Thanks Madi for more recommendations and for your playlists. I knew about half of these bands already but with the sheer volume of great music being released all the time it can be hard to keep up. Not that I'm complaining. 😁🦇💀🖤
Wonderful list!! Thanks for your videos! Two of my favourite bands are here: This Cold Night, and Astari Nite! I love that you hand painted your jacket. I was debating on doing this as well, but I'm too afraid I'll mess it up
Both of those bands are so good! Also I have a full jacket diy video that I’ve been working on so maybe that will help! You definitely don’t have to do anything fancy! My purse diy video might give you some tips too! 🖤
Think I'm goth rock in my heart mostly, but I do love most sorts too. Thanks for all those recommendations. I usually discover new goth music either here on UA-cam or on Spotify. By the way... You look awesome 🖤🖤🖤🖤
A few of my favorite are ACTORS, Astari Night, The Bellwether Syndicate, Black Angel, Black Rose Burning, Christ vs. Warhol, Detoxi, Fearing, Hapax, La Scaltra, Nox Novacula, Nyx Division, October Burns Black, Ötzi, Rosegarden Funeral Party, Shrouds, Tears for the Dying, and Vazum.
Great video, I'm definitely going to check out This Cold Night, Necromancers Unions and The Long Lost! The new Wake album was amazing! Have you heard Shadowhouse? They are one of my favorite newer Goth bands! They just came out with their second LP at the end of last year! Pink Turns Blue came out with a new album this year as well and this awesome Post Punk/Darkwave band Je T'aime.
Thank you so much Madi! We have such similar taste, of course I have Jason Priest, but I also have all of the other records you mentioned on vinyl as well, all great recommendations for anyone who isn't familiar already!
Nice...been working again on my record collection. I used to have so many and I regret selling off a good amount. Kept all the goth ones though lol. Ordered the Mekong vinyl, Not a bad song on "end of the world" and I like the transparent vinyl.. Also, ordered Ductapes "ruh"... liking the Jason priest..need to grab that one next time around , wanted to also grab some of Minuit machine's vinyl... but, they're sold out..anyway, I personally like the recommendations looking forward to the part 3
Great list! I'll definitely be checking out the ones I don't already know. I love the Long Losts and those Necromancer's Union and Vampyrean albums are great. Vampyrean reminds me a lot of early 69 Eyes, which is nice because I haven't much cared for 69 Eye's recent records.😅 One album I'd add is Latent Powers by Ships in the Night, if you like with house and ethereal darkwave it is GORGEOUS, and Alethea Leventhal is a pillar of the Chalottesville Goth scene. Also, my favourite band ever The Birthday Massacre are releasing a new album VERY soon! The singles have been great!
this is great! i tend to get stuck in a rut of listening to the same old familiar stuff, so i'm looking forward to poking thru your spotify lists and finding new favorites
Depends on who you ask. Most people consider Depeche Mode to be goth adjacent and The Smiths are typically considered post-punk which can be under the goth umbrella.
just curious do you like any bands from the 60's and 70's? in case you didn't know (you might) the first band to ever be referred to as "gothic rock" in the western press was 'THE DOORS' who i feel don't get nearly as much credit for their contribution to the "genre" as they deserve. mostly because they didn't have the "goth look" (neither did 'JOY DIVISION' but never mind) but also i think i they had been british it would be a very different story. then there's 'SCREAMIN' JAY HAWKINS' but that's a whole 'nother rant. he's also not counted because of his era and his country of origin.
A large portion of my record collection is actually 60’s and 70’s music! Maybe I’ll talk about some of it at some point! Some of my favorites are The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, CCR, Moody Blues, Deep Purple, Mamas and the Papas, etc. (I mostly got into the rock and punk stuff in that era)
Just because one writer used the phrase "gothic rock" in a concert review that doesn't make the Doors goth, any more than Steppenwolf using the phrase "heavy metal" in a song makes them a metal band.
I adore that people like you still exist. I just couldn't do it anymore with all the harassment I was facing in my military career and now I don't feel it like I use to but the goth aesthetic is still deep down who I am. It's funny because every time my style morphs and I think I have fully ungothed goths are like "no no no, we will just create a new sub genre" for instance 'dark academia' because I was going to school sort of stealth goth. ;D
Just remember you don't have to dress a certain way to be Goth. Many Goths only dress out when going to concerts, clubs, and the like and the old schoolers like myself may not have even dressed out then if going out straight from their job. Being Goth is now and always has been being a fan of specific styles of music and supporting those who make it in some manner.
Listening to Mekong's End of the World Album some of the songs make me think if they changed the tone of some of the instruments or increased the tempo they could be metal songs. As a guy who loves Goth and Metal music this band is a great recommendation. With Traitrs I definitely heard the cure influcence and also the odd bit of industrial too like the beginning of the song "Thin Flesh"
Yes!! The Wake!! (Great Cleveland, OH goth band)...got into them back in 2001 from the awesome Cleopatra 'Goth Box' vhs video compilation. The Wake track 'Christine' was instantly a favorite...along with Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Chameleons, Switchblade Symphony, Corpus Delecti, Skeletal Family, and Christian Death!! Also Madi (and anyone isn't familiar)...definitely check out another awesome obscure 90s Ohio goth band called Lestat ('Vision of Sorrows' album from 1994!!).
Vlad Janicek from Nosferatu is such a nice guy.I remember meeting him at a Batcave seminar. He’s very easy to talk to and he has a real treasure trove of 90’s goth memory’s🖤🎼😎🦇🎸🕸☠️⚰️☠️🕷🤘💀🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♂️
Yay, this is exactly what I need. Ive written a list of popular ones to go in my "Education" (I call it "educating myself" when I listen to an album to learn a band... started the saying when I listened to RATM for a partner, not a goth band but they're kickass. And I still say it to say). Kickass album! I've been recommended Bauhaus by someone who likes goth music, and she prompted me because I'd only listened to one of their songs (you know which one lmao)
I'm one of those guys who does like some Gothic Metal as well as traditional Goth. Astari Night sounds great. I love Dark Wave as well. ¿ A goth band from swampy Florida huh ? ¡ Ha ! ¡ Ha ! Kidding.
Astari Nite is Florida's greatest treasure. Seen them play at Will's Pub in Orlando and at the Crowbar and Orpheum in Tampa, several times. They are awesome musicians and really cool dudes - happy to chat with folks before / after their show - super friendly. Great music videos, too!
Awesome list, I will definitely check out the bands on here that I don't know. Funny story about that particular album by The Wake, when I went to propose to my wife I had my daily Spotify mix on at the time and without any planning at all Marry Me popped on as I was proposing. Needless to say we both agree that Hammer Hall is the best on the album but it isn't either of our favorites 😁
I don’t always look into the members of the bands I listen to but I do have a poc goth playlist that I know has a few so you could check out that! open.spotify.com/playlist/3iAuHFGEobOseyIoxBM5vF?si=9b5LGO5nSYiSpu3Qbcl-tA
That probably won’t be for a while if I do, but I do have a deathrock playlist on Spotify! open.spotify.com/playlist/2O7nzn2jAiDm20SvYeLGLi?si=BSJgjD8GQVWHSRTsh3fCCA
does your shirt say "the kittens of mercy"? That's so cute lol
It does! I got it from www.gothicat.net/
It’s basically a bunch goth cat themed stuff 😂
I’ve been looking for some new gothic bands for ages but I’ve just been stuck on the same bands for a while now, this is so helpful thank you so much!
I hope you find some new favorites! 🖤
I love actors omg 😫
Dude especially their latest album!!! 🖤
Thanks Madi for more recommendations and for your playlists. I knew about half of these bands already but with the sheer volume of great music being released all the time it can be hard to keep up. Not that I'm complaining. 😁🦇💀🖤
I’d definitely rather have to keep up than search in vain! 🖤
I love your hair any style I'm the same way I love alot of old school music tooo
Excelentes recomendaciones
Have a good day
Just try BELLS OF SOUL
Wonderful list!! Thanks for your videos! Two of my favourite bands are here: This Cold Night, and Astari Nite! I love that you hand painted your jacket. I was debating on doing this as well, but I'm too afraid I'll mess it up
Both of those bands are so good! Also I have a full jacket diy video that I’ve been working on so maybe that will help! You definitely don’t have to do anything fancy! My purse diy video might give you some tips too! 🖤
Drab Majesty, Twin Tribes, She Past Away, Vision Video.

Of course! 🥀🖤🥀
I have to hear Vandal Moon. They’re from Santa Cruz, where I once called home and where I went to university.
Nice video! Thank you!
Thank you!
I am very glad UA-cam provided me with this recommendation.
Suzi Sabotage! Thank you for mentioning her. We all need to tell bigots where they can stick it and keep Goth a safe haven for all.
Think I'm goth rock in my heart mostly, but I do love most sorts too.
Thanks for all those recommendations. I usually discover new goth music either here on UA-cam or on Spotify.
By the way...
You look awesome 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Thank you! I’m honored to hear you’ve found some through here!
Omg you look so good
Thank you! 🖤
Thank you so much for including us! 🖤🖤🖤
It was my pleasure! You guys are great! 🖤
I really like you 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Love that Jason Priest album.
You might like Наутилус Помпилиус, Электрофорез, Петля Пристрастия, Shortparis
If u read can you recomend books?
Depends on what kind of books you like, but if you haven’t read it already The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is an easy, fun, and spooky read :)
A few of my favorite are ACTORS, Astari Night, The Bellwether Syndicate, Black Angel, Black Rose Burning, Christ vs. Warhol, Detoxi, Fearing, Hapax, La Scaltra, Nox Novacula, Nyx Division, October Burns Black, Ötzi, Rosegarden Funeral Party, Shrouds, Tears for the Dying, and Vazum.
: )

Pink Turns Blue came out with a new album this year as well and this awesome Post Punk/Darkwave band Je T'aime.
I think you would like mitra mitra and ductape it's more on the darkwave/coldwave side.
Thank you so much Madi! We have such similar taste, of course I have Jason Priest, but I also have all of the other records you mentioned on vinyl as well, all great recommendations for anyone who isn't familiar already!

I was in need of some good underground new wave, post punk bands. Some good tips here. =)
Thank You for the video, and sharing
The girl with the soothing voice is back 😊☺️🖤

Huge into the dark wave more danceable stuff and I’d gotten stuck on new bands to find, so I am HYPED I found this. So many gold nuggets here
And I have a Darkwave playlist on Spotify with even more! 🖤
Well, there goes my tax refund (not at all sorry)
Nice video, i´ll check some of your recomendations, Goth music is alive again.
I WASN'T REALLY paying attention. I was admiring the background though. 🤔😂🥰🤗💖🇨🇦
Great list ! Check out "Denuit" 🖤
this is great! i tend to get stuck in a rut of listening to the same old familiar stuff, so i'm looking forward to poking thru your spotify lists and finding new favorites
I hope you find some that you enjoy!
I've been obsessed with your modern goth playlist on spotify! Been listening nonstop :)
I’m so happy to hear it! I need to go back and update it some more! 🥀🖤
Actors is great, also love Shannon Hammits solo songs, she's a part of Actors.
Goth rock, I recommend liliac…
You've got to check out twin tribes aswell as double echo!!
Yeah I’m familiar, they are excellent!

@@MadiDanger so is it okay that I as a goth put their songs into my goth music playlist?
@@jaemelancholy1684 I think you should put whatever music you want into your playlists
@@MadiDanger okay thanks. It's just I was made fun of by Facebook goths for having them in my goth playlist because of their post punk/darkwave songs.

glad to see the TRAITRS getting the attention they deserve! I'm always trying to tell people about them!
I’ve had them on repeat all week 🖤

i glanced at the photo on the thumbnail and i clicked very fast. I am in love with your style !
Thank you!
I listened to "The Hunger", very nice. Thanks for introducing me to new stuff.
I like This Cold Night! Black Cathedral for sure sounds like some of the classic bands.
Listening to Mekong's End of the World Album some of the songs make me think if they changed the tone of some of the instruments or increased the tempo they could be metal songs. Oh My Gosh! Thank you so much for sharing! I've needed this video in my life
Necromancers Union and This Cold Night 🤘 idk what it is but there's just something unique about different colored vinyls its awesome 📀
Yes!! The Wake!! (Great Cleveland, OH goth band)...got into them back in 2001 from the awesome Cleopatra 'Goth Box' vhs video compilation. I love Wisborg, too! They’re more heavy goth rock. Definitely recommended for heavy goth rock fans :)
