- How come this cool guy is an englishman? He sounds so Mediterranean.
His songs are a soundtrack to our summers. Especially this 12" mix stands for hapiness. An intro to a great summer party. Thank you Chris Rea.
I do not own copyrights for this. Written by Chris Rea in 1985.
One of the greats of our time. A legend in his lifetime. Never tire of listening to his wonderful music.
His family are Italian. They owned an "Ice Cream" business in Middlesborough, North East England.
A real nice guy.
Tha best Baby Lucky "Ruck" Star 😎🔥
another example where a good dj turns an ordinary romantic ballade into a massive dance hit, same as tod terry with "missing" by ebtg-well done. immortal
Great Guitar, great spirit, great voice. Thank you for all those great recordings and songs. Thank you for for great music and all of your feelings you gave us.
Universelle, intemporelle, cette douceur pour survoler la nuit ds les bras d une douce et tendre ... je crois qu'on appelle ça l amour un terme qui semble lointain à notre époque. Mister chris rea merci
WELL, I SIMPLY LOVE HIS TRACKS..I THINK HE'S GREAT!! x
Que dire de la basse ! On se laisse entraîner tout le long du morceau.... Sublime !
Doesn't matter who
he is but a very great singer and a great slider guitarist
Chris Rea is one talented guy. This is a great song and one of my many favourites by him.And he is brilliant in concert.
Chris Rea forever!!!
un grand!! qui sait jouer du blues...j'adore!!
I just discovered Chris 2 days ago and I will state emphatically that this man, who was drop-dead gorgeous in the 80's, has the most beautiful, sensuous, sultry, perfect, sublime voice on earth! Then and still now! I can't believe that he is not big in the US! This is what I call awesome music which transmits all that he feels and comes directly to us in waves! I feel I'm in a beach near Rome and looking at his blue eyes! How beautiful that his Italian blood is evident in his passion in his singing and composing! How beautiful that he wrote this song for his daughter. Love him for LIFE and am happy that he is still alive (he was seriously ill once)! Long live Chris!
+mibello aleman : Mibello, I agree totally with your comments on Chris's voice, it sends chills up and down my spine. Thats how I know if it's (something) touched my soul.
He is a huge awesome talent, I have followed his music for almost 3 decades. Whenever I get a new car, I play "Josephine" and "OnThe Beach" First, It's like Christening my Car and Stereo.
I'm sort of like a cat, all hair on my arms and legs stand on end, and my skin tingles, in wave after wave. Chris Rea's voice has that effect on me.
As for his "Looks" I'll leave that to you, you obviously have a better take on it than me.
He also wrote "Julia" for his second daughter.
Mark, thanks for agreeing with me! I love your comment, especially the part about "christening my car and stereo." I was hollering with laughter when I read that! Also, love the description you gave of the effect of Chris' voice on you - deep man, really deep! When I hear his voice I get lost in it and time stops! It is so sensuous, husky, deep, beautiful and all encompassing that I get lost in it. Such a talented man! I'm only sorry I didn't discovered him sooner. But it's never too late. I just love him! Yep, he wrote, like everything else he sings, 2 songs about his daughters. BTW, he was smoking hot in the 80's! Anyho, cheers!
+mibello aleman : Mibello, The first time I ever heard him sing, was to Josephine. I had no idea the song was of his daughter at the time, but thought "what real all encompassing love" this was of.
When I discovered it roots, it made perfect sense.
Ever since, I listen to his music really often, it moves me, even after 30+ years. A number of years ago, he gave a concert at the Sydney Opera House, according to music critics of the time, it was without parallel, they said everyone was just taken with his Uniquely Individual Husky Voice..."None like it in the industry" they wrote.
I just wish I had known of the Concert, before all tickets were sold out. All his concerts sell out quickly in Australia.
I'm happy you got a laugh out of my car and stereo christening procedure.
Look after yourself my friend.
Hey Mark, we have 2 things in common: the first song I heard of Chris was Josephine (my favorite song of his) and the first thought I had of it was how grand and humongous his love is. Of course, I later found out it was about his daughter and saw the video of his home movie of her - precious child! Gorgeous song. I hope she was and is a good daughter. Yep, I love to see him in person, but I doubt it. So, I listen to that sexy, husky, gorgeous voice whenever I can. So, I understand why you love his voice and how it moves you - he's an Italian with a lot of Soul! Very Soulful!
Yep, love your comment about your car!
You too take care of yourself.
Ciao, ciao!
Just beautiful.
quel hommage laissé a un enfant .Preuve d'amour gravé sur les ondes .whaou!!!!!!
I have loved , played, listened to, played on a radio station, sung to, adored, loved Chris Rea who was so hot , madly in love with for over thirty years, given me wonderful memories, no one does it better... Josephine is my favourite song and then every other song
he sang comes in a very close second. Thank you Chris for the music :)
There's rain on my window
But I'm thinking of you
Tears on my pillow
But I will come through
Josephine, I'll send you all my love
And every single step I take
I take for you
Josephine, I’ll send you all my love (x2)
There's a storm on my radar
But I can still fly
And you are the reason
The blue in my sky
Josephine, I’ll send you all my love, yeah, Josephine
A life without meaning
I was walking away
In the coldest of winters
Night becomes day
Josephine, I'll send you all my love
And every single step I take
I take for you
Josephine, I’ll send you all my love (to fade...)
Just wonder if it is really a happy song. I thought always as a kinda sad song of it. He is crying, because he is missing his daughter so much. Great song, though. I prefer the other intro, in which the guitar plays those single notes, though.
saw him perform in Bournemouth 2012....awesome....and no merchandise! The guy is just for the music.
les meilleurs remix !! les 80"

Agree with your description. It\ s just a great classic sounding, almost house-y feel to it. Wonderful remix, better than the original
Es una canción que pocos puedan superar la mejor historia de amor cantada y vaia composición musical y artística jamás escrita impresionante

When he got his first record contract they wanted to change his name to benny santini. ...Chris said no.....hence the album....whatever happened to benny santini.

His father was a Italian immigrant.

He does not sound Mediterranean to me, he sounds like an Englishman trying to sound American. He is good though.
