Got my Tag Heuer from that exact same dealer on chrono 24. They have a great selection. I missed out on some limited edition Tags from them. They're price's are some of the best on chrono 24.
I used to have a lot of Heuer / Tag Heuer before becoming "Seikopath". Yes, definitely the reliability is there. Never once my Carrera, Monaco and Aquaracer had any problem. It's all workhorse. Even the in house H01. I even tried to get into newest 39mm Carrera but the price nowadays is crazy with their H02 in house movement.
I appreciate the video. Some of Tag Heuer's designs, especially in the Aquaracer line, appeal to me. Yet, the steep prices are a deterrent, given their use of off-the-shelf movements. For instance, a Longines HydroConquest could be purchased for a similar price, and it might be considered a superior watch. I'll explore the secondary market to see if I can find a great deal.
Definitely interesting points - aquaracers are really nice, I think they've done a great job on them in the last few years, I have a hydroconquest and I don't think you'd be disappointed with it but if you prefer the aquaracer style definitely there is some great deals and it's also a lovely watch. I personally think the aquaracer is a little more interesting in design but I enjoy my hydroconquest a lot. I'd try both on first though at a jewellers if you can, it can be confusing which size fits best...I made a mistake and the first hydroconquest I owned a few years back was too big for my wrist (it's good they have the 3 sizes) 🙂...cheers for the comments and taking the time to view 😎🍻
I must admit I always thought of TAG as a bit of a status brand - it’s what you’d buy if you couldn’t quite stretch to a Rolex (back when mere mortals could actually buy a Rolex). This video has reset that opinion somewhat, and if I knew anyone who was interested in buying one, I’d certainly be pointing them at the used market. Thanks for a very even-handed and informative session! One suggestion about the video, if you don’t mind - you should consider lowering your microphone a few inches so that it’s not obscuring your chin. It’s rather distracting otherwise :)
My pleasure mate, I'm glad it was a useful video in some way 🤪... I hear such mixed responses on Tag, some of my non-watch friends hold them in such high regard and said they were 'the brand' to have in the 80s, but then seems to be a lot less fondness in watch circles. You know I never even noticed the chin cut off - very good point and noted for future. 😎🍻
@nextonthewrist thats actually quite interesting. I think ceramic has its good properties, but i do think there are limitations. I am a clumsy self, so the watch in my immediate list is the hamilton frogman. I watched your superb review. However just got made redundant a couple months ago so will need to re-save up again!
@@anandmorris sorry to hear on the job front mate - have been there and it's never a good time but hope you are back up and running now and doing OK 🙂👍.... On the watch front, thanks for the kind words... the reduced Frogman is just so good! I still can't believe that no one really talks about it - any chance I get to bring it up I always do 😆
Great content but I don't see the value from new,and the prices are just too high for what you get and it is too big and thick for me maybe a second hand may make sense to some love the Crono automatic feature resale is poor value overall
Yeah the 7750 movements or clones of it are so very thick... The only reasonably slim chronos I've owned are hand wounds. I think for Tag the Carrera range is more slim and slender, even the f1 3-hand I had wore quite large. Cheers for your comments and taking the time to watch the vid 😎🍻

I'm eyeing to get a used Carrera Glassbox. Hoping to find one for less than 3k

I like the older version. Looks good.

How do you crack ceramic?!! What does he do? Fight sharks?
😂 Pretty much...bit of that and a bit of truck driving. I have to admit at this point I've managed to crack a ceramic bezel with impact 😆

@@nextonthewrist thanks mate! On the road to getting back. Took a bit of a hit financially and to my pride!

Its a personal thing for me. I only know 3 people who own tags, and each one is a special level of C U Next Tuesdays!! 🤣🤣
Just as well I sold mine ey? 😂😂😆
@nextonthewrist haha! Never judge a bloke by his wrist.
