Thank you for the regular updates. They make the channel really interesting. Others often only document the build and a video as they start out, but it leaves one wondering how things are doing years later. It is great to see you plants developing, the challenges, the successes. Thank you again for sharing. Cheers from Italy.
This is awesome this year we are hoping to finally build a couple of these units in northwest Iowa, I've been following your build for a few years so thank you. I'd love to see month by month updates if you have the time!
Good to see the update, and happy your plants are doing well! I am in Eastern Utah with a GAHT greenhouse, just over one year going. My pomegranate also lost it's leaves. I have three cavendish bananas, slightly smaller than yours that are doing well so far. Limes, lemons, mandarin oranges, also doing OK. Have tried 3 Hass Avocado dwarf trees, and lost them--not sure why. Lowest temp I have so far recorded was 38, with a corresponding -11 outside, on 12/19.
We lost 2 Avocado trees before finally having success. Not sure why although I know they don't love our Utah climate and the variances that happen in the Greenhouse. Thanks for the feedback. Keep us updated as to what is working for you.
I live in Utah county and will be planning on building a GAHT greenhouse this spring/summer. Would either of you be willing to review the plans I have for the underground pipes?
Loving your videos! I'm in Payson and exploring building a greenhouse and am assisting my parents with building one in Woodland Hills. Are either of you (Trail Break Farms and BladeUtah) willing to give an in person tour of your greenhouses?
Thanks for the update. Every time I see your greenhouse and other sunken-type greenhouses, I can't help but imagine that these growing systems (or similar) are the future. Can't you picture one of these on Mars? The Moon? Anyway, that's just a random thought. Have a great day!
I need to do a better job of monitoring humidity in winter. I only worry about humidity in Summer when the fans are running and its dry in here. Otherwise things have been good.
@@trailbreakfarms Thanks for your info! Did you run the fans for heating during the winter time and did you make an experiment how much is going to be the min temperature inside the greenhouse without any supplemental heating?
yes. we've had condensation and water table issues. The pipes with holes in them is the way to go. Because of high water table we went with sold pipes which was a mistake. We should have just kept them above the water.
I'd check to see what grows best, also takes very little to maintain and focus on growing just two (maximum a handful) of the varieties I pick only. Heaps if possible. I'd go for just oranges and lemons. Don't know if that would stay the same once owning a greenhouse_in_the_snow, but... So my question would be if you'd do something like that or would you keep growing many varieties?
Looks like it’s doing quite well. The lemons look great. Think I would add a lime tree as both are fabulous for cooking with and adding to drinks. Have you grown green onions?
We have a lime tree in there. Agree that its a necessity of any Greenhouse. Yes we've grown green onions. Great addition to any garden. Thanks for your feedback.
I will be insulating mine in the next few days. Built a 18 x 70ft this summer and will probably finish in the next few weeks. Obviously wont be able to plant but test it out here in Michigan. Where do you source your plants, trees and thanks?
I love dragonfruit! I keep seeing yours, but only the vines. Have you ever had fruit? If you've shown the fruit, I haven't seen it. Are they white? Purple? Or yellow? I'd love to see the vines when there are fruit on them next time. Also, don't most trees require a certain amount of space between each other? Yours seem right next to one another, which is lush and enveloping, for sure. But has that caused any problems, with too many trees in too little space? Thanks for the videos. I love seeing the updates, and hanging out in the green 55-degree greenhouse when it's snowy and 30 outside must be an amazing feeling.
No fruit yet from Dragon Fruit but we have gotten our first flowers! Time will tell. Yes trees are closer together than normal. Limited space in the Greenhouse so we are hopeful it works. We prune them too. That helps.
Looks brilliant, whereabouts in the world are you based? I'm curious as I would ideally like to build a similar structure in the next few years. While we don't experience as severe winters as you I'm worried because I'm further North Ill get less sunlight than yourselves. Keep making videos

Here in eastern Iowa and envious of your plans. Good luck.

I used to live in Springville. I live in Provo now. May I stop by to check your green house some day? Tks
sure. we do tours from time to time
@@trailbreakfarms how do I contact you?
Thanks
Thank you for the update! How are the fish? Have you eaten them?
Can you please share, what is the humidity level in the greenhouse during the winter season?
I need to do a better job of monitoring humidity in winter. I only worry about humidity in Summer when the fans are running and its dry in here. Otherwise things have been good.

Awesome setup sir. I'm just up the hill from you in mapleton. I'd love to see yer setup. Would that be possible
yes. we could work something out.
Your right to be concerned about the snow. The original just collapsed from the last storm. It was brutal. I feel terrible 28 years it lasted.
28 years is a long time! Sorry to hear about he collapse.
Totally agree that it was very sad, but take heart your version is made with stronger frame pieces and similar kits in the area did survive the storm…
Have you had any issues with condensation in your main pipes? What is your humidity there generally? Thanks.
yes. we've had condensation and water table issues. The pipes with holes in them is the way to go. Because of high water table we went with sold pipes which was a mistake. We should have just kept them above the water.
@@trailbreakfarms sad! Is it getting to the point where it blocks air flow? What about trying 2 fans on both ends, one drawing and one blowing? Thanks
what is the temperature outside while you are making this vid?
If I recall, it was mid 30's to low 40's. Hasn't been too cold temperature wise but we have had a ton of snow this year.

I like growing many varieties. Fun to see what works. But definitely include lots of citrus varieties including oranges, lemons and lime.
Looks like it’s doing quite well. The lemons look great. Think I would add a lime tree as both are fabulous for cooking with and adding to drinks. Have you grown green onions?

Do you think using rocks for the retaining walls and adding more tubes underground would help alleviate the need for additional heat in the winter?
I like Rocks for the retaining wall. Tubes help too. depends on how warm you want it. Mine would maintain 40 plus without additional heating.
I will be insulating mine in the next few days. Built a 18 x 70ft this summer and will probably finish in the next few weeks. Obviously wont be able to plant but test it out here in Michigan. Where do you source your plants, trees and thanks?
fourwindsgrowers(dot)com, toptropicals(dot)com, fast-growing-trees(dot)com are some good ones that I've ordered from
@@trailbreakfarms Thank you!
Sure hope those bananas are TRUE dwarfs as even dwarf bananas can get pretty tall if they have good fertile soil.
