I'm putting together a Regula 34 movement. That smaller wheel low center between the two chain wheels, what is it called? It wasn't in the parts taken out and I'm wondering if that might be why it wasn't running at all. I found one in a container where I keep parts from other movements which can't be fixed and I'm putting into it.
Hi, I recently purchased an used cuckoo clock with this that was stored for (I was told) a few years since the original owner passed away. It's not too dusty inside, but some of the black links have a bit of rust on them. I cleaned the clock and tried it (without touching the mechanism) and it seemed to run a bit slow but fine, except for the pendulum that I later realized had fallen out. I tried again after placing the pendulum in it's place and to my surprise as soon as I place the weight for the cuckoo the bird starts to run non-stop. Do you recon a cleaning and lubing might solve the problem or might there be something else wrong? It also recommends synthetic oil 859, any recomendation for a brand or are they all the same? I appreciate any help you can provide. It's going to be the first mechanical cuckoo clock at home and I'm a bit lost. 😅
You are a Master of the Regula 34! Awesomeness!
Heard about you from Christine McConnell. Fascinating work.
Thank you for the help I can now reassemble my regular 34 Cuckoo clock movement
Have to say I'm very impressed.

The gears spinning was fun
Welcome to my life............
Does a 34 run on 1260 ET pinecone weights. I've been using 700s and the pendulum keeps stopping after about 15 minutes...cuckoo is slow also
Regula 34 movements normally use weights from 1250-1500g. Hope this helps 🙂
@@theclockgoblin8003 Thanks much.
