We had a rescue black labrador from age 4 months until he was just over 15 years. I have great memories of him. He was our baby and a great travel companion. We will forever miss him, but we have stopped crying after five months and always talk about his antics and our memories now. He rarely barked and just thought everyone was a friend. Needless to say he was not a guard dog. He looked scary but would lick you to death.
When you cried the dogs melted my heart 💖💖😍❤

I grew up with a lab called Prince☺️🌞. He was a calm and kind dog. Very patient and Loved dried fish snacks ♥️. Then came Monty. He was a goofball, happy and loved his walkies. He also loved fish and potatoes 😅♥️♥️. This was in the 80's
All labs are so so soft and gentle with young children.

Lab has the most emotional and human liked eyes. They are so smart and this why Sully who is also a Lab was presented to President Bush after he lost his Wife.

Labs are easy to train because they want to please us - they will do their very best to figure out what we want them to do, so that that can make us happy - I also have a Pekingese & he is very sweet, doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, but he couldn’t care less if he makes me happy, as long as he’s happy ! LOL

Our chocolate was the best pet ever. He was such a great protector of our son while they were growing up. Love them!!!

I think what makes Labs so easy to train is because they inherently want to please us - I have a Pekingese, also, so I can tell you that not every breed is so anxious to please - the Peke is a little sweetheart, doesn’t have a mean bone is his body, but he’s not much into pleasing or minding - lol !
Haha dogs have different personalities depending on their breed too. Zazu understands emotions very well, that is why we say he is half human 😊

My Monte came running and started licking me to Anesthesia...well acc to him .
The pain wasn’t relieved but certainly more tolerable .
Never gets angry or annoying ....hw can I repay the happiness he has given me idk

I want to thank you for your amazing videos which have helped keep my spirits up during this terribly long and lonely isolation since 3/13 SIP. I had GSPs growing up and hoped to rescue adopt one but all were snatched up early on during SIP. So far, no luck. Seeing the love and companionship you share with Zazu and Walle is what I hope for. Zazu is adorable! I also have a yellow lab, they’re the best dogs in the world but like all great dogs, they have a great owners who’s behind it & have took the time to train & care for them! 😁 he is a very lucky pup!

I had a Black Lab she's in heaven now she was my best friend and like a sister to my daughters. I miss her so much she was such a sweetheart too, my Mom said she was ornery and she was. I had put a lot of time and patience into training her so many things. The first thing I remember teaching her was to trust me, and I had taught her with positive encouragement for learning and toy or ball for reward, and tons of belly rubs 🤗😉.

Labs are amazingly gentle around kids. After having one, I don’t think I could ever get any other breed.
Before you do; a friendly tip : study up as much as you can absorb about them, cause you'll learn something new from/about them on a daily basis, i sure am/did from my four 😯

Our was trained to be a gaurd dog. She is kept away from stangers and we play tug a war and sic. She is very gentle with the kids and very protective.

Thank you for all the tips. Also how soon can you start training a dog to be a service dog? Can you shower them every 2 weeks?
Zazu is a Therapy Dog, which is very different than a service dog. Yes, showering them every 2 weeks has worked great for us without any problems.
If this helps at all I am getting a service dog and they start training obedience skills at 6 to 8 weeks old and public access skills at 4 to 6 months old and task training at around 6 months old until fully trained which can take 2-4 years depending on the dog. Training after getting a public access test is necessary for your dog and owner training requires a professional trainer to assist you. Hope this helps ❤️🦮
