The "tea is fantastic" is from when the Pakistani Viper shot down the Indian Bison, the Bison pilot was able to eject and was captured. Later on a short interview was shot to show that he was being treated fairly in which the captured pilot was interviewed over a cup of tea, so when asked about how was the tea he replied by saying that "the tea is fantastic" and since then it's been a sticking point from the Pakistanis to the Indians. And since there's going to be the eventual comment about it, there's only two independently verified kills from the whole incident. One is the Indian Bison shot down by a Pakistani Viper with presumably an AMRAAM and an Indian helo shot down by friendly fire. The other claims from the event are the Pakistani Vipers shooting down an Indian Flanker and the Indians saying that before the Indian Bison went down it shot down a Pakistani Viper. In case there was confusion the movie is based in India, so Pakistan represents the bad guys. There was a skirmish in Feb 2019 during which an Indian Mig21 was shot down and the pilot captured, and later returned. The IAF also managed to lose an Mi17 to friendly fire. There were counter claims that a PAF F-16 was shot down by an IAF Bison but despite vehement argument both ways no actual proof has emerged. Whatever: Top Gun with dance numbers, what’s not to like?
Just so you know. The terror attack wasn't a from a movie. It was based on an ACTUAL terror attack where a terrorist rammed a van into a convoy and it resulted in 40+ death of our soldiers. India has faced too many of such despicable attacks. Uri and pulwama attacks are an incident every Indian knows about. The movie starts off as extremely top gun like, but thankfully they turn the content into something that only Indians will understand the cultural context of properly. Rest, the dogfights, you're the best judge of that :)
Hey Lemoine and everybody else! I'm from India and I'll explain the entire backstory of the real incident this movie is based on, yet have not gotten like 95% stuff right (I'm disappointed), and would thus like to tell the factual information, at least according to the ACTUAL REPORTs that were released for the public. So, there was a MAJOR terrorist attack in the district of Pulwama in India, on 14 Feb, 2019, which was held by 5 terrorists I believe. Out of them, one was a suicide bomber, and he attached multiple IEDs to his vehicle and drove straight into a transportation bus for the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), a branch of the Indian Army. This led to the death of over 40 personnel in the bus straight away, followed by I believe another casualty in taking down the other 4. Thus, Delhi decided to reply back to this major terrorist attack in specific. Now, a similar SURGICAL STRIKE was done by the Indian Army's Paramilitary Forces in Sept, 2016, which was conducted in response to an earlier terrorist attack in URI within 10 days, which lead to death of 19 personnel. However none of the soldiers gone for the strike lost their life, and one of the 4 teams made to carry out strikes at 7 launch pads (terrorist launchpads) had stayed behind enemy lines for over a whole day and night to assassinate the planner and leader of one of the organisations, which was a success as well. Coming back to the 2019 attack, Delhi decided that the better response this team would be via air strikes. Thus, a whole plan was made and put into action within 2-3 weeks of the attacks. What happened was all sorts of attack aircrafts were put airborne all together from the Air Strips of forward air bases near/towards Pak border. This was a huge scramble to confuse the air radars and missile systems and to distract them. The actual strike teams consisted of MIRAGE 2000s, carrying the strike packages mainly and escorted by a few SU-30 MKIs. There were 2 strike teams, that did deliver the packages successfully and hit their targets of terrorists training centres, deep in Pakistan territory, as far as Islamabad, which is more than half the country from Indian Border. Both the teams were flying low altitude, thus undetected by the radar, at least for the entry. However, on the way back, the teams were chased by a few F16s yet were successfully able to cross the Indian border. This mission was carried out midnight, around 0300hrs, and lead to the death of over 300 terrorists and 0 civilians. In the morning, around 0530hrs, a squadron of 4-5 Pak F16s were sent for a "RESPONSE AIR STRIKE". However, Indian Air Force's WING CMDR. ABHINANDAN VARTHAMAN in his MiG 21 got airborne solo, and made the F16s turn around. He also shot down 2 of the F16s (both being flown by their BEST F16 pilots) before going down to a Pakistani SAM. He was held captive by the Pakistani Air Force and Military in general as a "PoW". Delhi then got in touch with the Pak military and he was released after 2 days of being held captive. From that is where the line "The tea is fantastic" arose. THERE WERE NO HELICOPTERs INVOLVED, and a MiG 21 solo'd a whole PAF Squadron of F16s, and took 2 of them down.
Hope you can realise that this movie is like missing and relaying wrong info of about 90% of the movie and Wombat can see it as a normal bollywood movie. Have a great day guys! Cheers and Support from INDIA!
Indian Mig 21 bison, shot down an F-16 fighter of Pakistan. The Mig was also hit by an incoming A2A missile and the Mig pilot ejected. But unfortunately he was dropped on the Pakistani side of Kashmir (POK). Flight Commander Abhinandan was captured by the Pak Army. But within 24 hours Pak Army was forced to release our pilot with honour. That was the event. And yes it is true that he said "The tea was fantastic" when Pak Army tried to record him.

Hence its more important to be ethical and keep head high across all occasion- Be it peace time or war. We are strong diplomatically or in battle field. Now this is new India which doesnt buy non sense by anyone. Among many recuse operation the recent example our Indian Navy only saw humanity and recused neighbour country nationals, we never saw the color of the National flag . It seems much of Hindi-speaking India switches back and forth to English fairly randomly. (I asked an Indian friend if there's any meaning behind it - like one language is considered more formal or businesslike or something - but she seems to think not.)
In the Hindi film industry, the use of English really rose after economic liberalisation in the 1990s when Indian millennials/Gen Z were first exposed to and wanted western holidays/consumer goods and saw western culture (collectively) as superior to theirs (eg speaking English was viewed as a sign of sophistication). Also FYI, Indian millennials/Gen Z have grown up watching the films of the male and female leads in this film.

None of these claims have been independently verified or substantiated with evidence.

Good on you Gonky.
World experience is vital.
Bro you're fucked up 😂 The "tea is fantastic" thing is bcz a Pakistani F-16 shot down the MIG-21 Bison and caught the pilot and we offered him tea and the Indian pilot said the TEA IS FANTASTIC 😂❤

6:11 you screwed that up... It was the Pakistani viper that shot down indian mig-21,whose pilot was later captured, while in captivity he made the comment "tea was fantastic" about the tea which he was drinking during interrogation. And about the story of mig-21 shooting down a F-16 is only claimed by indian government and is not confirmed.
Such a shame that he's spreading misinformation without cross checking by doing a simple google search. The only confirmed kills from that day are a MiG-21 that was shot down by an F-16, and an Indian helicopter that was shot down due to friendly fire. All other claims are based on no solid evidence. Pakistan has to report its F-16 count to the US regularly anyway lol, pretty sure we would have heard if one was missing.
I understand people from both nations are patriotic but its stupid to see people believe propaganda without any evidence. And a bigger disappointment to see Mover not checking his facts either.

Do a little browsing on this too.
Well tea, coffee, lunch, dinner we have provided their previous era for months for more than ( 93000 army personals who handed their rifles and surrendered in 1971).
Be it 48,65,71,99 or any other occasion.
We hold highest respect to humanity as Indians.Every occasion we have returned their personals back with dignity and also ensured our national integrity.
Be it during pandemic, natural calamities or infrastructural advancement of neighbour nations India has always done its best with good virtues.
This says we believe in goodness, humanity and upkeep of the values.
Hope that makes sense.

That looks amazeballs. Like Gonky says, this is just how they make movies. Have you not watched RRR? best movie of 2023.
@@RaviNayyar I don't think so. Even old movies used English fairly often. Just watched pyasa (1957) , a few days back and even it had some English sections.
British were in India for like a century, you expect Indians would not know a single english word ?
