I was just there three days ago departing on United back home. It feels nostalgic... I didn't know many of the features that you have described. Very nice, Josh. I did take the tube from Russell Square all the way to LHR Terminal 2
A couple of years ago I arrived on an early flight & spent the next four hours checking out all the Heathrow terminals until I could do an early check in at my hotel. Heathrow is very impressive. Even T3 looks nice with updated shops and cafes etc.
What a thorough and detailed guide to Heathrow airport. I will definitely be sharing this with friends as Australia to London is a very popular route connecting to Europe. Thanks so much for the effort in making it so simple and stress free experience 👍
I like LHR T5 because there are plenty of seats and also places to eat (and a range of shops if I want to shop). I have only flown out of T3 a couple of times with a short connection time from T5 so I didn't have much time to look around.
In LHR Terminal 4 you have an observation deck near gate 12 from where you have a great view on 09R - 27L and you can even see the Concorde parked on the south side of T2.
Thanks for a great video again Josh. I have often stayed at the Hilton at Heathrow and after a 10 min walk you jump on the train to the terminal ! It is an amazing place to even just people watch ! The shopping and food venues are also fantastic !! Well done again mate !! Thank you !!
Honestly anything in Los Angeles or California for that matter, people say is trash! Lots of social problems and people are appalled by the homeless camps under every freeway and graffiti and litter everywhere:( which is surprising given Los Angeles's world class status as a movie and fashion and culture city!
Thank you for sharing this! I'll be flying into/out of Heathrow for the first time next year when I go see Elton John perform in London. This was very helpful and informative :)
[comment June 12, 2021] With endless amounts of money (which for sure I don't have) it's easy to access all the services offered at many airports .. such as Heathrow. I find 40 British pounds to enter the lounge expensive and would for sure avoid it .. as I do with all the lounges at airports. I much rather save my money and spend it at places of my destination :-)
Great guide Josh thanks for the hints and tips. The bed looks comfortable in that private rroom in the lounge howèver knowing me id miss my flight if i had a sleep. Ive only flown from queens ter.inal once and quite sometime ago.
For me the plus side was an underground ticket [swiping my debit card ] from Heathrow to Liverpool St. London for a surprisingly cheap just under £6. The downside is the high price for food and the scruffy area where the coach/bus area connection meets the airport terminal.
Convenience wise it would be Southend or London City BUT I so much prefer Heathrow cos it feels like so much of an adventure. Gatwick good too! Only been from LHR terminal 5 (about 4 times) so will try and do the other terminals when travel restrictions allow and they are open again
I'm blessed to have SFO as my main airport. Besides the delays due to fog during parts of the year, its a great airport with great lounges, wifi, and food choices. the Centurion lounge is awesome.
Hi Cutie, Very informative, I'm often a transient on this airport had not idea those amenities were available to paying travelers. Keep on trekking, you vlogs keep entertained when I can catch some zzzz. Happy Holidays, peace and light🙋♀️
The blog is amazing I showed this to someone i know who works on the telecoms side of airport. If you want to know why Heathrow is so fast for WiFi as most airports have the wiring already set in for the fast WiFi and also the 4g or 5g companies use airports as a trial space for new speeds. Also as it is privately owned and maintained it works better than other commercial areas
I've been to Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine Airport), PER, LAX, BOS, JFK, SFO, AKL, AUH and LHR airports. LAX was the worst, and LHR wasn't bad for me, but it's been nearly 4 years since I was last at Heathrow. But thanks heaps for the video, in fact, I've saved it as a favourite on my bookmarks, since I'm dying to travel again, I'll probably need it in the future. :)
Thanks Josh! Super useful review on Terminal 2, which is less covered by other videos. Also great tip on the Heathrow Express - will use it next time. Looking forward to the Singapore Airlines (I assume) review too :) Also, random aside, but it's super cute how you get around pronouncing the 'th' sound with the 'f' or 'd' sounds - hadn't noticed it before you had to say 'Hea(f)row' and '(d)at or '(d)e' so many times in this video :D Made me realise I do it myself with 'that' and 'the' as well and I'm even a native speaker (though no longer living in an English-speaking country which may explain it).
And in case you're wondering why LHR do not post your Gate number till 30/40 minutes prior to boarding, well, it's to keep you at the Shops, Restaurants and Duty Free as long as possible thereby increasing the % of sale commissions to the airport authority. To say nothing of the 'snake corridors' right after security ! UK, always perfecting the fine art of subtly removing cash from your wallet )))))) Legends !!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic video Heathrow definitely looks like an amazing airport! Was wondering if you would ever consider coming to NZ in the future and reviewing Air New Zealand, as I would love to know your thoughts on our national carrier. Thanks so much keep up the great work Josh!
Hey I am going to Heathrow T4 tommorow (15th Dec). I'll be arriving at Victoria and from there what would you suggest me to take (tube/ travel to Heathrow express )
Hello, Josh….do we have a machine down Heathrow that can weave rolls of cling film on a luggage? If so, how much is it per luggage? It’s an amenity that can protect belongings. I came across this on UA-cam but did not think much of it. I hope you can find time to help me with this inquiry. Thanks.
Great video, Josh, and very informative! Have you ever flown into Hartsfield in Atlanta, GA before? It has the distinction of being the world's busiest airport, but they are extremely efficient there, and it's very easy to navigate. They just finished a full renovation of the airport, including, I believe, adding another runway, as well as extending the others. I will be flying down in the spring when my doctors give me the all-clear to fly once again. Atlanta is the new Hollywood. It's much prettier and cleaner than California. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it, and if you have, you definitely should come now that the renos are finished!
I’m sure the renovations will be great the only problem is I’m just old enough to remember internal flying in the U.S. before deregulation. Then it was great, now it sucks.
Did you get your nails done Josh?! Getting to and from Heathrow is expensive. I live in Scotland and would prefer to fly from Edinburgh to a European airport than to transit through Heathrow. The latter is big, busy and the officials can be very rude. You also have to allow a lot of time to transit from one terminal to another. However thanks for the positive review and highlighting some of the good features at Heathrow.
Josh can you please help me? Ive tried to find via google the link to book the day use rooms in terminal 2 heathrow. Can you please supply my with the link. Thank you and great imformation for my upcomming trip. Thanks Josh
Frank Bullen I am visually impaired, and I travel alone quite a lot. No airport can rival Singapore’s Changi. It is extremely easy to navigate, and staff are extremely helpful and understanding. I can see a lot less for Heathrow and Gatwick.
@@emaildavinam I agree, only Singapore does Help and guide people on an easy way, even if it is your first time in Changi, yhere is allways someone to help. Eastern hospitality on it s best.
Hello, hopefully you can hello us, we arribe on 25 of Dec. Any advise to get to our hotel from Heathrow?, we are going to Hammering area in London and I thing tube are close for that day...please help..
The Heathrow Express is by far and away the most expensive railway in the world. They claim to offer a discount if you book in advance. The problem is there are no refunds if you miss your allocated train. So what's the point? Personally I see it differently. If I buy a ticket a 3pm and board a train ad two minutes past three, surely that is in advance?
Amazing folk here compare LHR to airports like Southend and Farnborough. Southend to JFK? No. Travelling from Farnborough on a major global airline? Sorry, No.
London Heathrow is massive, but then so is London which is incredibly well served by public transportation of all kinds especially with the upcoming new Crossrail opening soon. Btw, London has 6 international airports!
Josh, I kinda started to doubt in honesty of your reviews, because you always make such fuss about Turkish Airlines being stiped of one star to 4/5* airline. I have done 6 flights on TK now (before frequented KLM and DL). I must say I'm very disappointed about how TK handles it. The only positive thing about TK I see is food (which tends to be all the same all the time and starts getting boring after 3 flights) and unlimited internet for elite, elite plus and business class. Turkish business class seat is below average in the industry (I hate the 2-3-2 configuration in B777), the economy is nothing special and in B777 is very uncomfortable (I'm 1,8 m and have 85 kg and could not find the best position - the tailbone was killing me in the economy seat which I have not experienced in no other airline). I luckily found a way around the footrest in the economy cabin (I've put my legs above it and extended my legs under the seat in front of me). I hate how the TK interrupt the IFE contents with very very frequent announcements which last 2x the time compared to other airlines (announcements are very long and bilingual) and there are the constant commercials played on the IFE. I hated how unfriendly most of the FA and ground staff look and talk to you - felt like being in the army. Also TK suffers the constant delays and comes up with ridicules or no excuses (with DL I was used to really sincere disclosures about the situation and most of the time captains would come out to the gate and tell about the situation - being weather or defects of aircraft). The complimentary Hotel Service between eligible flights is also good only on paper - you will get a hotel far far away from new IST airport and hotel would not be the best - I had a 14 h layover, but was able to get only 4 hours sleep because the time required to get the hotel assigned took 1 hour, the shuttle took 40 minutes, the check-in took 30 minutes and the plane got to new IST with a delay of 1 hour. Then TK wants you to check out of the hotel 4 hours prior to your next flight.... TK was an awful experience to fly to the USA. Also Staralliance is not the best alliance - it is very snobby, I still prefer SkyTeam.

Love travelling through Heathrow, when I need to. Such a joyful and relaxing place to be. Also very easy to get around

Allowing enough connecting time is a must. Heathrow is huge!
What a thorough and detailed guide to Heathrow airport. I will definitely be sharing this with friends as Australia to London is a very popular route connecting to Europe. Thanks so much for the effort in making it so simple and stress free experience 👍
I never knew about the £5.50 Heathrow Express ticket.. I've been paying too much. Thanks for that!
To get the £5.50 price you have to buy about two months in advance and increases the nearer your flight time. Check their website for full details.
I tend to fly out of T4 when I am flying east back to Australia and T2 when I am flying west to the US. and Canada . Thanks for sharing Josh.
I like LHR T5 because there are plenty of seats and also places to eat (and a range of shops if I want to shop). I have only flown out of T3 a couple of times with a short connection time from T5 so I didn't have much time to look around.

Great! I'll try and use T2 next time I fly from LHR - really useful video as usual!
On Terminal 2 there is a Plaza lounge for both departures and arrivals.
I usually fly from T5 and for me, LHR is an extremely well organised airport, when you compare it to many US airports or even FRA.
MHG idk about Fra but definitely better than all the U.S airport
Thanks Josh this was a lot of great information on Heathrow I will use it next time I fly there hope all is well for you and Happy Holidays to you.🎅
Thank you for sharing this! I'll be flying into/out of Heathrow for the first time next year when I go see Elton John perform in London. This was very helpful and informative :)
If in T5, use the southern BA lounge and not the northern one - you get a much better view of the airport
London LHR IS MY FAVOURITE airport of the world. And I live 10 minutes away from it 😂😅. Do love that lounge too been there few times.
Thanks for another great video. Spend 6 days a week at Heathrow Terminal 5 my favourite!
Thanks for this, Josh. I love LHR. I find it's an easy airport to navigate to get around. Will be flying in in Feb. Have a great holiday season!

Just find a stop connected to piccadilly, from there take the one to Heathrow, its quite simple really as long as you know train line.

I know its a small thing but data WiFi is in MegaBits per second so, that is around 25 MegaBytes per second... :-)
Did you say 22 British Pounds?????? For a metro ride to the airport???? That's INSANE!
