I think it's funny how heatblast is technically the first ice alien ben ever used
Watching this episode made me realize how freaking fast is the escalation of villain motivations in the episode.
Megawatt just wanted to play pranks on others... and then he went on to destroy a dam to juice up.
Circus freaks started as a bunch of petty thieves and then you learn Zombozo is sucking out souls of people
Kevin wanted to steal a video game and then decided to commit a mass murder
and here is Clancy, with perhaps the biggest jump in terms of escalation
started with him wanting to keep his home from being demolished
and then he went on to recreate Chernobyl
Really frustrating since at first Clancy is 100% the victim. The council lady was gentrifying the neighborhood and he was just defending himself from an asshole demolishing crew. Dude does a complete 180 into supervillain shenanigans

@Etneciv Lego I mean to be fair that building was clearly unsafe, was in danger of falling apart at any moment and tearing it down was clearly a popular idea
@@jonasquinn7977 they could had... you know... check if it was actually abandoned. Personally I don't really think a reasonable authority figure is one that orders demolition of an old house, and have the demolition workers be the ones to discover there are still people in there *as they are tearing the place down*. Clancy aside, for all we know they could had killed a bunch of innocent homeless folks who just used the place as a shelter cause the council didn't actually check if place is empty.

Yeah. When I was really little there was an episode of Pingu where he gets lost, and now I'm afraid of getting lost.
Depending on the level of said fear, it's pretty normal. We're evolutionarily programed to want to avoid certain things like spiders, snakes, crocodiles. Anything that our ancestors might have had a deadly encounter with.
Some people go more into the phobia territory, but there's certainly a healthy amount of fear of said things. It's just instincts
I think shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog account for 80% of fears and nightmares we have.

I loved that the aliens got different side effects because of Ben's was sickness especially heat blast turning into big chill or cold blast 😂

I like that it actually makes sense for heat blast to have a colder fever. The purpose of a fever, is to destroy the viruses with heat. Since it's heat blast, viruses weak to heat wouldn't be able to infect him in the first place, so freezing the obviously heat resistant viruses only makes sense.

@@collecter343 maybe thats not fire in the first place? maybe its some kind of plasma, that just "happens" to look like fire. Kevin wrapped his arms around heatblast, without getting burned, and ben has shown the ability, to not automatically burn everything he touches (mostly). Diamondhead isnt made from diamonds either, as hes a silicon based organic crystal, while real diamonds are made from carbon.

Alien Force's initial alien roster than the original 10 just on versatility alone but of course XLR8 and Heatblast will forever be classics in my heart
@@Step43099 That's actually why I dislike AF's roster. Ben's strength should come from variety, always having an alien for the job, but not having a single alien that can do everything. AF's aliens just combine powers from the classic ones.
Jetray = XLR8+Ripjaws+Stinkfly.
Swampfire = Heatblast+Wildvine.
Echo² = Ditto+Blizwolfer.
Big Chill = Ghostfreak+Arctiguana
Etc...

@@armaggedon390 a friend and i always had a different interpretation of this idea, so make of it what you will
basically, it will eventually be inevitable that some forms would have similar powers (it's been joked even in-universe that Ben has so many electric aliens). the universe is a wide place, with an infinite potential. when it comes to Ben's arsenal, one can interpret it as the aliens having certain expertise or different uses, even with similar power sets
for example, Heatblast is likely more powerful than Swampfire when it comes to literal firepower, while Swampfire trumps him with extra physical strength and the ability to regenerate limbs. Heatblast can be considered the DPS to Swampfire's Tank
for a different example, Big Chill is faster than Articguana, can fly and have additional ghost powers except possession and telekinesis, with the latter two belonging to Ghostfreak instead. meanwhile, Articguana's strength comes from his ice powers being far stronger than Big Chill's, with an even wider range. Big Chill has frozen actual fire before, but Articguana has actually frozen literal lava and he did so in an incredibly fast rate. in terms of ghost powers, Ghostfreak's got already some of Big Chill's and then some. while never truly explored, it is not out of the possibility that Ghostfreak can remove his skin to unveil his true form and use his other powers, like his dark energy beams and his telekinesis, and even turning people he possesses into Ectonurite "drones". the catch is that he'd be more vulnerable to sunlight, something Big Chill doesn't have a problem with
all in all, every alien has their uses. the similarities may seem to make particular forms obsolete, but that's only what's seems like on the surface. a good Omnitrix wielder, which Ben always has the potential to be, will find a use for each and every one. like a soldier having a sidearm he could always switch to should something happen to his primary weapon

This episode was a weird one. On the bright side we found out how Ben's physical form affects the watch. Also I see why that bug guy was living in an abandoned building. Man's thought he could survive thousand degree temperatures by covering himself in fucking bugs
Probably based on the idea roaches can survive a nuclear explosion
@@ricardomiles2957 it is, they even foreshadowed it in the episode. But roaches only survive the radiation not the actual explosion, they just get melted like everything else.

Max didn’t Vulcan neck pinch the dog. He used a trick that Caesar Milan uses to help regulate a dogs behavior. Dog in a pack who have a member who is out of control or misbehaving will often lightly jab their teeth into the neck of the misbehaving member which instinctively tells said member to settle down. Caesar does this all the time on dogs with his fingers.
Ben's "I don't know what's worse, the cold or the cure?" line reminded me of Morbius.
Dr. Michael Morbius : How far are we allowed to go to fix something that's broken? Mentor : Until the remedy is worse than the disease.
Makes Ben's line sound deeper than it is.

This was definitely one of those those awkward weird episodes that are surprisingly good even though the concept is super weird you still enjoy it

We can appreciate the fact that her legs stay still completely, than be trying to move them out of panic by the wasps.

I always loved this episode so much as a kid. I think it's so cool to explore things like what happens when all the aliens are sick. Something I can't really think of happening in any other series. Next episode is awesome too.

This was definitely a unique episode as far as season 1 goes. Clancy, who goes unnamed the whole episode is kind of a lame villain despite being fairly strong. I don't even think he appears in any of the sequel series. It was a neat gimmick to see how differently each alien gets affected by Ben's cold.
Next time it's the season finale and it's definitely a worthy way to end the first season.

Thank god I've never seen a cockroach in real life. They make me so sick in cartoons. The idea of seeing one in person really scares me. I can't stand even the small harmless insects we get here in Ireland.
Oh fun fact. I have NEVER seen a spider in my apartment yet, not even a small one. I've been here about 4 months. The walls are all white, and there has never been anything on them. In fact, the only insect that has ever been in here so far is fruit flies.
This is a funny episode to look back on, because out of all the OP shit they have the watch doing later, especially in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, it can't cure Ben of a little 24 hour flu?
