World Heroes 2 Jet trás de volta metade dos elementos do jogo anterior e introduz alguns movimentos novo como o que está no próprio título do jogo, que é o movimento de correr em direção ou para longe do inimigo dando 2 toques rápidos no controle na respectiva direção. Os modos NORMAL GAME e DEATH MATCH foram renomeados para ENTRY THE TOURNAMENT e THE FORGING OF WARRIORS, respectivamente.
A grande novidade ficou pelo formato do torneio, que agora é dividido em categorias de "peso" ou "artes" diferentes, e você só precisa derrotar o inimigo uma vez para avançar para o próximo nas primeiras 3 lutas, depois chegando à desafiar os lutadores mais fortes em lutas de melhor de 3 rounds como nos jogos anteriores.

WH2J is actually my favorite from the entire series, but I know why you would consider it a downgrade. Fewer stages, the songs are very generic... But I like how the action is very fast on this one.
