@ Definitely. Only 12 are graded higher with PCGS and NGC combined. I would call every Sydney Mint Type I Sovereign graded AU50 and higher a "superior" coin.
Quite an experience Dan watching what can be faked. The mind boggles to imagine what a little more care would achieve. I have seen English fakes and they are very basic and easy to tell. Not so your coins cheers 👍
Recently added a 1856 Sydney Mint Sovereign in AU55 to my Sovereign type collection.
nice
That would be nice to get. And a very good score for an old coin 👌

Yes Dan, I have bought some known fakes for comparison ? ping test etc,
same...i got a holey dollar and dump... it is a lot smaller than the real spanish dollar i have
It's great to be able to compare them side by side, it helps with the knowledge of spotting fakes 👍
😞 Thanks so much for sharing this info Dan 🙂
You are so welcome! Glad you found it useful 👍
Must be party day, lets see some testing 💥
I just need to get some equipment first 👍

Yeah I agree, it's crazy what some people will do to make a quick buck! Thanks Dan 👍
where was the adelaide pound minted?/ adelaide... hence the sydney sov is not the first ozzy sov...
The pound is not a sov.. yes it is gold, but not a sovereign
@@DantheCollectingMan it was the first gold coin minted in oz.... ... forgive my ignorance, google says "A gold sovereign is equivalent to a pound"
Scary.
Definitely 😞
