    The fact that we got Shane is a god send. Some coaches make their teams worse it feels like, meanwhile he certainly makes us better. I really believe Shane will win a Super Bowl as the colts coach, and be here for awhile. Go colts always!

We use our #15 on a top end CB in the draft and sign a veteran safety in FA we should field a better defense this upcoming season. The draft is deep with CB talent in the first two rounds and there are a lot of QB needy teams so fully expect for us to get our CB and WR with the first two picks. @@marvinstheman88 calm down, yes it's good that we have re-signed our own players, but the Colts absolutely need to add a veteran or two at CB or Safety. Hopefully he does it, there's still time, but it's not looking promising.

    • @max1mus540
      @max1mus540 10 місяців тому +1

      @@marvinstheman88I said it already. Give Shane the playmakers he needs and let that man work. We re-sign our own every year, and most years the season ending press conference acknowledges in some way that a known need was not sufficiently addressed.
      I didn’t say he hasn’t done anything- I said he needs to add playmakers. Which he does. He’s drafted four corners of note-three didn’t work and one mostly lost his rookie year to injuries. (Not Ballard’s fault, but also no reason to assume that standing pat is the best way to go.). Record with safeties is better, but not much. The secondary was toasted all year, and mostly for naught because the centerpiece (Brents) barely played and no safety really stepped up. If we couldn’t use the whole defensive playbook because of the youth in the secondary, either change the scheme or change the personnel. Don’t bring everybody back and expect things to magically improve just because of the passage of time.
      I know he’s not finished and there is a lot of time left in the off-season. I also know that the Gilmore signing and some others happened later in free agency. But if past is prologue, there is reason for concern. We have all seen this movie before, and I’m tired of watching it. It’s year 8 and it’s time to see some changes based on all the lessons we keep being told are learned.
      I like Ballard and defend him frequently because his approach mostly mirrors Polian’s. And I actually like the offseason we’ve had so far. But hoarding cap space and stockpiling draft picks for nice (but not great) players isn’t working. And it won’t.

  • @NicholasBailey-pp3id
    @NicholasBailey-pp3id 10 місяців тому +1

    I like Shane and all. Great coach but stagnate Ballard doesn’t ever improve the team. Had ample chances at safety and corner to actually improve this 28th ranked defense. And chose not to. Actually made it worse letting Blackmon walk. Our best safety. It’s ridiculous. We just watch every single other afc south team actually made moves and improved. I have been a fan since 98.
    But this is getting ridiculous. Ballard only ever wants to be a .500 team. Doesn’t make the big boy moves that bring a trophy to the city.
    Has to be a point where he grows a pair. It’s getting old
