It’s true oh it’s damn true
His athleticism and high-flying style were unmatched during the earlier half of his career. Angle spent years in TNA wrestling alongside and against Styles. In this day and age where we have a lot more spot monkeys these days, Styles in the 2000s was something unique. The fact he can still go at that same level from 20 years ago to today just impresses Angle. That's why he's also thrown Jericho's name out there. Someone who's been at it even longer than AJ, yet he's still wrestling.
Let's be honest. Jericho has been absolutely horrible the last three years. Kurt still sees the guy ge wrestled.

Aj styles had only one match with Brock Lesnar and it was epic. Shows what a talent he is. Sad that he didn't wrestle The Undertaker in his Prime.
I loved Brock V AJ champion v champion, still do 😁 when Brock was in the calf killer submission and he sold the shit out of it I swore Aj was gonna tap him and shock the world

Taker was going to fully retire at extreme rules in that tag match with Roman, and was fully insisting on staying retired, until AJ proposed a match between the two and he just couldn't resist.
That's how good AJ was, effectively convinced the undertaker to unretire.

AJ Styles is one of the Goats of Wrestling, anyone who says otherwise, doesn’t have a brain. The dude has had a lot of bumps in WWE but it’s mostly a good ride with them. AJ can turn shit into copper, sliver & gold. He even had a decent match with Jinder Mahal of all fucking people. One of the worst wrestlers on the roster, managed to have a decent match thanks to AJ 😂
AJ vs Kurt should have been Kurt's retirement match. They both respect each other and would have been amazing to see them one last time.
I absolutely LOVED watching Kurt and AJ when I was younger. AJ was my hero as a teenager, and Kurt was my hero before that. It's so awesome to hear how sweet Kurt is.

He's absolutely right. AJ can get over with any crowd and make anyone look good. He's definitely the most reliable wrestler in the business in my opinion. Even if he isn't my favorite. He doesn't have to rely heavily on glorified and outright gay gymnastics like Kenny Omega to put on a good match because he's good at everything. Same as prime Kurt.

Kurt Angle wrestled every big name in both the Attitude Era (with the exception of Bret) and the Ruthless Aggression Era.
For him to say this about Styles means a lot.
It's unfortunate that the majority of AJ's career was spent in TNA/Impact.

I get what he says, not saying AJ just runs around. In Puerto Rico there was a wrestler like that, the guy's will say "you do a 60 minute match and you go to the back feeling good and not tired at all."

AJ is the person that brought me back to watching WWE regularly and one of the top reasons I still watch WWE. After now watching wrestling for 30+ years (wow I feel old at 38) he will prolly go down as one of my top 5 maybe 3 favorite wrestlers of all time. Kurt’s in that top also but I’m bias to Kurt growing up and knowing him personally from Pittsburgh and his brother was a wrestling coach for my school growing up.

Glad Kurt showing recognition to Meltzer. Everyone wants to dump on the guy but he has changed wrestling for the better! No one can tell me wrestling in the late 90's / early 00's is better than todays . Meltzer has smartened up the fans to want more in ring work over the entertainment . People say less people watch todays product , that its not maimstream anymore... Who cares! If all wrestling companies go bankrupt I could care less as long as those final matches are 5 star AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Who is AJ? 2) Shawn Micheals is NOT the most entertaining, Hulk Hogan was by miles. Nobody has ever gotten the reaction Hogan got from the crowd in the late 80s, early 90s. He is just naming people he worked with more. Doesn't matter if you like Hogan or not, he is the icon. In 2124 when they go over wrestling in a history hologram Hogan still will be. Only people who are like under mid 30s think of these no names instead of Hogan/Andre/Macho Man etc.
I respectfully disagree. I don’t think anyone can touch Macho Man Randy Savage in terms of the 3 things that matter most to pro wrestlers. A good promo, ring ability (including believability) and a good look. Macho was the complete package.

I still posit 2005 TNA AJ Styles as the single Best Year a Wrestler has ever had. Seriously go watch his PPV TNA matches from that year there isn’t a single one of them that isn’t excellent

Jericho is better than Shawn. Jericho has more memorable angles, matches, promos and way more longevity. Not to mention more World championships when he was never even "the guy".
People hate Chris Benoit for obvious reasons but if we are being completely honest, he would wrestle circles around guys like AJ Styles and Bryan Danielson as good as they are, Benoit was on a whole nother level. The guy was a beast in the ring, even Kurt himself said that he was the most intense wrestler he has ever stepped in the ring with, even more intense than Kurt himself. It's such a shame that he did what he did in his last moments in this world...
