    The Best NX1 Settings:
Well you're just gonna have to watch the video to find out.....mwahahahha, see what I did there? :)
So, since I was in the photo mode, adjusting the saturation/contrast/sharpness....and not in the video mode....while shooting the short film my sharpness, contrast, and saturation were all at 0...which resulted in an extremely overly sharp image that produced overly red skin tones. What saved my ass? Or Who Saved my Ass?
Andrew Reid's Samsung NX1 flat image LUT did just that. It worked out great, however with the best Samsung Settings, I would avoid Reid's flat LUT as it is not needed if you have the correct settings in place. :)
Hope you enjoy the video! (minus the image and audio....damn t3i!!!)
    Thanks Guys!!

Yes, Brian, I am assuming that the sharpness at -10 is the setting where the camera isn't adding any processing in the sharpness department. It would not make any sense for Samsung to add some unexpected softness effect Samsung decided to incorporate (who needs a softness effect) when moving the setting from 0 to -10, meaning the value -10 is the most unprocessed picture from the sensor, anything above would be processed sharper and we could do that by ourselves to our needs.
Don't know why but I am using the sharpness at -8 (just in case I use this footage casually without any processing later, to direct online upload, showing to friends etc.). I have found that to my eye, watching my unprocessed test footages, I can see details (meaning data) in the image disappearing when selecting anything higher than -8 (I can see data lost using -7 to 0 and that is just to my eye at the 1440p monitor already, probably we are losing with -8 as well but -8 (for S16-50 lens) is sharp enough for me when looking for details.
People using sharpness at 0 must be watching the pic on their phones or 480p or something to not notice details lost.
I think, with the incorrect sharpness setting one has the most to lose in a pic. Resolution is the key attribute to the pic. Colors (dynamics for grading) are far more subjective to our eyes.

When you show camera setup, put it on a tripod.

Joe Jones thanks for the tip...i couldn't find my 2nd tripod at the time...and thought it'd be funny if I just did it like that. Thx for watching!

NX1 is NOT sharp, it's detailed and that's 2 separate things. Sharpness can not bring details (data) to video. Also never understood why people afraid of details and sharpness in videos. You can always make video softer in post, but you never make those details back, when you make sharpness minus 10.

Tomas Av. it's overly sharp when on the default setting...for cinematic work, you should never have in camera sharpening at all....there isn't a camera that knows how to do it well and that will screw up ur image and will be trouble for you in post...its actually easier for me to sharpen something in post than to soften it for me!
