and battery was weak after charging back up so I replaced my battery. I’ve checked all ground straps and they are good. I have spark, air and power but seems like its not getting fuel. I’m getting 12.62V at the connector on the fuel pump when the key is turned on and I can hear the pump but still a no start. All fuses and relays are good. Serpentine belt spins just fine while cranking. I’m thinking the fuel pump is either weak or bad. What are your thoughts?

It was the timing chain tensioner that was broken in half. The worst mistake was following this guy’s videos on changing time chains. Did everything to the every detail following his instructions, but at the end it wasn’t working. So I ended up junking the car unfortunately. Bought a brand new Tacoma truck instead.

If it start good when is cold I guess the battery is good but when it's get a little hot it won't start again it has to be some sensor that it's overhearing you need a diagnostic to check for a code

What about when you turn it over? It does a continuous turnover when you turn the key and won’t stop just turning over until you shut the key off. Like it’s stuck on turning over.

What engine do you have. To start off good battery and a scanner if any thing is chewed up the scanner will point you in the right direction for example code display #2 injector Circuit low, means there is a damage wire

Regular Gas is what’s recommended for that car, premium gas will not benefit your engine so you’re better off sticking with the recommended regular unleaded.

That code indicates a week or dead battery make sure you have 100% charged battery and try again if it still doesn’t start you may have another issue. Follow my steps in diagnosing the problem and you will be good

@@BC_nopowder you can only test the alternator once the vehicle is running but if you think it’s the alternator you can always remove it and take it to AutoZone and they will test it for free. An alternator will never cause a vehicle to not start you literally can remove an alternator and the vehicle will start and run until the battery goes dead, let me rephrase that a little bit a normal functioning alternator that spins freely a locked up alternator may cause the engine not to turn over

Check the fuel pump, fuse for the fuel pump if its getting enough electric power from the fuse box, and check if there is enough fuel in it . Listen if the fuel pump is working it make a waning sound. I knew it was the fuel pump from start

Not really vacuum leaks will cause higher idle engine may stall or run rough.some symptoms of a bad cat are loss of power, bad mpg,engine misfires, exhaust noise . Both will throw a check engine light

Hello it means the fuel pump is priming the fuel system for quick start, it’s sort of like a old school how you have to pump the gas pedal right before starting
I probably should have filmed it running after I replace the fuel pump i’m going to start doing that with my diagnostic videos. The test that I performed that day all pointed to the fuel pump needed to be replaced
Hey there those are codes for a crank sensor and oil temperature sensor. The crankshaft sensor code may indicate you have a bad sensor or a wiring issue The second code May just be a bad oil temp sensor. find someone with a good scan tool to hook up to the car and look at the read outs of each sensor
@@AlexTheCarDoctor yes it will start I had the throttle body replaced and also crank sensor it drives about a good 30 miles then shuts off again I leave it for a couple of hours and it cranks fine I was told to replace the fuel pump seems like everybody is kinda giving me the run around
Check engine light on and lighting bolt looking light comes on when it breaks down I leave it go back to a few hours later the lights are off it runs fine until a repeated process
If you have a code reader send me the check engine light code if not take it to your local part store they will pull the code for free. That doesn’t sound like fuel pump sounds maybe like a cam sensor
My 08 Charger started flashing a red lightning bolt the other day while I was driving but I turned it off for a second then back on and it seemed to be back to normal. But it has gotten much worse and hardly wants to start now. I scanned the car and it said like 10 different codes including P0301,P0300, P0306, P0652, P0652, P0340, P0868, etc. do you think you know what Is causing it?
What I’m basically seeing is misfire codes and ECM low-voltage codes you may have a wiring issue,depending on your engine size.I have seen corrosion buildup at the computer/ECM.I had a similar issue on a charger with the 5.7 Hemi. The computer is located underneath the crawl,basically the little plastic cover between the hood and the windshield check for corrosion at the computer but before you do that make sure that the battery and charging system is good. Tip anytime you’re working with the electric system make sure the battery is unplugged especially if you unplug the computer that’s a good way to fry your ECM

Thanks buddy. You may have a bad crank sensor, you will need a good scanner so you can check your crank sensor

Code came up P2115 did some reprogramming and it worked it great 👍
New problem my oil is mixing with the radiator fluid but not in the engine I changed the intercooler 🤔 but the oil and coolant is still mixing

Bad battery! Idk if you got it fixed or not but take it to autozone and they’ll test the battery. You ever notice battery acid on that battery?
If it start good when is cold I guess the battery is good but when it's get a little hot it won't start again it has to be some sensor that it's overhearing you need a diagnostic to check for a code

Good morning, I have 2007 Dodge Charger with the 2.7 liter engine. The car starts with quick starting fluid and dies immediately. I probed the 4th and 5th wire as you did on this video, but I am not getting any volts. The fuse is good. I switch the fuel pump relay and still have the same no start issue with no volts on the 4th and 5th wire. Can you suggest what to check next? Thank you.

What about when you turn it over? It does a continuous turnover when you turn the key and won’t stop just turning over until you shut the key off. Like it’s stuck on turning over.

What engine do you have. To start off good battery and a scanner if any thing is chewed up the scanner will point you in the right direction for example code display #2 injector Circuit low, means there is a damage wire

Regular Gas is what’s recommended for that car, premium gas will not benefit your engine so you’re better off sticking with the recommended regular unleaded.

That code indicates a week or dead battery make sure you have 100% charged battery and try again if it still doesn’t start you may have another issue. Follow my steps in diagnosing the problem and you will be good
Ok thanks . I’m thinking it’s the alternator. It’s just turning over like in video but never starts or sometimes it won’t even doing anything in crank position it turns the radio off while trying to turn over to crank
@@BC_nopowder you can only test the alternator once the vehicle is running but if you think it’s the alternator you can always remove it and take it to AutoZone and they will test it for free. An alternator will never cause a vehicle to not start you literally can remove an alternator and the vehicle will start and run until the battery goes dead, let me rephrase that a little bit a normal functioning alternator that spins freely a locked up alternator may cause the engine not to turn over

Hey brother. You have two options,get a different auto locksmith to make you another key, second remove the security system with a a program named hp tuner. What is your engine size
Check the fuel pump, fuse for the fuel pump if its getting enough electric power from the fuse box, and check if there is enough fuel in it . Listen if the fuel pump is working it make a waning sound. I knew it was the fuel pump from start

Would a vacuum leak give similar symptoms to that of a bad catalytic converter ?
Not really vacuum leaks will cause higher idle engine may stall or run rough.some symptoms of a bad cat are loss of power, bad mpg,engine misfires, exhaust noise . Both will throw a check engine light

Ive replaced both fuel pumps, clockspring, steering angle sensor, all 4 speed sensors, crank shaft sensor, cam shaft sensor, throttle position sensor, and mass airflow sensor. Changed all the sparkplugs. Fuel pump turns on. Battery, alternator, and starter are all good. I have spark. What am i missing?

Do you have a scanner if so it needs to be able to read engine data so you can check The RPM reading
Without engine rpm reading the engine will not start and most likely you have a bad crank sensor or wiring problem

Jus the camshaft sensors, and fuel pump (gas hand don’t work), but pump is still functioning. I changed the sensors, cleared the codes and it acts like it wants to start but jus doesn’t.

Hello it means the fuel pump is priming the fuel system for quick start, it’s sort of like a old school how you have to pump the gas pedal right before starting

Hey there those are codes for a crank sensor and oil temperature sensor. The crankshaft sensor code may indicate you have a bad sensor or a wiring issue The second code May just be a bad oil temp sensor. find someone with a good scan tool to hook up to the car and look at the read outs of each sensor

@@AlexTheCarDoctor yes it will start I had the throttle body replaced and also crank sensor it drives about a good 30 miles then shuts off again I leave it for a couple of hours and it cranks fine I was told to replace the fuel pump seems like everybody is kinda giving me the run around
Check engine light on and lighting bolt looking light comes on when it breaks down I leave it go back to a few hours later the lights are off it runs fine until a repeated process

If you have a code reader send me the check engine light code if not take it to your local part store they will pull the code for free. That doesn’t sound like fuel pump sounds maybe like a cam sensor
My 08 Charger started flashing a red lightning bolt the other day while I was driving but I turned it off for a second then back on and it seemed to be back to normal. But it has gotten much worse and hardly wants to start now. I scanned the car and it said like 10 different codes including P0301,P0300, P0306, P0652, P0652, P0340, P0868, etc. do you think you know what Is causing it?
What I’m basically seeing is misfire codes and ECM low-voltage codes you may have a wiring issue,depending on your engine size.I have seen corrosion buildup at the computer/ECM.I had a similar issue on a charger with the 5.7 Hemi. The computer is located underneath the crawl,basically the little plastic cover between the hood and the windshield check for corrosion at the computer but before you do that make sure that the battery and charging system is good. Tip anytime you’re working with the electric system make sure the battery is unplugged especially if you unplug the computer that’s a good way to fry your ECM

You may have a bad fuel pump do you have the ability to run a diagnostic on it yourself and tools
