  • In 2012, the first large-scale international assessment of financial literacy took place. More than one in six students in the United States failed to reach the baseline level of proficiency in financial literacy. Educating our society on financial issues is crucial to an individual’s economic security and our country’s prosperity. Fundamental knowledge of money management, savings, and investing are only gaining in importance. We should work to demystify financial topics and work to get rid of the taboo about talking about money.
Ryan currently works as an Economist at PwC, predominantly in the Financial Transactions Transfer Pricing practice. he has becoming a national expert on treasury‐related transfer pricing issues and has assisted treasury and tax teams in designing, pricing, documenting, and defending transactions including intercompany revolvers, loans, cash pooling, and other financial instruments. He is also an experienced published author on issues related to negative interest rates, profit split methodologies, among other economic and finance topics. Most importantly, he is passionate about economic education and financial literacy at all levels of society.

If colleges teach personal finance, they will lose their students, who will realize the burdens and risks of taking student loans, and consequently, decide not to go to college.

What's the problem with going abroad and studying for free in countries such as Germany and Norway?

This is my teacher and I’ve never felt more comfortable in my own skin and situations knowing I can always shoot him an email. He worked while in school, yes he may be a different breed to some. But what he is saying is there’s so many strategies too, that avoid u taking on all that debt or feeling like ur not financially stable or can’t pay it off. His class is the only class in the US education system that I truly loved, and understood.

If everyone knew about personal finance, the economy in its current configuration would collapse. Our system depends on poor bets.

The idea that if it was their fault, they couldn't own it peacefully is the blood-curdling part.
