Great review, guys! When my fiancé brought this home I didn't think much of it, but after a few game plays I must say that it's a fun, short and interesting game. It grew on me and now I'm always happy to play it especially when we have a guest (or two) over that doesn't want to play a "big" game and isn't a hardcore gamer.
Qwixx is a great little filler game. It is also one of the only game I managed to convice my grandmother of playing instead of Yatzee, She loves Yatzee and for 30 years she almost never played anything else.
Hey if you're still around I do have a question regarding "Locking Out" @ 4:51 in your video, my wife and I run into this pretty often. Both of us can lock a color when the two white 6's are rolled just as in your video, but what if Bob wanted to lock out his yellow at the same time as Bertha instead of his red? Does he get the extra lock point as well or does just the roller get the extra point?
I play this game in my family and it has success ... We also changed little bit rules and make it quicker (for example allowing to other players to take unused color dice)
Just got this at Target and started reading the rules. Lost Cities popped in my head. I guess because of that push you luck element. Thanks for the review!
I don't want to be too negative in here but this isn't really a proper game. What I mean is that you buy nothing but a couple of coloured dice most of us have anyway laying around, so game component-wise it is really not that exciting, all you need is those score pads. I'm sure the game play is OK but I feel it's a bit pointless to spend money on it. If there were customised dice it would be a different matter all together, of course. I enjoyed the review though and watched it despite the fact I saw the previous version so I was aware of the fact that the game is not the greatest, but still! This is what you call commitment. I try to watch everything what Tom puts out, I'm such a loser... :)
The Deluxe version of this game is nicer because it has dry erase boards and markers and also the flip side of each board has a different color layout to make the game a bit trickier.

What a difference a year makes. I saw the video that you did a year prior, and both Tom and Melody game a "bad -> meh" review of the game.
trying to learn the game so bear with me but from a strategy standpoint, @4:35 wouldn't "Bob" take a 9 on the yellow and 7 on the red instead?

you miscounted Bertha's score. She should have 50 points, not that anyone is counting.

Just found this at the thrift store for $1.99. I was pretty excited to add it to our game collection.

I'm with Amy and Holly -- meh game. :) If I want to chuck dice and have fun doing it, I'll stick to King of Tokyo, Zombie Dice or Elder Sign.
I agree, this looks like a bingo hall game.
Five dice turns to six dice magically ;)
50 for Bertha.
Oh yeah? I've got my money on Billy Bob!
Thanks for another great review girls!
Dat smooth jazz doe.
Amy is so.. colorful :)
A big "Meh" for me as well...
