There's no such thing as a "Former New Yorker". Once a New Yorker is always a New Yorker and yes you're right about him grabbing the pigeon like that. Those pigeons are very quick to fly away

Lol, Rego Park is miles away from Jamaica Estates, both in terms of distance and incomes. Either way, he was too good for Queens, so no need to drag them because of trump
While I worked in NYC it was well known 20 years ago to NOT eat from those food carts because they are dirty and the food is very suspect. I see things have not changed 😂😂😂

That's disgusting that he caught one of the street and just brought it into the truck like that. I don't have an issue with eating Pidgeon, that's actually why we have rock doves (Typical New York Pidgeon) in the US in the first place is because they were initially brought here as a food animal but escaped and became invasive and then eventually fell out of popularity as a food item.
There's one that I went to in Denver that was really good. Little Indian food truck, it was super clean and served some of the best Tikka Masala I've EVER had.

@markh.7650 Unfortunately some restaurants are not up to health codes as well . Working in the trades gave me a healthy respect for the need for OSHA as well code enforcement! you know, a lot of folks think this is disgusting. i've spent time in korea, myself. i cannot be sure what i was buying from street food vendors was actually chicken. what i can be sure of is that said mystery meat was delicious. i mean, city pigeon isnt my first choice of a meal, but there's not really anything gross about eating it. hell, street pigeons probably live in more sanitary conditions than most farm chickens. and cooking destroys pathogens.
Cooking doesn’t destroy toxins and poisons though. You have no idea what the pigeon was eating. What if that pigeon had consumed rat poison? The issue is more of a lack of regulation and lying about what he’s serving. If people _consent_ to eating street pigeon I’m not going to judge, but misleading people and putting their health at risk is definitely not a good thing.

One bird isn't enough to make a profit. If he had caught the whole bunch I'd say he's serving them up. Perhaps he wanted to make lunch and didnt want to cut into his profits. But I wouldn't eat a pigeon that's been eating crap off the road. I used to hunt pigeons at my friend's farm, they were eating mostly corn from the surrounding farms. And I have to say they were delicious. But you need at least 3 for decent meal.
