I love the lore series idee!
I can't help but mention that the first boss, Grimz, one liner of "not even death can save you from me!" is the quote that Diablo always says when encoutered. ( from the blizzard series )

i think since the quest is to defeat grimz u defeat it and as a reward for defeating a death sibling u basically become inmortal, i dont think grimz is chill like that to be a familiar
