Not a Pro Tools user, but this answered my curiosity.

Thinking of taking pro tools on, and I’ve been watching vids trying to understand this for hours why both exist lol, and this was perfect I instantly got it, 🙏🏼 the midi channel is basically extra lanes for more parts on the same instrument u already have on instrument track….feels like such a extra complex way to accomplish it tho lol

Alternatively use MIDI tracks to receive and send MIDI signal to external instruments like synth or guitar effects - patch selection etc

I did mention the use of MIDI tracks with external devices towards the end of the video such as Guitar FX or lighting, but I neglected to mention external instruments such as keyboards/synth/sound modules etc. Good point.

You're very welcome. Bit of a niche video topic I know, but people always wonder don't they?

good tutorial, hey I have a question, and I hope you can help me, I have tried to control the faders of the Fx with a midi but so far I dont know how to do it, I used my logic, thinking that with a midi track I could be do it but I still cannot do it, I hope you can help me, greetings

What you're talking about is called automation. You can automate pretty much anything in Pro Tools. I don't have a tutorial for this at the moment, but if you search for "Pro Tools Automation" you'll find what you need.

@@HighRoadMusicTutorials Yes, of course I know, but what I mean is that I would like to automate the fader of a send, I know it can be done with the mouse, but I would like to do it with a midi controller, since I think it would be more practical, not really I think I can, my controller can manipulate the mixer faders, but I want to control the send fader, for example: the delay or reverbs send fader.
