This video was honestly a huge help. The instructions are limited and don't say much about the different bolts included when using a 6 post, but I noticed that the first bolt I put in was longer than the rest, so it didn't take long to figure out. Thanks a ton for the walkthrough!
It was. I feel you on the assembly alone operations. I recently assembled a 30’ long rogue monster lite rig in the racked configuration all by my lonesome.
I put together my first rack ever all alone. Rogue rm4 in a garage, the day after Christmas, in northeast Ohio with cold temperatures and snow everywhere. I was so excited I attempted it myself and did it. Got it for Xmas. It arrived Xmas eve lol. The rogue name plate was the hardest part. Thing is heavy as hell
@@TheKurtlocker Did either of you attach nameplate while rack upright, or while it was on the ground? I have a 108" RM6 and thinking about how to attach the heavy name plate.
How u doing brotha? Iam debating between the rm3 30" or the rm4 to drop in my standalone Rhino to save a little bit of space in my garage gym. Is the rm4 41 or 49" depth?? Also is there any advantage of dropping in rhino inside a rack besides saving some space?? I don't need a lat pull down, I already own a selectorized lat pull down machine and a selectorized functional trainer too to do cable exercises. Anyways anily advice would help. Thank u😊
Measurements are on Rogue's website. The advantage of dropping in the rack is the ability to use the uprights to use a bar or pull-up bar and the Rhino simultaneously. It also looks cool
3/8” lag screws. It was a few mixed length screws ranging from 1.5-2” in length. Buy them to go through a couple layers. We didn’t buy anything new for the platform build.
Another awesome video, Kurt. Thanks for producing it and the tips on assembly and layout of the various accessories of the RM-6. I am trying to convince myself to upgrade from the RML 490 in order to get enough height to do overhead and hanging movements inside of a rack. It seems 90 inches isn't enough height for me. The other decision is black versus red. My life seems to be filled with "luxury" problems.
Those are nice “problems” to have though. It would be cool if the monster lite line got as much love as the monster line...imo it’s a better hole design
@@TheKurtlocker The monster lite is an awesome rack. I have no complaints. The hole design and hardware is more than adequate and I am not looking forward to replacing my accessories.
@@carrickdubya4765 9 feet is 108 inches. You will have no clearance. I am 6'03" and the 100 inch is plenty. I've used 108 racks at a gym and I had to use a box to get to the bar to do things like hanging leg raises with straps, then kicking the box or stool away, then reaching for it with my feet to get down. I think 108 is too high. Also, you need to think about the space above the rack. Bottom line, if you go Rogue, you are good. I have had the RML and now have an RM6. An RM4 or RM3 is fine. I think you get more stability with a wider 4 than with a 3. If you go with a 3, you had better plan on bolting it to the floor. Also, the rack weighs more than 400 pounds. Add the weight of your bars, plates, dumbbells and toys, and you should be on reinforced concrete. I think my set up has grown to between 4,000 and 5,000 pounds.
Awesome setup and great video! I’m waiting for my RM3 to arrive and I’m trying to plan out my platform in the meantime. What was the thickness of your platform. I notice it’s 3 sheets that you have but what is the exact thickness of each sheet? Also do you think I could get away with just two sheets? I plan on using band pegs and I don’t want my rack tipping over as well as I’m hoping to deadlift inside the rack so I’m gonna use a similar technique like you did with those two narrow sheets you have on both ends but instead I plan to make them just a bit wider to accommodate the plates for deadlifting.
It's really cute and funny watching your kiddos trying to help and the other one just zipping back and forth on fast motion.. incredible gym!! How big and how high is the garage?
Thank you so much. The garage is 20x40 and has 8' ceilings in the front and vaulted ceilings in the back. The vaulted ceilings are up to 20ish feet tall at the peak
@@TheKurtlocker hey bro thank you so much about your advice on expanding my rm-4... I don't know if you remember but I asked you a couple of questions on how to turn my rm-4 into a rm-6.. I called like you said and rogue totally helped me out and now I have a rm-6 rack
Great video as always. Curious to know if the rack was shipped freight or UPS ground. I've been hearing lately that Rogue has gone away from freight shipments and I'll be damned if I'm placing any more large orders with them if everything is going to ship ground. Ground shipments with large/heavy metal products is a recipe for easily damaged products. Fortunately all of my previous orders from Rogue always came on pallets. Thanks for all the continued great content you provide!
@@TheKurtlocker i did the same thing with my monster RM3 for the same reason. Was begining to feel left out. Dont see too many people opt out of the name plate.
Thanks. It looks like both Lowes and Home depot dont carry that size in their stores anymore. However Harbor Freight sells an 8pc Socket jumbo set that goes up to 1.5 inches (they don't sell it individually), then you'll have to get a ratchet (which they have). I then bought an adjustable wrench that also goes to 1.5inches, which was cheaper than doing the above twice. Hopefully this helps anyone else.
The garage in this video is a modified 2 car. It used to be about 24 wide by 20 deep and was extended with an addition. The biggest hurdle for garage gyms and the RM6 will likely be ceiling and rack heights.
@@TheKurtlocker The ceiling is around 15 feet tall in the house, so no worries there. My wife wants to park her car on the other side. Think the RM6 would fit in a garage with similar dimensions to yours? Can't go measure myself as people are living in the house.
Not sure why you have the fat and skinny pull-up bar vertical? You are unable to use the fat bar. I think should have been horizontal so you can choose which bar you want to use.
*correction. There is a fat bar high up in the back of the rack. I remember this discussion occurring during the assembly and they are opposite of each other.
We put it that way because there is a shorter athlete that trains there. There is a fat bar available up high and a skinny bar down low for the shorter guys and gals.

3/8" lag anchors

Awesome videos. What is the go to workout playlist?
Today was a mix of The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and some Eminem.
How do the front pull up bars work? They aren’t meant to be mounted horizontally?
They can be mounted as desired by the owner. We wanted a lower option for some of that shorter athletes so we used it vertically.
The wrench bit was funny
We all kind of face palmed and then quickly blamed it on each other.
