Yes, but they have got to win at least one game in ATL to keep any sort of momentum. Don't want to come home behind 2 games knowing you have to finish a sweep in ATL. If they come back to the bank 0-2, almost guaranteed death sentence
What an awesome outing by Nola. He came through huge when we needed him to. Gonna need to rely on him down the stretch. He’s getting his feel at the right time
He was fantastic. I am always nervous every single time he starts, and unfortunately, that's not going to go away. He looked great during this time last year and then he was disappointing in the World Series. I believe he has the tools to continue to dominate, and I hope to be able to see him do it.
NLDS is here!!! Here's the pitching matchups(most likely)
Game 1-Saturday Oct 7- Suarez or Walker
Game 2-Monday Oct 9th- Wheeler
Game 3-Wednesday Oct 11th- Nola
Game 4 Thursday Oct 12th- Suarez or Walker(If Nec)
Game 5-Saturday Oct 14th- Wheeler(If Nec)
If it were up to me I'd pitch Suarez Game 1 however something tells me they're going to go with Walker which is also fine.. Michael Lorenzen will probably be the long relief guy considering he hasn't seen the Braves much this season. It's huge that Wheeler will be able to pitch twice next round & game 2 he will be well rested(6 days rest).
The difference between this year's postseason team & last year's is simple... Bullpen is deeper, Bottom of the order is much improved, Defense is much improved and Alec Bohm & Bryson Stott took a GIANT leap. If we beat The Braves I think we are going all the way.

Dude No way Walker is pitching Game 1. Ranger and I'd pick Sanchez also. Whoever pitches Game 1 isn't pitching Game 4 and dude the biggest difference is they have Turner and Castellenos from this year
@@julianc6863Taijuan Walker or Ranger Suarez will most likely be pitching Game 1 of The NLDS. It was reported that Walker would have pitched Game 3 of The Wild Card if necessary. Ranger Suarez pitched Game 1 against The Braves last year in the NLDS & pitched well. Game 4 we could see Sanchez for sure however with Atlanta's ballpark being pitcher friendly I would trust Walker or Suarez Game 1 before I'd trust Sanchez who has no experience in high leveraged situations..he pitched against the Braves 3 times this season but in two of those games in which he started he allowed 7 earned in 13 innings pitched. Game 1 is an important game.. Taijuan Walker is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.55 and 7 strikeouts in 4 appearances all time against The Braves in their Ballpark.
The bottom of the order last postseason was Segura, Vierling, Marsh & Sosa.
The Bottom of the order this postseason is Rojas, Marsh, Pache, and Stott(against LHP) or Bohm(against RHP). Big difference. And yes... Trea Turner is a big upgrade however I didn't think I needed to state the obvious with that one.

@@mikeisagodd2121If Game 1 was at CBP I wouldn't trust Walker however with Atlanta's ballpark being pitcher friendly I won't have as much anxiety if Walker were to take the mound. The ideal situation is to steal Game 1 or Game 2 on the road then win Game 3 & Game 4 at home.. That's what we did last year. Suarez pitched well last year against The Braves when he faced them Game 1 of The NLDS however he has struggled lately. Their's also Christopher Sanchez however I'd be surprised if he pitched game 1 but technically anything is possible.. If I were a betting man I think we see Walker start game 1 with Suarez & possibly even Lorenzen sprinkled in. Braves have A LOT of serious right handed power bats. May be better to send a righty out there.
Nola was fantastic. If we're gonna beat the Braves, we're gonna need the same. Can't FREAKIN' WAIT!

This team is very serious and very focused right now. We're coming into this game off a very dominant, clean sweep with the momentum of a freight train and come Saturday the braves won't have played for an entire week. Don't act like that doesn't count against them. Oh yeah, and our starting pitching and bullpen is sharp as a tack right now. Our bullpen is gonna be a problem for ya'll.
Braves have been playing scrimmages all week Tuesday-Thursday, Braves aren’t setting back this time waiting they’re staying warm, maybe not hot but they’re definitely ready and it’ll be a great series.
I agree with much of this. MLB has to figure out something better than a full week layoff for top seeds. In the history of the game, long layoffs have damn near exclusively meant a series loss for that team. It showed with 3/4 top seeds last year.

How do the 1 seed Braves get rewarded for winning the most games by playing the 4 seed Phillies and the 2 seed Dodgers play the 6 seed Diamondbacks? Its backwards! This is not fair seeding. Nevertheless, I'm overly elated. I wanted to see Atlanta again in the divisional series. I would've been disappointed with any other opponent. I want my boys taking out the best of the best first and foremost.
If Atlanta loses one game in the first two, ya'll have a big big problem on your hands cause these Phillies won't lose a single game at CBP in this series. That's how confident I am about the energy I feel from them. Mark my words-- don't mess around and lose 1 game at home. You lose the series in 4 at Philly if that happens. I'd bet a thousand dollars on that right now.

I think the Dbacks are going to upset The Dodgers. Better starting pitching 1-2 punch. Dbacks just beat the best pitching staff in the MLB for 2023 & scored runs with no problem. They are currently RED HOT. I thought I wanted The Dbacks in the first round over The Marlins.. Looks like The Phillies may have dodged a bullet. The Braves are the best team in baseball though. If we beat them I legit think we could beat The Dodgers or Arizona. Won't be easy but it can be done.

However, this Braves/Phillies series is the cream of the crop this year for baseball fans, of both leagues. The Phillies have surpassed the Dodgers overall IMO as the second best team in the game ATM. This series is going to be insane. It's a complete toss up as to who wins, but the winner of these two is the HEAVY favorite in the WS. They both have the "it" factor that makes them so dangerous in big games. That's why every game seems to be a back and forth, absolute battle.
For both these teams, I honestly think the clubhouse/team chemistry and the tight knit nature of the personal relationships makes both teams as good as they are, every bit as much as the talent level. Both teams have that in droves.
I'm so stoked baseball fans get this rematch. I'll be watching every pitch, that's for damn sure! May the best team win!
Dodgers have no pitching. Who are their starters? Kershaw and who? And Kershaw is terrible in the playoffs. Yeah they got good hitters, arguably the two best in the NL batting 12, besides that? Will smith the catcher that cant catch but can rake, and muncy who is just the worse version of schwarber. This Braves team is completely different. 2 MVP's (Acuna, Olsen) another 20 game winner (only 1 in MLB) the entire infield plus two pitchers in the 2023 All star game.
