News consolidation in the UK, and Australia is nearly as bad!! unfortunately media monopoly, especially when you consider technologies like Amazons, Microsofts Content Delivery Networks, information is becoming privatised. I'm sure the same goes for much of western media (Europe etc.) at the moment without looking into their own statistics.

Why does The Navy think that it is a sign of strength to double down when it comes to the drinking water of their own citizens? Why not repair the leaks, or isolate the fuel from reaching the water supply as quickly as possible? Fix this immediate problem and then come to a decision about moving the remaining fuel, as well as any further compensations that are due to the communities affected by this. I very much support this initiative, through these protests that even more so emphasize the people of Hawaii's connection to the land, not just on a biological level but on a spiritual and traditional one. I also agree with civil disobedience when the situation calls for it, which it clearly does in this case. However I do not agree with the argument of complete demilitarization, or the notion that "we are an occupied nation". I understand people's frustration, even more so in light of this tragedy, but the people of Hawaii are American citizens who retain all of their cultural, religious and ethnic heritage and practices, as they should. Being an American citizen comes with privileges that many people throughout the world aspire to and who maybe are a lifetime away from achieving them in their country, hoping that such a life might be possible for their children or grandchildren. Obviously, not everything is as it should be, despite this status, but things are not perfect anywhere in the world. Just because the current Navy leadership stationed in Hawaii is and has been incompetent for decades does not mean that people should forget about these facts. I have faith in the people of Hawaii's resilience and bravery, that they will see this disaster through, as they have seen so many others much worse, and finally acquire the respect they deserve for themselves and for their land from the American government, as well as be compensated for this denial of a basic human right. Governments behave like this towards their own citizens worldwide, without exception. I hope I have not offended anyone with this comment because that was definitely not my intention. My heart goes out to the people of Hawaii.

Privileges that come at the expense of millions of innocent lives around the planet, are really crimes..America has done a stupendous job indoctrinating and propagandizing it's citizens and people around the world, but the fact is, that America is acting as an evil empire, raping and pillaging the planet, and it violently polices it's conquests..It's just reality..Lots of countries around the world have privilege for it's citizens without murdering, starving, raping and pillaging..This event doesn't even come with thousands of dead bodies, the US military has done far worse things to it's own members and citizens hundreds of times...Members of the military join up, mostly because they want to do the right thing, but, if your going to agree to murder on command, it's your responsibility to make sure, to critically investigate, the track record, the priorities and motivations of the country your agreeing to kill for..It's why the US military has sooo many suicides, 20 a day, for many years...It's hard to live with yourself and your actions, when the fog, lies and narratives lift...It's extremely important to understand history, it seems a good many people of Hawaii understand their history, and America, you might want to follow suit and give it a shot...The guy who made this video, Mike Prysner was a member of the US military, and I think he would agree with my response to your comment...

@@realeyesrealizereallies6828 I'm sure he does agree because I also agree with everything you've pointed out. I would never deny any of it because it would be impossible to do so, or it would be a lie. America is acting like every other empire throughout history, engaging in the same tactics, just on a larger scale, with different means and at a different time. It's one of the best examples of how we never learn from history, even though we record everything we can. Who wouldn't want a world where none of this had to be the way things are? To say that there is room, as well as a need, for improvement would be an understatement, and I hope we always keep that in mind. Unfortunately life, as you very well point out, is much more complicated, otherwise these things would have been fixed as easily and rapidly as we invented the spoon for eating liquids. Right now we are seeing this video and sharing our thoughts on devices that were most likely made using underpaid labor, if not worse. Same goes for the people who extracted the materials from which they are made. Yet here we are, and that will probably be the way tomorrow will go. I don't think we could ever reach perfection, but I think it should be our aim.

@@b0gdyb0ta I didn't mention I served as well, so have first person experience and knowledge..In the 40's--50's--and 60's America was number one in the world in every metric one could apply, that was advantageous to it's citizens, but, that was a long time ago..America is 41st in free and fair elections, is the only modern industrialized nation on Earth that life expectancy is declining, the infrastructure is falling apart, 27th in education and healthcare, which is very generous, it's really far worse than that, even infant mortality is much higher than similar countries..And the list goes on forever..Sure, half of the population has privilege, that is being eroded by the second, and the other half lives in poverty, with tent cities rising inside of every American City...Which is also in line with every empire in history, they all self destruct..And that is exactly what we are witnessing..And it won't be long either, America's process of collapse started decades ago, and is picking up speed...And it's not just America, most of the globe will collapse in the next decade, give or take 5 years..That's a better glimpse of where we are really at...A climate catastrophe, a collapsing biosphere and cryosphere, a decimated environment, and a mass extinction event, all while living under the daily threat of nuclear annihilation..Couldn't really be any further from perfection, given our potential...It's the human cycle of greed and exploitation, could just be coming to it's end...It definitely is for several billion of us...

@@realeyesrealizereallies6828 I couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you for your service. I am not an American citizen myself, but I have been following what is happening there for most of my life, especially the past two years. There was most definitely a time when America was the shining beacon of the world, in every way possible. Similar to what a country like France was before it, especially after the French Revolution. A time when to have something "Made in America" meant a lot. Now you can't really find many of those at all. At it's height it reached farther than any nation in history, even beyond Earth itself. I've always been fascinated by it's accomplishments, by how far it got ahead of everybody else and how much more it could do, if it just had the will and wisdom. The world would never have been the same after we had nuclear technology. In past times civilizations could, from time to time, afford to regress into Dark Ages. I don't think we have that luxury. For example, that steaming mess at Chernobyl. If the nations of the world are ever in a situation where they cannot come together and rebuild that dome around Reactor IV, every 100 years or so, for thousands of years to come, then the radiation will crumble the existing dome and slowly poison the entire world. Nevermind the thousands of nuclear weapons the world has accumulated or the inevitable climate shift. You've laid it all out pretty well and I can't really argue with any of it, nor do I want to. I suppose I'll finish on a positive note and mention the fact that every generation in history has believed that they are witnessing the end times, yet here we are. Hopefully we'll be smart enough to give a chance at life to other generations, as those before have done for us.

@@b0gdyb0ta Well Thanks brother, I agree that many civilizations have thought they were witnessing the end times in a religious context, or they witnessed or sensed the collapse of their civilizations..My evaluation is based on peer reviewed science, statistics, history, current events and hopefully diagnosing it all through the lens of critical thinking, objective reasoning, questioning everything, and common sense..And I'm not alone in my assessment of the situation..The simple fact is that every human civilization to ever exist has self destructed, crashed, burned and collapsed, and all for the exact same reasons..Our current civilization is a world wide civilization, and the consequences of 8 billion people and modern technology, is undeniable and lethal for life on Earth..What we call "Dark Ages" was really just an over exploited localized environment in the process of recovery after the collapse of the empire that destroyed it..The consequences of our technology and population, make such a recovery highly unlikely if not impossible..Humans are extremely clever, I wouldn't be surprised if some find a way to adapt and hang on, but, the environment could take tens of thousands to millions of years to recover, depending on how radioactive and the levels of extinction and how much of the planet becomes uninhabitable..We've set into motion processes that are going to decimate the stable climate, and biosphere that allow for our existence, and the existence of most complex life..Life is highly adaptive, but the rate of change is always the determining factor..We are changing the environment hundreds/thousands times faster than the worst mass extinction events in Earth's history, and that's a fact..We think technology can/will be our salvation, but it's really the main problem, coupled with our greed..I sure hope I'm wrong, but that's hardly reassuring...I really think it's just common sense, and even those who can't articulate what's coming, and don't know the facts, can sense it...

As usual, the Empire Files is spot on. It’s a gripping story and one that needs to be told. From a social, economic and ecological perspective, it’s a terrible and repugnant abuse of the people of the Kingdom of Hawai’i (and the U.S. servicemen and women and their families). From a political and military perspective, it’s a great and shameful betrayal on part of the British Empire toward the Kingdom, with which Her Majesty’s Government formed an alliance under Queen Victoria in the 19th Century, equivalent to one of the alliance partners of the Western European Union not coming to the aid of another partner if that country were to be attacked and invaded by a foreign country as the Kingdom was by the United States. (This form of hard guarantee is only present under Article 5 of the WEU Charter and not Article 5 of the NATO Charter.) There is a reason why the Kingdom of Hawai’i flies the Union Jack, and a disgrace that the United Kingdom did not protect it’s alliance partner in accordance with its treaty obligations. Then again, we can be absolutely certain that the U.S Empire would never step in to protect any of its satellites unless there was money to be made in the process.

This sort of gun talk is strictly American in itself. Hawaii, even before the illegal overthrow, did not allow the carry of firearms, unless permitted. The sentiment towards the Second Amendment is American, and has no place in our history or culture. As we do our best to de-colonize ourselves, we find that American sentiments come in all sorts of ways, including what we consider to be "God given" rights.

@@federalreservebrown2507 LMAO okay, so what did Japan do to Hawaii that is even remotely colonial in the last 70 years? The American *haole* is polluting our finite water resources with its military as we speak. Not Japanese. In fact, Hawaii *prefers* Japanese tourists to Americans of all ethnicities, due to the fact that Japanese tourists are, by in large, far more respectful. Less incidents with Japanese tourists overall. Just the other day, we had a white American tourist posting herself touching endangered wildlife, which is completely illegal. Not once has a Japanese tourist been reported to be doing such a thing.
Asians (not just Japanese, you racist haole) predominate the politics of Hawaii by virtue of their demographic, not some Japanese conspiracy. If you weren't so full blown Americanized, you'd understand the context of our resentment for the US, and why Native Hawaiians don't hold Japan accountable in the same way.
