vince will prob put him in the hof when he dies sad but true. look what he did with kamala sad shame. people who make hof are people vince like or make him look good by having them in it sadly.
Gang you're more of an admirable man than I thought as you may have been 6'9 almost 500 pounds but you realized what was important to you. God bless my wrestling brother
He was with Mid South in the late 70s? We moved to Louisiana around 85/86 and he was in Mid South/UWF then. I was only down there two years...I loved UWF & Gang, wish I woulda had more time to enjoy them. I was stoked when he came to WWF...but they didnt know what to do with him and almost buried his legend with that Akeem b.s.
I remember him from ICW...as Crusher Broomfield. Ronnie Garvin was nicknamed the One Man Gang. When Crusher left Poffo’s organization, he began using the OMG name. I always enjoyed his work in the ring. He does seem like a genuinely likable individual.
I remember seeing him for the first when i started watching mid-atlantic wrestling back in the early 80's,and Sir Oliver Humperdink was his manager..It was funny watching scrawny JImmy Valient try and wrestle this mountain of a man.
1 of the great personalities from the glory days of wrestling. A true gentlemen and a nice guy I hope he recovers ok he lost his home I believe in a storm there is a go fund me page fundraiser I believe make a donation if you can we have to support the good guys.
The One Man Gang Was Probably One Of The Toughest "Big Men" To Ever Step Into A Ring. It Would Be Nice To See Larger "Monsters" Going After The Main Event Talents In Various Wrestling Promotions.
OMG is one of the all time great heels. A great performer, and seems like a great guy in general. I know every generation feels like theirs is the best, but I really do think the '80s were a great time to be growing up watching wrestling.
Out of all the super-heavyweights not in the Hall of Fame, the OMG I think is the most deserving. Long career, made an awful Akeem gimmick go over and was put into all sorts of angles. His highlight probably was tag-teaming with the Big Boss Man. Plus us South Carolina boys have to stick together.
One Man Gang ! Your great, I seen you wrestle with Rick Rude against Bruiser Brody and Missing Link on UA-cam, your the last man standing, stay healthy brother. My dad seen you wrestle years ago, he said you always gave your all to put on a great show. GANG ! Yeah ! !
One Man Gang was awesome - he was intimidating, and the name "One Man Gang" was perfect for a big wrestler. ... But I thought Akeem was incredibly dumb. .. I was like "What the heck!"
Sadly, since George Gray was part of the failed 2018 WWE concussion lawsuit, he has not been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Other plaintiffs in that lawsuit were: Demolition, Powers of Pain, Sabu, King Kong Bundy, Billy Jack Haynes, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Adam Bomb, and Marty Jannetty. If you ever wonder why a wrestler isn't in the Hall of Fame, check the names of the 60+ plaintiffs.
much respect big man. watched you your whole career. a big good ol boy still and Vince dropped the ball with gangs career.glad he called out cm punk, Mr tap out.
I Remember when he was in the Mid South area in the late 1970's prior to Gang become a UWF Heavyweight Champion in 1986 before losing to Big Bubba Rogers ( Ray Traylor / Big Boss Man ).
At a WWF house show in San Diego as Akeem, we gave him & Slick a huge pop! My friends and I started singing along to "Jive Soul Bro" and dancing like fools in the isle. Other ppl started doing the same thing. His big smile and Slick for one night were baby faces in San Diego. Take care, OMG!
Most of the Heals Seem to be the real life baby faces. I met Terry Gordy (before I actually knew who he was) I was a little kid and this huge guy that talked kind of funny spent a couple of hours talking to me and actually entertaining me, My grandma was the essential crazy old lady wrestling fan and drug me along, some music played and boom there he was It blew my little mind, I knew he was a nice guy and everyone thought he was a bad guy, After his match he walked by smiled at me and patted me on the head while my grandma went bananas...
He put A LOT of weight back on. He was quite slim at one point while he was wrestling towards the end of his career. Not sure if he's still wrestling or not.
Got to see Gang on a USO tour back in the late 90's when he wrestled Doink the Clown on Johnston Atoll. I also sat at the next table from him in the island cafeteria. I will attest that he is one large humanoid. :-)
That Akeem gimmick with the Dr. of Style in his corner was ROTFL funny!!!!! Great Legendary performer, He never got the push he deserved because of his African heritage. Dam shame.
Gang at the HoF: "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *mic explodes, blood starts coming out of Eva Marie's ears, PA speakers shatter, Big Show applauds and cries a little*
I’m not sure I’ve forgiven him yet for splashing Jimmie “the boogie woogie man” Valiant in 1983 after his failed body slam challenge. I can still see Jimmy having convulsions after the splash
Kinda funny how so many of the wrestlers you hated as a kid turn out to be great people, while the ones you loved turned out to be shit stains.
So True. I totally agree
He seems like such a genuinely nice guy. And he was so hilarious in wrestling! And he could move right! I love the Gang!
To me has the best big splash of anyone just does it perfectly.
So glad to see the gang alive and well hopefully one day before his time they put him in the hall of fame.
If u watched this DVD, u would see why Akeem will never be in the WWE HOF.
+kenterminatedbygoogle Dame what did he do ? It can't be that bad .
Joe Mun
Buy the DVD, man.
Plus, he and 50 legends are suing the WWE for injuries that they didn't take care of.
*****
I ain't gonna lie: If Dwayne goes in, that would be pretty cool.
vince will prob put him in the hof when he dies sad but true. look what he did with kamala sad shame. people who make hof are people vince like or make him look good by having them in it sadly.
Akeem was one of my favourites, Legend and future Hall Of Famer
Other than JYD and Tony Atlas , Akeem was my favorite African American wrestler.
LOKITUPISBACK it's real to me dammit
Sounds like your favorite African American in a movie is C. Thomas Howell from Soul Man lol.
LOL
Lol! that's great!
He's Caucasian , he was playing a character in the WWE.
Gang you're more of an admirable man than I thought as you may have been 6'9 almost 500 pounds but you realized what was important to you. God bless my wrestling brother

I remember him in Mid South Wrestling in 1977.
He was with Mid South in the late 70s? We moved to Louisiana around 85/86 and he was in Mid South/UWF then. I was only down there two years...I loved UWF & Gang, wish I woulda had more time to enjoy them. Exactly......I live in Lake Charles La and he was a regular back in the day in Mid South !!!!
OMG was a good worker for a big man. He was a great heel.
He's still a big man! With a whole Lotta of personality.
One Man Gang seems like a really nice and easy going guy, like he enjoys talking about his wrestling days :)
The One Man Gang is a class act, one of the best big men ever imo.
WOOOWWW, HERES ANOTHER MONSTER BEHEMOTH FROM THE DAY... AN ICON, A LEGEND... THE ONE & ONLY... ONE MAN GANG!! 💥💥💥
One Man Gang is a class act. Just a good regular guy. Thanks for the memories Gang.
I remember him from ICW...as Crusher Broomfield. Ronnie Garvin was nicknamed the One Man Gang. When Crusher left Poffo’s organization, he began using the OMG name. I always enjoyed his work in the ring. He does seem like a genuinely likable individual.
Still one of my favorites to this day, "747 SPALSH" 1 MAN GANG was & still is AWESOME!!!!
One Man Gang...greatest UWF Heavyweight Champion
I always really liked the one man gang. I always rooted for him to win!
That's awesome that One Man Gang lives a clean life.
Caleb Yarb the consummate blue collar guy work get paid go home
His ass went broke
I really think that if Gang ever needed the money, he could probably find work as a foghorn.
"DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Make great truckers air horn
To the legend....... One Man Gang!!!!!
I remember him in UWF years ago. Was one of my favorites back in the 80's. Always wondered what happened to him.
he is a really nice man he has a facebook page were he interacts with fans.
I've got pictures from the early 80s at the sporatorium in dallas. You scared the piss out of me. Whe. I was 12 yrs old. Damn
Is Akeem still embracing his African roots? Also, is that chair he's sitting in made of adamantium.
Akeem the Dream I really was amazed by story in Wisconsin seen such a humble guy telling his stories
The One man Gang was one of my favs
This dude knew how to sell a move, one of the most entertaining wrestlers of all time
I remember watcing RF video signs in the crouds over 20 yrs ago, at the shows when I was a kid. Keep it up guys. The 747 One Man Gang was awesome.
He never swears or trash talks other wrestlers. Class act.
haha i always liked how this man wrestled...i liked his big man style!
I remember seeing him for the first when i started watching mid-atlantic wrestling back in the early 80's,and Sir Oliver Humperdink was his manager..It was funny watching scrawny JImmy Valient try and wrestle this mountain of a man.
This guy is really cool. He should be in the hall of fame
Good job One Man Gang for standing up to Vince and lettig him know that your family was more important than his money and circus!
French Fan yep Slick became a pastor

He seems like one awesome and cool dude to hang out with. Much respect to him.
Legend, when he was in WCW with Kevin Sullivan I genuinely believed he was a psycho
LOL, no it was Sullivan, the elevator never went to the top floor with crazy Irishman.
OMG is one of the all time great heels. A great performer, and seems like a great guy in general. I know every generation feels like theirs is the best, but I really do think the '80s were a great time to be growing up watching wrestling.
BOOOOAAH ! You are 1 of the greatest, brother.
His wars with jim duggan are classic
Gang was definitely one of those guys who was a must see growing up. No five star matches but plenty of the "IT" factor.
He was one of the 1st heels I became a fan of...I was fortunate enough to have caught him in UWF where they knew how to utilize a guy like that.
I woke my girlfriend up with this on high volume
+fiveinchesofwow OUCH!!!!! LOL!!!
ahahahhahahahhahaa. Classic, it should be an alarm clock.
haha I am lmao
Shit blew my ear drums out in headphones.
Hahahaha 🤣😅😂😃

WARFA NET ADVOCATE Vader and Bam Bam are the two other Super heavyweights I'd put on his level as far as HOF consideration.
One Man Gang ! Your great, I seen you wrestle with Rick Rude against Bruiser Brody and Missing Link on UA-cam, your the last man standing, stay healthy brother. My dad seen you wrestle years ago, he said you always gave your all to put on a great show.

Super nice guy that played the heel.
I really liked that, and he does seem like a good dude and I always liked the One Man Gang character especially in the UWF

He is one of my faves back in the day . And the akeem gimmick was fucking hilarious !!!
OMG was a great monster heel. His Chicago street gang member gimmick was cool.
Akeem was funny.
you were awesome 1 man gang.
One Man Gang was awesome - he was intimidating, and the name "One Man Gang" was perfect for a big wrestler. ... But I thought Akeem was incredibly dumb. .. I was like "What the heck!"
Michael Zoran akeem was awesome. His dance moves alone were more entertaining than the actual "wrasslin".
It was most ridiclous thing next dusty Rhodes pokadot n ugly ass sapphire on his side
Love OMG
love it when OMG made that sound
His trademark yell love it!
WHOA!! Scared the shit out of me with that bellow.

I will never forget the first time I saw this 500lb white man shucking and jiving with Slick. HILARIOUS.

Whats the difference between reflections and the normal shoots?
much respect big man. watched you your whole career. a big good ol boy still and Vince dropped the ball with gangs career.glad he called out cm punk, Mr tap out.
I Remember when he was in the Mid South area in the late 1970's prior to Gang become a UWF Heavyweight Champion in 1986 before losing to Big Bubba Rogers ( Ray Traylor / Big Boss Man ).
Akeem is the icon of a generation
Was such an imposing figure. Genuine person.
lol one man gang was the shit!
Gang and Slick, a couple of straight shooters 😁
He Was For Real!!!!!
Great wrestler
He seems like a class act.
Favorite heal character ever
Turns out he's a real life babyface
Most of the Heals Seem to be the real life baby faces. "How do you feel about being a black man, Pal?" That's definitely something Vince would ask.
He put A LOT of weight back on. He was quite slim at one point while he was wrestling towards the end of his career. Not sure if he's still wrestling or not.
This man pinned HBK at Wrestlemania 5. Dropped that 747 splash for the 1 2 3! Then danced with the Slickster
Got to see Gang on a USO tour back in the late 90's when he wrestled Doink the Clown on Johnston Atoll. I also sat at the next table from him in the island cafeteria. I will attest that he is one large humanoid. :-)
I kept looking a the chair the Gang was sitting on and waiting for it to collapse!
I was always frustrated that Akeem was similar in size to Earthquake but always seemed to lose, lol. So much fun to watch.
That Akeem gimmick with the Dr. of Style in his corner was ROTFL funny!!!!! Great Legendary performer, He never got the push he deserved because of his African heritage. Dam shame.
I used to do the One Man Gang shriek🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:15 Really hope he randomly did that noise out in public! Imagine sitting next to him on the bus! 😂
Oh cool George Jung from the movie blow is working for RF video now
Ha!!!! That's funny as hell.
Gang at the HoF:
"DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*mic explodes, blood starts coming out of Eva Marie's ears, PA speakers shatter, Big Show applauds and cries a little*
It’s an atrocity that One Man Gang/Akeem isn’t in the wwe hall of fame.
when one man gang screams out "booooooooooo" its his food call
Accompanied by his manager....SLICK!
I’m not sure I’ve forgiven him yet for splashing Jimmie “the boogie woogie man” Valiant in 1983 after his failed body slam challenge. I can still see Jimmy having convulsions after the splash
The interviewer looks like he could be Mitch Hedberg's twin brother.
This guy was a bad ass
Akeem was dope
he has still an hell of frame
