Yeah. I also have problems with the grabpack when putting the batteries in the sockets. So, most of the time you just have to jump then shoot.

It is still in demo. The Gas production Area and Home sweet home are the only completed area. This is a full walkthrough of the game up to Home Sweet Home. That's why it says in the caption "home sweet home completed"

We are not quite sure how that happens. Maybe, a bug or something to do with poor internet connection? In my case, when i shoot my hand while holding the battery and I am standing too close to the socket, the battery may be lost after shooting. Same when plugging the power cord from the Home Sweet Home going to the outlet under the statue. Do not stand too close to the outlet or else the cord will disappear after shooting.
