Thread Cutting For Steyr Challenge Air Rifle

I decided to put a DonnyFL Tanto silencer on my Steyr Challenge Hunting Air Rifle. Needed to cut a 1/2-20 thread on the Hardinge CNC. All went according to plan.

What is the shortest barrel you can cut on the lathe? Or what is the distance from the spider to spider?

without any fixtures you can do a 22” barrel easily. it is about 19” between “jaws”. with adaptors one can do just about anything.
