A GIANT pit bull has smashed a previous weight record at one of the US’ premier breeders. Romper is the pride of Tennessee-based ProBulls - a pit bull breeding and training company known for its huge dogs. Previously, the king of ProBulls was the 182-pound ‘Kong’, who unfortunately passed away two years ago. Now Kong’s son Romper has surpassed his father’s record, weighing in at an incredible 183.4 pounds.

Your dogs appear to be in about the same psychical condition as you pair. When will the internet stop glorifying this kind of dog breeding?? What function do these poor buggers have?? What is their average lifespan?

These dogs are not muscular, they waddle around and seem to have trouble moving around. You claim to love these dogs, but I believe you’re just obsessed with having “the biggest”. The reason you don’t do bite work is because these dogs cannot physically handle it. The poor joints on these guys would just be destroyed if they did even half of the work ddk9 dogs do. If they were in good health, and of a normal body weight, I’d say good job, but these dogs couldn’t even outrun the damn owners. The bigger the dog, the more you have to protect the joints, make sure the pups don’t grow too fast and the growth plates get a chance to properly mature.

Does anyone else think Mastiffs (of any/every type) are put into the mix? Also, the high rear seems a bit 'off' aka unbalanced. Longevity and healthiest offspring in body and mind over many years is MOST important from a proper breeder (family dogs with pups are different). IMO a minimum of 80% of offspring aged 8 or older with zero heart, lung and hip dysplasia issues is required for a high price. Heck, I believe I could gain 20lbs and outweigh my father too, it would just a few more trips to that buffet I like....

Beyond just the weight issues, the structure of these dogs is a mess. Rears are way to high, front legs are too short - very bad structure for a massive dog's long term joint health.
Seems like it's all about making money by having "the biggest" at the expense of everything else.

I have a dog and he's a cool, bull X pit. He's chubby, funny and kind of dumb. People ask me all the time " is he tough?" " does he like fighting?"
No he's not tough...he never fights and he's very affectionate. People need attention in one way or another. People derive self worth from the size of their dog or if their dog is tough.
And almost always the people themselves are out of shape and not tough at all.....like these guys.
You can tell these dogs have big genetics people wanna say fat but they have special bodies its genetic. I have a 40lb boston terrier shes big for her size and is extra fit I would love to meet her family and see how big her parents are.

My dog is very fit and athletic and she has the ability to get fat so I do what I can to make sure she doesn't and I agree that it isn't healthy and it can cut many years off the dogs lives but who are we to judge? We have a pocket pup and our first xl, 31 lbs at 8 weeks. We've had one other "AM who was probably extreme. We are so depressed we didn't get a pup from him as he passed at only 8 in January. We want to become breeders. It's funny you and your wifes story is like ours. We got her first dog when we were dating. An English Bulldog..Weve had nearly every bully type breed but just love American Bullies. We mainly want to become breeder's as we just have a passion for this breed. We also never wish to lose another without at least having their blood line continue. Same happened with my amazing pit bull and Olde English Bulldogge which was one of the best built I've ever seen. It's a ton of work I can tell but worth it. Lucky you got that cool friend to help as well. Maybe one day I can come take a look, maybe even get a female as that's what we need right now

1st - the dogs are lazy when their full grown like the owners.
2nd - you can easily breed a mastiff or Cane Carso into these bully's and make em big at 170+
3rd - if you want a dog to lay around with you all day? This is the dog for you. Feeding cost are probably higher than taking care of yourself 😂

I really wish these kinds of breeders would just stop. The dogs have horrendous structure and almost all atr over weight. Awful toplines, high rears, short front legs, easty-westy splayed paws. Ugh.
And poor Romper over here is basically walking on his wrists because his pasterns are darn near parallel to the ground. His hips look oof too. He seems to struggle to walk.
Really hope Beastly will stop advertising these types of breeders. You don't need a PHD in dogs to know he's breeding low quality, unhealthy and unfit for purpose dogs. Too large to even walk correctly.

Bullies are supposed to get muscle rather than fat and they need exercise, if I buy a puppy from here I want it to have healthy parents.
The guy said he was breeding since 99 like dude if that's the case. You should know overfeeding like that is not hood for the breed. That can lead to a shorter life span.
