It would have been nice to have the Decibel difference or at least what they are now revving at 4000rpm ? As many racetrack forbid over a certain decibel level Ex: 94DB . A dyno chart would be great to see. Congrats, Looks Great, Fabrication quality seems really good and it does sounds amazing!
It sounds more like the last of the aircooled 911`s with this exhaust. those had more of that raspy goodness in their exhaust tone from the factory. I like it that way. But the K-swap is where its really at for me, bring it on! (you might want to consider having a chat with Taylor Ray about turbo K-series and stock connection rods breaking... since he nearly burnt his Cefiro to the ground on its first trackday after a wild engine explosion..)
I have a o2 simulator you can have. It can do 2 post cat sensors. It's a little computer chip that sends a varying voltage back to the computer and make the ecu believe the converters are doing a very good job
I noticed that when test driving the Fabspeed Exhaust for comparison, you kept the revs just below 5K RPM... What gives?? These flat six engines don't get exciting until about 5200 rpm, in my experience. I have an 02, 3.2 liter 986 Boxster S with Fabspeed Exhaust, headers (no cats) CAI, IPD Plenum, throttle body, etc. and it sounds absolutely vicious... Luv it, might even go with Fabspeeds "spec boxster" Exhaust next.
Call me crazy, but that x-pipe doesn't scavenge in that orientation. It's just adding back-pressure making each bank fight with the other and causing a raspy noise while making less power. Cool project though 👍
So I noticed you made an actual x pipe vs fabspeeds which to me looks more like a connecting pipe vs a crossover. I'm not sure I have seen in it person or the inside of one. I'm curious about the sound difference in person? Did you have drone
This build is going to be the one that makes this channel blow up.
I hope so. Ben deserves it.

Sick man - I wish I could build something like that but with a couple mufflers in to make sound at track. Big ups in the fab skills !
Sounds awesome!

Haha I saw that. Windowing your block is a very interesting thing to have happen 😂 I have a built bottom end being worked on as we speak!
Craftsmanship 🙏🏼 great skill to have!
Oh one more tip for you. I got 200 cell flowmaster cats from Jegs super cheap for my 996 exhaust build. They work fine, no check engine lights at all.
What's up with the seats you have in there? They look great. Any video overview of it?

Care to share what that is? I’d like to get one

Headers next! :)
love the wheels!

Figure 8 demolition derby😊😮 .you're not crazy..
outstanding vid !
I bet your homemade exhaust makes more power. Sounds good, too.
Sounds really good
Awesome fab work
Epic fab work man!
preferr the sound of your system, loved the drive away
Love it! Care to sell it?
Same exact way I do my x pipes no better way!
Sounds good
Definitely raspy. You should get a stock exhaust and show power gains on a dyno.
Engines already pulled 🤷♂️
looks great, do you still have the template (to replicate)? Once i get my 911 I'd love to have that exhaust...

What are the wheel sizes/offsets? They look great.
Can you do one for a 997.2 and where are you located in Florida?
Brilliant
It is deeper and it sounds a lot better.
how much 2005 type s 997 exhaust x pipes because i already have after market muffler?
instant rowdy
Has anyone considered possibly fitting an ACTUAL GT3 exhaust for a fair comparison?
Hey can link me to the foulers you're using? I've got a need. Thanks!
Sick
Way more Raspy like a Datsun now lol 😆
Where are you located? Because I just bought a 996 Carrera and need some exhaust help, wow this thing is quiet.
How much would it cost for me to pay you to make me a exhaust like that cuz I’m planning on getitng a 996 with this year or coming into 2025
I think you need more in the way of resonators. The tone sounds great but it needs to be cleaned up a little. Too raspy.
I'm guessing that difference in sound when shifting has to do with the scavenge qualities of the x-pipe. Just my $.02
Do you have any 986 custom exhaust? I always wanted to do this using X pipe on 986.
Bitchn…..plane n simple! I deleted my muffler on my 986 for a bit Besides the crazy drone it sounded great. What are the mufflers you used-brand?
Hey would you build the same one for my 996
👍
06:19 - OG
14:46 - Homie’s
How much do those mini-mufflers quiet it down compared to just a straight pipe in it's place?
Not sure. Didn’t do a straight pipe test.
how much is it?
Where did you buy the mounting flanges?
Love what you’re doing, but I don’t think crossovers are a good idea on the 996/997 engine.
I have to wait until it is 25 years old before I can play with the exhaust… even then it will be illegal for road use.
At idle and low speeds it sounds more like a v8 than a v6
Flat 6***
Good welding, but unfortunately it no longer sounds like a Porsche Flat 6.
you need to fix your american flag the stars need to be on the left side
Not a good sound..
Oh dear, this sounds awful
💪
