Thank you for joining me in this VERY VULNERABLE video today. I'm going to be honest, it made me so insecure that I almost didn't post it but I am trying very hard to be okay with imperfection. On that note, here is something I FAILED AT - the audio levels are all over the place in this video because I should have used a lav mic in the house but I used a normal shotgun mic and there was a lot of echo and weird stuff going on. Since I "failed" at the audio in this video, I purchased a great lav so that these vlog style videos will be easier to watch moving forward. I tried a new video form (vlogging), got out of my comfort zone, failed at the audio, analyzed the failure and then worked to improve it for the future. Hopefully that somehow inspires you to be okay failing too. I love you all so much. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Let me tell you about you, Gabi! I was initially drawn to your channel because you champion older women like me. I'm thrilled by each and every one of those make overs, because the women are already beautiful and you enhance them using the beauty nature gave them. I always feel you're authentic. That you always felt older women were much more interesting, because of their varied life experiences and you wanted them to shine their light especially on special occasions. I so appreciate the work you put into your videos to often purchase on your own and research an entire brand or an array of eyeliners, eye shadows, concealers, foundation, mascara, you name it. You present solutions to common make up issues. (I'm trying to use your face lifting blush technique as well as shading and contouring areas, etc.) And/or introduce new brands or new products. You also introduce new voices in collabs and guests. Thank you for all that you've already been doing! Really enjoyed this candid "chit chat." At 70 I still deal with being authentic and true to myself as opposed to people pleasing and also with self-worth. I'm so glad you're changing your approach for you and your sons. As scary and painful as "failure" can be, it can empower us as well to regroup and move forward. My failure this year has been in not claiming my retirement disbursements as I'd planned to. Just got too lazy. So that's my #1 priority for 2025, to shore up my "finances." It will be nice to see you cleaning for Pom Pom (your girl in a house full of boys), tidying after your trip, etc. It will be interesting to see what's new for you and beauty in 2025! Looking forward to it!

I failed at making myself a priority this year. I had to take care of my elderly parents. In the process of moving them, my dad dies. So it's just my mom now and I moved her near me into a AL facility. During all that stress I let myself go and stopped working out, stopped eating good, and just wore myself ragged. I felt like I aged 10 years in just this year. ugh. But I decided in October it was time again to take care of ME. So I'm back at working out, eating good, losing weight, reading my Bible and letting go of things that don't help me be my best self. Thank you for this video, it was precious. We all need to work better at being open, honest and real to others.

I love watching your videos. In 2025 I will not be watching any sale videos no matter how much I like the influencer. No Sephora, Ulta, Amazon or Black Friday sales. No "ND's new eye palette release" or other releases. I have to stop buying stuff and use what I have across the board. With that said, I want to see videos on "shop my stash", "declutter what you don't love and use, or what doesn't work great every time", "quick makeup when you don't feel great", "refreshing your makeup later in the day", "party makeup that doesn't look like you're trying too hard", "how to correct mistakes like when eye shadow or liner goes wrong", "mixing colors when something isn't the perfect color like foundation, blush, or lipstick"

I have turned down 5 jobs this year that I really wanted to accept, but didn’t have the confidence. So I’m stuck in a toxic workplace feeling angry with myself. My parents constantly told me I was useless, my ex husband believes that women can’t manage without men. My own 2 daughters are extremely successful in their chosen fields, one in corporate business and the other in her own business. I succeeded at giving them confidence to be themselves, but don’t have it for me. Thank you Gabi for your honesty and integrity ❤❤❤

Turning down those jobs wasn’t a failure-it was a reflection of where you were emotionally at the time. But here’s the thing: you’re acknowledging it now, and that awareness is powerful. You have the ability to change your story. Confidence isn’t something we magically have; it’s something we build, step by step. And you’ve already taken so many brave steps by recognizing your worth and showing up here.
Thank you for sharing your heart and being so open. You are NOT stuck-you’re in the process of rediscovering yourself, and I truly believe you’ll find your way to a better place. Sending you so much love and encouragement-you’ve got this! ❤❤❤

Love your messages today. I'm a 61 year old woman, daughter, mother, wife, cousin, sister, mother in law, daughter in law... and I worked in elementary schools for 22 years. Remember that no matter what you tell your children, they emulate and associate with what they see in their parents more than anything they are told to do or that they are. You can tell your kids that they possess many positive traits, which is absolutely true, and important that you tell them, but if you are not using the same adjectives on yourself in their presence they will not hear what you are telling them about themselves.

I let myself sink back into depression, my anxiety was at an all time high, and I too lost relationships with people I thought were friends/family. Great video, Gabi!! I agree with having to let friendships go. I have 2 friends of 20+ years, I continue to try to get together with them for suppers. They never commit to come through. I need to back away and try to move on instead of thinking I can fix this friends separation. My failure is trying to fix relationships that no longer want to exist. It's so hard, because our friendships have always been times of laughter, smiles and tears. Thank you for this video!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!! ❤️🎄❤️🎄

TirTir. Your videos are fun, empowering, and enlightening. Videos on clean, natural products and skincare brands would be great. As a 62 yr old woman I’ve learned that failure gets a bad rap. Failure is simply a lesson. And lessons help us- force us-to grow. No failures, no growth. As a reader I can tell you that all great stories have great villains. Villains help the main character grow and succeed. And we are all characters in each other’s stories. So whether you think you’re the villain or not, it’s all about one’s journey to personal growth. Have a great holiday season and looking forward to your next year!

TRNR skin. This year I failed at being patient with older friends as they enter their 80s and their cognitive skills start to diminish. As someone who turned 61 this year and am feeling the physical effects of aging, I know I need to be more patient with my older friends. I would like to see how to apply makeup for the over 50 in less than 30 minutes. At the beginning of this year, my skin changed from oily, acne prone rosacea (to the point that other than moisturizer, blush and powder, I didn't like to put any products on my face) to dryer skin with stress activated rosacea. My skin care and makeup routine that had been fine forever suddenly stopped working. My pores seemed to become ginormous and deep lines started showing up on my face. Doing research on the internet, I discovered UA-cam and that's how I discovered you and your wonderful videos. Over this year, I have purchased so much makeup and skin care and discovered a new love for skin care and makeup. However, my 20 to 25 minute makeup routine now takes an hour. Please help me get back on track with an easier and shorter makeup routine. I find your advice and your spirit so appealing and I love spending time with you, and I love all that you do! Thank you.

Your success comes from your ability to be genuine to be yourself to be vulnerable. This is something that so many people should learn.

TRNR SKIN I would love to see more videos like this one as it makes us think about our lives, people that are in them, are they toxic or a positive, how can we better ourselves to accept the challenges in our lives. Also, would like to see maybe travel vlogs or a day in the life of Glam Girl Gabi. What about a video on how you chose your content for the video, how you get your sponsors and promotional products. Love your videos. I’m 78 years old and have always looked young for my age. Never told anyone how old I was. My mother always said age is just a number and had no problem revealing hers.
14 years ago when breaking up with a toxic (7 year younger) boyfriend I starting going to the gym where I met some women who were so open about their ages that I just started revealing mine. It was freeing and I could be totally me. Today we are all still friends and transparency really does help in making new friendships! Also the wisdom one acquires through the years of course.
I also went silver during the pandemic and even though my head is authentic, I still get people always guessing that I’m in my 50s. I am so grateful. I love make up and do learn from you guys online on how to apply it perfectly for my age.
Video idea. Older women embracing their age to their full potential. Make up, hair and clothes that are appropriate for our vintage ladies to reach their full potential and make them like what they see in the mirror.
BTW Another good book LET THEM by Mel Robbins addresses many of the issues you had in your video today.

Being your authentic self is never a failure. Having imperfect house is not a failure, it is life with all it's struggles, ups and downs. Your chanel is a sucess because you are real and willing to show that. This vid was one of the best you have made. If more people were willing to look inside themselves , the world would be a better place. My suggestion for future vid would be: we all have blushes we don't use, or don't know how to use on our skin tones, "how to layer different colour blushes together to give multidimmentional, rich blush and use those not so perfect purchases" and my preference would be for haru haru wonder.❤

It would be interesting if you tried them all on and explained the different performance on your lashes, pro and con. Pom Pom is so cuuuute! Gabi, I relate to the perfectionist syndrome. Fear of failure drove me professionally. I hated losing more than I loved winning. That attitude proved to be healthy as it pushed me to become a knowledge master in my industry and I loved it. I had a very rewarding career and the ability to retire at 60. That is when I discovered I didn’t need to keep climbing. I learned to stop being so hard on myself, start to accept myself and embrace the joy of fulfillment. Toxic people were thankfully very few, largely work related and we have parted ways. Oh sweetie, you have me in tears over here. I am like YEAH, I am cheering for you like you’re my kid! I think when we approach our 40’s mentality in life changes. I see you think deeply and therefore feel things deeper than most. I am happy you are finding your way and share your insight with us. I appreciate your transparency and relate with so much of your content.
My biggest failure this year is letting my kids and my husband down. I had a traumatic brain injury years ago and it along with other health issues prevents me from a lot of activities and tasks. If I have an appointment outside of our community it will take me a few days to recover usually. My kids are the same age as your kiddos and they are in a lot of extracurriculars . They go to two different schools this year and I am exhausted everyday from the transporting. Thankfully my husband helps and he never misses any activities. I feel guilt and shame everyday simply to have them see me fatigued. I don’t want them to remember childhood and think mom was very ill with all of her issues. I also had to let go of the ‘having everything be perfect.’ The great part about life is that nothing stays the same and change is imminent. I always tell my kids, “It’s not the strongest nor the most intelligent that survive but the one that is most adaptable to change.”

What a gorgeous person you are ❤ Your kindness and generosity are so very appreciated. I would love to see videos that feature the best ways to take “everyday” skincare and makeup through an entire day into evening. I used to be able to touch up my makeup but now I have to reapply sun protection, colour correction and concealer, touch up the finish, and even go to glamorous makeup for an evening out. I don’t want to start from the beginning several times a day. I need help modernizing my makeup day.

I looove when we get to see vulnerable Gabi! In my opinion, it’s endearing to talk about imperfections, insecurities, and everything in between because EVERYONE has them. I failed this year at not being able to come to terms with the age that I am and embrace it. I really dislike getting older, and it’s very hard for me to deal with. But, I love your channel and I look forward to your content every week. You bring a lot of joy to my days, so thank you!❤

Tir tir has been a game-changer for my 60 year old face. Remember you deserve everything you can dream, Gabi. 💝 I would love to see more videos on live models with real challenges. Hyperpigmentation, lines, wrinkles, the whole gamut.

I suffer tremendously with anxiety...I know that struggle. I never feel like I am enough, and a lifetime of disappointment has only re-enforced that. I have never been enough, therefore, I am not enough. Miss Gabi, you are enough, you are strong and smart and kind. (You are beautiful but our worth needs to be based on more than our looks, but your beauty is tremendous!) Your kindness shines in your eyes and your soul. I can see it, and I can feel that.

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life; no-one comes to God except through Me (John 14:6). Jesus wants you to to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Only by repenting of sin and trusting in Jesus to guide your life are you spiritually safe for all eternity. I encourage you to prayerfully read The Holy Bible.

You are the villain in far far fewer people's story then you are the hero! And that's what you need to focus on. You have so many people who absolutely adore and love you and people like me wouldn't know what we would do if we didn't have you and your channel in our lives. Wishing you all the best for the new year and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with that beautiful family of yours!❤😊❤😊

Hi Gabi. Really loved this video. I was a people pleaser too but the older I got (currently 66) the more I felt it necessary to voice how I felt and not do things I didn't want to do. Of course I always try to be diplomatic and kind when saying no - because that's how I would want to be treated. My parents passed away very close to each other and one of the lessons I learned was that life is to short to be unhappy and you must do what brings you joy. Understand it doesn't bring me to joy to say no to people BUT it gives me a sense of self worth to be true to myself.
My failure this year was I stopped exercising due to arthritis problems in most of my joints. However I came to the realization that I had to get MOVING. Now I make it a point to do some walking every day and I actually feel better.
I've been on a tear buying makeup since black Fri (and before). I'm struggling with how to organize it all - both skin care (bathroom) and makeup (my vanity - not in the bathroom). What organizational tools do you use? Would love to see a video on that.
A merry and joyful Christmas to you and your family!

    Hi Gabby ☺️👋
When I watch your videos, you remind me of myself. When I'm feeling lost or feeling beaten down by the world around me, I remind myself that having a caring heart is nothing to be ashamed of. I've been through a lot, but I refuse to let those things change me into something I am not. There are times when I shed tears and fall asleep praying even for those who've done me wrong, and when I done wrong, I make it a mission to do better.
You're beautiful inside and out and deserve many blessings. You've worked hard, and don't ever doubt you deserve good things in life.
    Sending love ❤️
