Great video! Thanks for the shout out Jason! Hope to see everyone there! Have some old timers coming with speed parts that have been tucked away for a LONG time! Should be awesome!
It's a sad day, not many people like to repair their car's, they would sooner buy,a new one because it's too expensive to get repaired, some nice rigs, going to scrap, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Three major factors: 1)Land value. 2 ) EPA laws and codes. 3) When was the last time a part was actually purchased from some of these cars? Extremely tough to watch as I factor in Chuck doing this 50 years.
I went right before they closed thanks to seeing your videos. I managed to save a couple older tailgates, door panels, and find a bumper for my truck. It was a bummer that they were closing but neat seeing everything before it got crushed.
Right! That's what I told the owner but he didn't see it , because he didn't have any online activity or anything. He was old fashion with communication...
enjoy your channell . good luck with the games . we are looking forward to all the games . we wish you great health and a safe year we are in south east ontario canada
The problem with these junkyards is alot of owners think they have a goldmine in parts and cars but in reality these cars are so far gone and stripped they aren't worth the $$$$$ that the owners think they are worth they've sat on em for too long
For Chuck thus was a great business but recent years brought less business so he decided to retire. For months he sold everything below scrap prices and even giving stuff away...until the end. Was sad to see it happen 😔
I've seen several yards shut down close to me here in okla. I've tried buying whole vehicles, parts, etc and usually fail. The thing that gets under my skin is, I can ask what they are wanting for something, they tell me some sky high price, but then turn around and crush it for a tenth of what they tried to sell it for. I've got told $2000 for a shell, then the crusher gives them $50. People(salvage yards) don't want to save these cars, they just don't care no matter what they claim. Like I've said, I've tried several times and it's always the same. I've gotten sick of trying to save classics. It is stressful, time consuming, and hard on the family. I'm not trying to get cars for free, but when you crush it for pennies on the dollar, it makes no sense to me. Metal prices go up and down constantly. The most I've ever received at a crusher is $650 and that's with a vehicle that was complete with cats and drivetrain. Right now, today's prices are around $125. So if a salvage yard wants top dollar for something that requires much more to restore, it just doesn't make sense. There's still a yard around the corner from me that has several vehicles sitting after the crusher got done. Supposedly they sold the cars but the buyers never picked them up. I've asked the guy several times to buy one. He told me a number and I said really? He claimed he needed the money to give back to the other buyers plus put some in his pocket. I'm sorry but if someone doesn't pick up a vehicle after they bought it 3 years ago, it's fair game. I'll take it off your hands today for "x" amount. Still I get told no.
So sad some cars still had potential. It's like watching many funerals. another historical great place swallowed up by time. Greetings from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍 🦘🐨🪃🪦
Another good vid Jason. It's always a shame to see a boneyard cleared. Especially one with so much vintage stuff. Most of that stuff was moredoor body styles anyway. The rest were just shells that would cost more to save then they're worth. Peace Brother ! 🍺🤛😎👍

Sad man ! In my area about ALL these places are gone since they put in a New shredder about 10 years ago ! When that Moneies gone what u got ? Nothing !
thats should have done long ago, junkyard must be effective and profitable no matter regulations. Look at Europe you will not gona find open cars like this or car junkyards in forest. Big junkyards will buy cars non stop and will sell online, car ussually is stripped fully, and parts loaded in storage already packed. Now in usa such bussiness is done like this you buy cars non stop go to auctions and buy for cheap, buy from people and you sell parts or whole car, you do not crush cars untill price reach sky high than you start crush time, than price drops you stop and live from parts selling or selling cars, even simple tyres are worth money if you have brain how to sell for cheap.rims maybe not, but tyres are all to spec. Every car tyre has tread even old cars tyres can be sold you only need diameter and tyre which not damaged badly. Selling in pairs is great deal. Catalic converters, battery. wires as copper if you start scrapping.
Did someone save the 20s cars and trucks that were left? Sure wish I could have made a trip out there, but thats how it goes. What gets me is people complain about yards like this and then when they are gone, you have what, an empty field to look at.
Oh man, it's a shame who this loader man, every time he puts a car in the crusher he let slips his forks to much, just because he let the chains too loose.... the forks fall too much down because of it and can cause severe damage
Every time these places disappear the more these cars and parts become worth more money, since the plandemic classic cars nearly doubled in price! by 2032, my 1972 Buick Skylark that is worth 15k right now, it will be worth 40k by 2032 ill bet.
