For the longest time humans have been trying to learn about planets other than the earth, and perhaps even find signs of life on them. On that front, Mars is the closest to earth and out of all the planets in our solar system, it has an atmosphere that most closely resembles ours. This makes it an especially promising target for optimists like Elon Musk. Our favorite entrepreneur and his space company SpaceX have been closely observing the red planet and as insane as it sounds, plan on colonizing it by 2050. Now you are probably wondering how the tech genius and his company are managing to make discoveries on the fourth planet from the sun. Musk answers this question himself in a tweet that reads,
“Dragon 2 is designed to be able to land anywhere in the solar system. Red dragon mars mission is the first test flight.”
The dragon 2 is a kind of partially reusable space craft developed and constructed by SpaceX primarily for missions to the international space station and beyond, as revealed by the tech billionaire. As of now it is being used for mars exploration missions. Even the American space agency has also taken a keen interest in dragon 2. Musk brags about this in a tweet.
“Researchers at NASA propose using SpaceX falcon/dragon for mars sample return mission.”
Mission NASA has also made much progress in the discovery on mars by landing a perseverance rover on the Gerezo crater. The study of rocks on the surface of mars hints at the possibility that there might have been Martian life on the planet in the past. It is important to study rocks; they are like encyclopedias of their surroundings.
