Also, I just want you to know... I just got into figs and your taste testing videos are a huge help... You really know how to describe the flavors and always make it sound so good... Thanks for the help.
I just got some Chicago hardy fig cuttings from you, Ben. They look great. Thanks for including the website info too. Looking forward to seeing how they do.
Hello Ben, my name is Marek and I'm from Poland. Thank you for interesting videos about figs. I've had a fig tree in the orchard for over ten years. This is probably a variation of brown Turkey but has different fruit than your brown Turkey - I can send you a photo. For several years, the tree does not freeze, and this year I collected 80 sheep breeds. Figs were tasty and I encouraged to grow figs with a view to selling fruit .. Here where I live the temperature only sometimes falls below -15 degrees. Figi plans to grow in a plastic tunnel and protect them from frost as will be needed. I am terrified by the number of Fig varieties and I do not know which variety to choose for growing. I would like the variety of figs to have maximum fruit, a lot of summer fruit (breze) and early autumn crop to make the most figs mature. I would love to ask you for help in choosing this variety. Probably the fruits of the Florea variety are beginning to mature early in the fall but the fruits are said to be small, and can be low yield? I was also thinking about a variety of Celeste, Dalmatie, Ronde de Bordeaux (this variety probably has no fig breba) and the fruits are small? Is brown Forest Turkey ripe in autumn much later than the fruit of the Florea variety and you collect more fruits from this variety than from the Turey brown variety? You have a collection of varieties and you can compare them all. Once again, please help. I apologize for errors but I am writing with the help of a translator.
I always enjoy your videos on figs. Your Ronde de Bordeaux has such a different shape and color from mine I was wondering if it might have mutated on the large side branch. The RdBs I've been eating all season are black and always very round, not oval shaped. I started a thread on fig mutation in the forum "Ourfigs" to discuss this.
Im not sure this one was in ground, not sure if it had any affect on shape though. I do have a couple of trees from various sources, so I'll be able to compare next year.
Thank you Ben ! I live my fig love through your videos ! So much so I got my self a ronde d.b. , and the fact that you mentioned you preferred the ronde over the Violet de bardeaux makes the wait for my first crop even sweeter! Best regards to you and yours !
Hey Ben, what's your recommendations for someone who LOVES super potent honey figs, and also tropical and melony tasting figs? All in one would be out of this world if such a variety exists!

How do you keep your fig tree in small container with out Root bound ? And have Figs !
you could pot up to larger size or in the winter pull tree out of pot and prune the roots. it only takes a minute with a shovel
