    Having an actual gas mask with filters would be useful for staying inside of smoke from smoke grenades if you plan on using them a lot which some people do.

      That is very true. Its not something I've encountered in game as I just tend to use them for distraction or brief concealment when moving. However if you plan to stand for extended amounts of time in smoke clouds the filters may help.

    I’m trying to do a gas mask look and finding an airsoft rated m50 gas mask
    This was a very good quality video 👍🏼

      I hope you manage to find your mask. It's always a good look on the field, not many seem to do it.
      Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
      Let me know how you get on with the m50 and if you manage to get one sorted. Be interested to know how you find it.

      @@Real_Mick3y6there are ones on Amazon that can take hits. Of course you can get the mask and custom order some lenses though

    i tend to use airsoft as a form of tactical training, so being able to replicate my bug out gear would be great. would you say most CBRN masks would be strong enough to survive an airsoft match?

      Hi. Apologies for the late reply. The main thing to check out when choosing a mask is the eye protection. Most lenses will not be rated for impacts. If they are your good. Otherwise you will need to modify the mask with impact resistant perspex as I did with this one here. Next look at teeth protection in most cases they should withstand a hit but if you have any doubts then again modify for extra protection.
      Hope this helps.

    Rather funny my first time doing Airsoft, I show up with full MTP kit, osprey mk4a plate carrier with ballistic plates, webbing and a gas mask,, go to get kit rental with the person there thinking it a joke

    What about smoke grenades? They'll help to easier breath in smoke

      @rockbottomairsoft  5 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely. Not the one I have as all filters have been removed. But in general a mask would filter the smoke down.

    How about older gas masks just changing the lenses will do?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  10 місяців тому

      It's a bit of a judgment call when you get the mask. If it will protect what you want it to protect such as teeth then yeah, change the lenses. In some cases you need to know the lens housings will hold up as well. Some older masks certainly shouldn't be used with a filter though.
      Hope this helps.

      @@alwaysgopro_plFor the MC1, you should avoid the filter. Replace it with either a polish FP5 filter or a 40mm dummy filter. If you do end up getting it safe to run, do let me know as I'm considering trying it myself.

    If it doesn't protect my eyes I'm not interested. If going for a post apocalyptic commando look like the game is set in a nuclear wasteland durring the holocaust or a meteor hit the earth and there's dust storms I need to protect myself from these fit in quite well.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Рік тому

      As standard these won't protect your eyes, with replacement lenses though your good to go. I agree, for some of the events available a gas mask fits right in.

    I've always wanted to stick a pc fan inside a fake filter so it can pump cool air into the mask itsef

      Sorry for the late reply. That is a great idea and something that I've seen done before. It can be effective at making the inside of the mask a bit more bearable. I hope your project goes well, let me know how it is if you get it done.

    Is a gsr suitable for airsoft

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Рік тому +2

      The main thing to check if your thinking of a gas mask is eye protection. The lenses are unlikely to offer enough protection for Airsoft use. If that's the case your going to be looking at modifying it so it can have ballistic rated lenses. Check the specs on the mask if they are rated for ballistic impact sufficient for airsoft then your good to go. Another thing worth remembering is to try it out before a game if you can and then you will get a feel for if you can manage a full day in it. They can be hot, sweaty and not easy to breath in.
      Hope this helps.
