Why not recruit a sidekick to bug you too! And how about borrowing an NX1 and weighing in on the debate? Psst: since you pretend to be a dummy (unlike the other sophisticates), why not check whether PowerDirector 13 does a half-decent job of supporting h.265 directly. You've already been candid enough to affirm that to grade s-log files in ProRes is a bit of a fool's errand for most folks.
These guys produce hands-down the best camera reviews on UA-cam. Very professional and straight to the point. I admire their commitment. I mean who else is willing to get out there in that freezing cold weather to test a camera. Their videos are dynamic and entertaining. They cover lots of information in a short amount of time. You can tell they know what they are talking about. I like the fact that they cover both, the still and the video aspects of the cameras, but what I like the most is their unbiased opinion. They sell camera gear but they will tell you all the pros and cons; no sugar coating or butt kissing here. I also like MichaelTheMentor, "mega productions", Philip Bloom, Jared Polin, Tony Northrup "over analytical" style, Matt Granger, Dave Dugdale "down to earth" style, Faymus Media, and Digital Rev Tv (this last one for the comedy only).
Most people don't know that Samsung in 2010 created the first APS-C mirrorless camera many months before Sony. Actually Samsung was the third company after Panasonic and Olympus with the micro 4/3 of 2008, that introduced a mirrorless camera for during early 2010. Mirrorless digital cameras for me are those with interchangeable lenses and autofocus. The problem with Samsung was the lenses. Samsung didn't produce fast a large variety of high quality NX mount lenses. Mirrorless cameras are mostly bought by amateur photographers with some experience who demand a variety of good lenses to choose. Otherwise a smartphone is fine and lately premium smartphones offer multiple cameras with ultra wide, wide, normal or telephoto lenses with the use of periscope design. Samsung when saw that its mirrorless cameras wasn't very successful tried the NX mini mirrorless cameras in 2014 and NX mini 2 in 2015. Both cameras had a small 1" sensor and the shortest flange focal distance of all mirrorless cameras. The variety of NX mini mount lenses was even poorer than the APS-C NX mount lenses. The NX-1 of 2014 was the only samsung mirrorless camera with serious quality but it was introduced too late when the domination of Sony and Fujifilm on APS-C mirrorless market was established. The 2015 was the last year Samsung was interested with mirrorless cameras. The only Samsung NX mount mirrorless camera I appreciate very much is the Galaxy NX of 2013 with android system. The first camera and maybe the last with interchangeable lenses and with android operating system. The android of Galaxy NX couldn't connect with wifi to internet and had google play store with plethora of photo and social apps. A really amazing cameras the Samsung Galaxy NX and I regret that I didn't bought it then. I could bought it now but its android version is obsolete.
It's actually feels better when Jordan and Chris has more conversation during the video. Having 10 min for Photographic & 10 for Video shutting feels like a good idea because now a days shutting video are more and more common for everyone. However, I wish Chris does not feel upset. Both you guys are really the best ever. This change just make this channel even better.
Birds will go to your hands. If you are in an area where they are used to feeders, or people standing still with feed in their hands, the birds get used to it. They will then see a still open hand in the same way they see a feeder. I used to do it as a kid a fair bit.
Watching this in 2020 as someone who wasn't big into camera gear at the time (I just took the recommendation of the b&h guy because I was 14 and was using all my savings to buy a camera) this feels like a camera that does most of the things people like about Fuji cameras right now. Solid controls, good build quality, high quality EVFs and a solid stable of native glass. Maybe the fuji cameras look nicer to most people but I'm actually a big fan of the exterior build they were going for with this body
Did you upgrade the firmware of the 85mm lens before using it on the NX1. It may be one of the reasons why the AF performance was sub par as well as the fact that a smaller rather than a larger AF area was selected.
Mid of 2019 now and the NX1 is still very impressive. This could have been the start of a fantastic camera system. Samsung had the technology and the funds back then to become a really big player in the mirrorless market. Too bad that they quit building 'real' cameras.
I know this has nothing to do with the reviewd camera, but i love the grading of this video. Great handling of shadows and highlights in very difficult lighting situations!
Hi Chris! Does the NX-1 not have the same 3-inch Super AMOLED touch panel used on the NX30? But unlike the NX30's fully-articulating mechanism, the NX1's just tilts, up to 90 degrees up and 45 degrees down..
5:30 absolutely, I noticed that right away testing autofocus in a 100W lighted room. sometimes the AF simply doesn't seem to function or you have to refocus, has there been any firmware update tot his by any chance? by the way I do love the NX1
thanks for posting these in 4K. I have the new iMac and the video looks brilliant on the 5K screen. The biggest benefit is that I can count the individual gray hairs on Chris's head more accurately!!!!! 219 BTW ;-P
Maybe its a bit weird comparison but price wise I'm considering Samsung NX-30 (with 2 lenses) vs Lumix Fz-1000 vs Sony RX-10 as my travel photo/video kit ... What would be your advise ?
How was this camera not more popular. Blows my mind. Now there not even making cameras anymore. This is a hell of a camera. Ahead of it's time. I'm so confused
I really hope Samsung beats the brand prejudice that it has around it. This seems like a really great camera, and I wish there was more support to the nx system from other manufacturers. I wish you guys would have done a better AF tracking test. Maybe a nx1 vs DSLR video is coming soon ?
Finally a review of the NX1, I always had a soft spot for the NX line of camera's. I never was completely satisfied with Sony's styling and wanted them to make a camera like this. Don't get me wrong Sony is wonderful but I think Samsung is getting some stuff right, like available lenses, SLR design, touch screen, and the menu system. However, Sony of course has a full frame sensor but I was never fully on board with the design or feel in my large hands. Plus the lenses are bigger and not all that available. I currently have a GH3 which is great but I am a little jealous of having a larger sensor sometimes. Maybe I will get a NEX6 to fulfill my APSC fantasy.
Could you guys do an updated review for the video features after the new firmware updates? I've heard it turns this camera into an awesome video performer.
An episode taking a look at the recent major firmware updates for some of the more noteworthy cameras on the market such as the Samsung NX1 is a very realistic possibility in the near future. - Levi @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV I know it's been a while but it'd be nice if you can have another look at the autofocus after the latest firmware update. Tony Northrup (yt channel) has talked about how amazing the autofocus is on the NX1. Is that just for video?
Just out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to convert the H265 files? I'm really highly contemplating buying this camera but video editing is something i absolutely love doing so waiting a long time for it to convert might be a hassle.
Great review, love it. Did you use a DJI ronin or stabilized the video in post from 13:42- 14:36 ?also since video is a big part now can you review the URSA.
That was indeed the Ronin! I'm focusing on the Sony FS7 before tackling any other video cameras right now. I've had issues with Blackmagic cameras, so the URSA currently isn't at the top of my pile. Jordan @ TCSTV
Nice review, although looking at the noise comparison with the K-3 there seemed to be more detail in the Pentax image, in the leather grip in particular.. it this an issue with the youtube video compression?
Great review, I would like to hear how it works with Sammy's 18-200 for shooting video etc. I understand that lens has a voice coil focus drive to operate silently.
LOL, loved the F-bomb. Excellent review. Sounds like it's a camera to be taken very seriously, and if it is, many of the software gripes you voth have could be taken care of - maybe even the lens mount conversions too. The AF may be a firmware update away from improved reliability, but honestly, that's where the mirrorless cameras have always lagged behind their elder dSLRs. Not having a dedicated autofocusing sensor here could mean it never achieves the effectiveness of say 7D2. I shot a low light concert last night with my 7D2 and it was absolutely impressive in performance. That's where I see the benefits to the dSLR, but it's painfully obvious it's been left behind in the image quality department. I guess we can say Samsung is a real heavy contender in this market now and that's great. Great job. Were the ISO test images processed RAW or JPEG? They seemed JPEG to me and I never consider them as a credible format for image comparison. Still, incredible sharpness!!
The more competition - the better; advances in the next couple of years will be awesome I expect. Samsung leads in some areas trails in others as do the rest. Within ten years advances will blow us away but nowhere near perfect yet. BTW you guys communicate amazingly.
Nice video guys! Would it be possible to look at the original files for some of your darker shots? I'd love to have a close look at the ISO performance of this beast.
i am not gonna lie, the most interesting thing about this review is how they got a bird on Chris's hand... how did you do it? like the camera was fine but the bird caught my attention the most lol
wow I have been waiting for this review, and after watching it I am still excited about this camera, the image quality really seems amazing, the best of any apsc camera out there, and it sounds like with the new 16/50 f2 to 2.8 it focuses fast, and it seemed to track really well in video also, but I still wish you did more focusing test in this review, i'm surprised that the 16/50 f2 to f2.8 isn't being talked about more, it seems like it's the only one of it's kind, and from what you say its very sharp, If I was going to say a down side about the NX1, it would be the lack of a FULLY articulating screen, but at least it is touch, unlike the Sony A7 series of cameras, and being someone who is not experienced on the video side, it makes me a little intimidated when jordan says it's hard to work with, or hard in post, because if its hard for him, then what would it be for me, but other than that, this camera seems like it hit the ball out of the park, or atleast very close to a home run, and it really shows how behind Canon is with there sensor technology, I know the 7Dll focus system is top notch, but unfortunately they put it in a brick of a camera with no articulating touch screen, no 4k, no wifi, and a sensor that doesn't come close to this NX1, anyway after this review I am still not sure about the focusing system, so I would like to see some more detailed testing of the focus system, but overall a nice review
I would also like to see a full comparison to pro DSLR, I think the issue with the AF system is strange, if you look at other reviews they don't report anything like that . I think it is a firmware issue with the lens, because since I updated the firmware on my 50-200 the AF became much faster for some reason. I am just gonna wait for more detailed review before making a decision
aloha......... very interesting... like your shooting & editing style... very up front & no fancy/smancy effects that would deter frm content.... keep up the good work....
dear Chris and Jordan, welldone! very nice analysis. pls let me know about the problem for AF as you mentioned. also, did you check photos's qualities on paper after printing out? (the resolutions are acceptable as well as showing in Amoled screen?)
Fantastic video guys, and a VERY interesting camera subject to boot! It really looks like it has potential to become a great "all-in-one" camera option. Jordan, did you intend to have so much depth of field in the first shot and the shot at 2:07, or was it a situation of lacking sufficient levels of ND? #2) What lenses did you use on the GH4 for this, the image quality was really great. Thanks for restoring my faith in my trusty GH4! Haha #3) Did Chris have the NX1 on the Ronin for your walk and talk segment? It was really super smooth, and I wasn't sure how much of that was due to the stabilization qualities of the camera/lens(?), or whether it could almost all be down to the skill of Chris and the awesomeness of the camera stabilizer...
Great review! Just one question about the Samsung NX1. Will a future firmware update enable smooth, cinematic focus changes while shooting video? I recently purchased a Samsung NX1 and the 16-50mm f/2-2.8 lens to test. I believe the NX1 is a better camera than anything available from Canon. I am testing it with an eye to buying 3 bodies and several lenses. There is currently only one small problem preventing me from moving forward. I shoot TV commercials and stills for ad agencies. While shooting video with the NX1 camera in auto focus mode I touch the screen on the face of the person speaking. When that person is done and another person starts to speak I touch their face. Everything works great except that the focus changes so quickly that it is jarring to watch. Unusable unfortunately. My suggestion is to have Samsung's digital imaging software engineers test the Canon 70d along side the NX1. I know the Samsung NX1 has the processing power to do anything the Canon 70D can do. The 70D easily creates usable video by slowly (relative to the NX1) and smoothly changing the focus position without any hunting as it achieves final focus. The effect is similar in experience to watching a feature film. As far as the image quality, resolution, size, weight, wireless connectivity, feature set and handling of the NX1, it seems just about perfect to me. My numerous tests show the Samsung NX1 using h.265 codec captures noticeably better quality video than the 70D All-I codec with less than 1/9 the file size! I can convert the Samsung h.265 1080p to ProRes 422 almost as quickly as the conversion from Canon's All-I to ProRes 422. The still photos are sharper and in my opinion superior to the Canon 1D, 5D Mk II, and 70D cameras. At least up to iso 800 which is all I've tested so far. When I say sharper I mean NX1 photos seem twice as sharp as the 70D. In pursuit of sharpness I have very carefully calibrated back focus for four L series lenses on my 70D. After using follow-focus rigs for years I will never go back to that. Touch screen combined with auto following facial recognition for video focus allows a very high percentage of good takes. Lens change - no problem! I love the Samsung NX1camera. I really, really want it to work for my use. It breaks my heart to think of returning it to B&H Photo. Unfortunately I can't use it for delivering pro video with the way I want to do focus. Please tell me that some future firmware update will enable smooth, cinematic focus changes while shooting video! btw- Continuous autofocus is pretty darn good. I only falls apart if there is significant distance between the focus points selected by touch during video shooting.
Those are the fantastic Heat 3 Smart Gloves! www.thecamerastore.com/7509-Heat-3-Smart-Gloves.aspx We'll be doing a quick video walkthrough soon to show why they're so brilliant!
Great to see Samsung have done a mostly excellent job with this camera, hopefully they can improve the AF more with some firmware tweaks aswell. Really interested to see how the 4K market plays out with this new contender.
Hi, did you guys Upgrade the firmware on the NX1 to 1.01? Did you upgrade the 85mm. To the latest firmware, which I believe is 1.12? Which is designed to improve focus with this new camera? If you didn't you may have to redo the review to be fair and honest. I have the NX1 and have perfect AF in near dark conditions. Sincerely, Mike P from DPReview
Those are good points but using the 85 1.4 in the way they did wasn't the fairest test of the cameras auto focus system. I just updated my 85 1.4 lens firmware and I do believe it's made a difference using it with my NX30.
Firmware was 1.01. I'm not sure what the firmware on the 85mm F1.4 is, but it was a review sample sent from Samsung, so I would be shocked if it wasn't current firmware. Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV Thanks for getting back... Do you think H.265 will be supported fairly quickly by all the NLEs. Such a blanket question and who knows just wanted your opinion. Because if thats not around the corner I cant see people using this as a main camera.
***** Adobe will have likely been on to it months ago, but I could see Apple dragging their FCPX backsides - why do Samsung a favour? Can't help thinking that this camera is six months to a year too soon (for videographers).
will samsung cell phones like the note4 takes amazing photos would. love to see you guys do a. full review of what you can do with a high end camera on a smartphone like a. note4
Is it possible to take photos absolutely quiet? The model I tried still has a electronic shutter sound. For me being able to take photos absolutely quiet is a big plus. Theatre, delicate music etc.
so are you saying the time to switch over to mirrorless is coming ? i'm using a Canon 550D right now and plan to upgrade to a Nikon D5200-5300, i haven't seen any mirrorless camera that even comes close to the dynamic range and lens choice that has, for the same price anyway.
I would like to know whether the nx1 works well with old nx lenses. You slapped the 85mm on there and didn't like the AF in low light. Do you think it is poor with all the glass?
Thank for the review guys! I have been a Sony Guy for some years now and have been looking closely at their newest Mirror-less offerings. I find the lack of GPS notable in an otherwise feature rich offering. That said I've started looking around and the NX1 has caught my eye. They mention that GPS geotagging can be added via a blue tooth enabled Smart device. My question is does this work in remote locations (Africa/South America etc) and how much of a drain is on the device and camera batteries as charging in remote locations can also be challenging?
I have this camera still for photography. It's fun to see most of the points discussed i experience with this model. However, Sports with the af system is a nightmare. I was shooting as a volunteer today at a triathlon in my home city. And so many of the pictures were out of focused i was seriously shocked. Never had it that bad. However, still got some nice shots though. But i love this camera as a stills, landscape, macro photography etc. It does a great job with most of the things you throw at it. which is great. But i do miss the quicker focusing system when it comes to wildlife. I am thinking about switching my NX30 around for a Pentax K-S2 for wildlife/sports. I am very sure it will compete much better focusing wise. and use my NX1 for the other jazz that i do.
Watching this again in 2018. Sad thing they stopped developing this promising(back then) system
Watching in 2020 and I agree. I was very interested in these cameras and they're still interesting.
@Epic Rhino Films Agreed. I want to get my hands on one of these cameras, just to play with. I wish Samsung would get back into the camera market.
Ha! I started laughing when I saw my tweet appear on the video. Thanks for a great review Chris and Jordan.

Hope to hear your opinions on the NX1 Dave Dugdale
cheatingthesystem21 does Dave Dugdale review pre-productions camera? I really liked his GH4 and A7s through review, hope he'll do the same with NX1.
eidrag I'm not sure, but his GH4 review is a major reason that I have one
cheatingthesystem21 and he even show how his workflow when using camera, really helps there.
Wow, sounds like this camera was really ahead of its time.
Most underrated camera of the decade.
looking back at this from 2023, pretty amazing they did this in 2014!
2014 wasn’t that long ago

This is why I love your reviews. They are always honest, objective and doesn't give in to the hype. :)

I'm really excited about Samsung's next round of incarnations, it seems like they are almost there. Any guesses what the releases will be in 2016?
they quit from what i heard
I definitely like this style of review. Best if you guys continue this going forward.
how did you get the bird to sit on your hand at about 8:50?
Jordan is secretly a bird.
Birds will go to your hands. If you are in an area where they are used to feeders, or people standing still with feed in their hands, the birds get used to it. They will then see a still open hand in the same way they see a feeder.
I used to do it as a kid a fair bit.
Chikadees are ridiculously friendly. Have some bird seed and patience.
Thanks Rob Elliott and QuickQuips .
Thanks Le Monarque and ***** for some fun answers. :)
These guys did a great, clear, and thorough review of the Samsung NX1.

Is that a common thing for birds to just fly into your hands like that in Canada? That is cool.
Really interesting to see how the video files will act out when I try heavy grading on them.
I know this has nothing to do with the reviewd camera, but i love the grading of this video. Great handling of shadows and highlights in very difficult lighting situations!

Jordan @ TCSTV
ahhh we are in 2020 and my pc can't read this video in 4k lol
@13:25 talking about no lens adapters available, not true, Fotodiox makes a Nikon to NX adapter.
Great review. Aliasing better than GH4?
Maybe its a bit weird comparison but price wise I'm considering Samsung NX-30 (with 2 lenses) vs Lumix Fz-1000 vs Sony RX-10 as my travel photo/video kit ...
What would be your advise ?
Best NX1 review yet. Thanks guys!
How was this camera not more popular. Blows my mind. Now there not even making cameras anymore. This is a hell of a camera. Ahead of it's time. I'm so confused
Because most people are smart enough to know lenses are everything. If they built this camera around emount it would have been a huge hit
I really hope Samsung beats the brand prejudice that it has around it. This seems like a really great camera, and I wish there was more support to the nx system from other manufacturers. I wish you guys would have done a better AF tracking test. Maybe a nx1 vs DSLR video is coming soon ?

that bird..l. how?
Can you guys please do a update on this camera? They did a couple of software updates if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the reviews.
Great review guys. Was I the only one who felt nervous when Chris was holding the camera over the pond with no wrist strap?
Nice video guys! Would it be possible to look at the original files for some of your darker shots? I'd love to have a close look at the ISO performance of this beast.
When will H265 be supported by Premiere Pro and similar?
mcol3 4 years later and it is still laggy. Samsung is really ahead of anyone else.
i am not gonna lie, the most interesting thing about this review is how they got a bird on Chris's hand... how did you do it? like the camera was fine but the bird caught my attention the most lol
Same for me, I was amazed. My only interaction with a bird ever is when a seagull shitted on my head in Scotland!
wow I have been waiting for this review, and after watching it I am still excited about this camera, the image quality really seems amazing, the best of any apsc camera out there, and it sounds like with the new 16/50 f2 to 2.8 it focuses fast, and it seemed to track really well in video also, but I still wish you did more focusing test in this review, i'm surprised that the 16/50 f2 to f2.8 isn't being talked about more, it seems like it's the only one of it's kind, and from what you say its very sharp, If I was going to say a down side about the NX1, it would be the lack of a FULLY articulating screen, but at least it is touch, unlike the Sony A7 series of cameras, and being someone who is not experienced on the video side, it makes me a little intimidated when jordan says it's hard to work with, or hard in post, because if its hard for him, then what would it be for me, but other than that, this camera seems like it hit the ball out of the park, or atleast very close to a home run, and it really shows how behind Canon is with there sensor technology, I know the 7Dll focus system is top notch, but unfortunately they put it in a brick of a camera with no articulating touch screen, no 4k, no wifi, and a sensor that doesn't come close to this NX1, anyway after this review I am still not sure about the focusing system, so I would like to see some more detailed testing of the focus system, but overall a nice review
I would also like to see a full comparison to pro DSLR, I think the issue with the AF system is strange, if you look at other reviews they don't report anything like that . I think it is a firmware issue with the lens, because since I updated the firmware on my 50-200 the AF became much faster for some reason. I am just gonna wait for more detailed review before making a decision
tekhiun Maybe they didn't have the custom AF limiter setup correctly. You know it, how you can set the min and max focus distances in-camera?
SwarleyAUS That is true, but i would think these guys know better than that tbh
tekhiun yeah you would think but they didn't even mention it, I think it is definitely a noteworthy feature!
Olympus has a constant f2 zoom and sigma has a constant f1.8 zoom. The samsung is still very impressive though!
Another great video. Any idea when you will get your hands on an A7 mk2?
Today! Review to follow this week.
Jordan @ TCSTV
Is this camera still available in the market here in Canada?
Samsung has released quite a few updates since this review.. I would be curious to see if tcs could do a short update on this camera! Thanks!
The dynamic range has been adressed as has the focus!
aloha.........
very interesting... like your shooting & editing style...
very up front & no fancy/smancy effects that would deter frm content....
keep up the good work....
I am not a great fan of Samsung, but your review show they do a good job. I like the competition, so every camera gets better.
Fantastic, comprehensive review! Thanks guys.
Which camera stabilizer was being used while walking down the street testing the auto-focus?
Great work guys!
This by far my favourite review destination! Thanks
dear Chris and Jordan, welldone! very nice analysis. pls let me know about the problem for AF as you mentioned. also, did you check photos's qualities on paper after printing out? (the resolutions are acceptable as well as showing in Amoled screen?)
Fantastic video guys, and a VERY interesting camera subject to boot! It really looks like it has potential to become a great "all-in-one" camera option.
Jordan, did you intend to have so much depth of field in the first shot and the shot at 2:07, or was it a situation of lacking sufficient levels of ND?
#2) What lenses did you use on the GH4 for this, the image quality was really great. Thanks for restoring my faith in my trusty GH4! Haha
#3) Did Chris have the NX1 on the Ronin for your walk and talk segment?
I only falls apart if there is significant distance between the focus points selected by touch during video shooting.
why film on the GH4 but then only upload in 360p? Is this cos the vid is still processing or something?
4:03 What gloves are those? I live in AB too and I kinda need some
Those are the fantastic Heat 3 Smart Gloves!
www.thecamerastore.com/7509-Heat-3-Smart-Gloves.aspx
We'll be doing a quick video walkthrough soon to show why they're so brilliant!
Can you say me which camera you use to Record this video ?
What's up with the video quality? I don't get the HD option
Give it a few minutes. 4K videos take time to process.
TheCameraStoreTV
I'm getting 4K.
Great review. Any chance you can do an update after all the new firmware? Thanks!
Just out of interest have you tried edius lne for the h265 it supports it?
Just looking at codecs it supports ,might be a better work around
Great to see Samsung have done a mostly excellent job with this camera, hopefully they can improve the AF more with some firmware tweaks aswell. Really interested to see how the 4K market plays out with this new contender.
What kind of gloves are those? They look more interesting than the camera itself
TheCameraStoreTV any chance of you doing a re-review with the new nx1 v1.20 firmware?
Great video, I was wondering if you also tested the long exposure performance as jt was really bad for samsungs previous models.
A video review full of useful information, way to go, guys.
P.S. Video-Jordan FTW!
Very nice review...again! Question: when you comment on the AF performance what lenses and what mode did you use? Thx!
Does it take SIM-card?
Was it just me or was the slow motion detail insane. How would you guys say it compares to the gh4 96fps or A7s 120fps. Thanks
Much better than GH4 96 FPS. Sharper and less aliasing.
Nice review guys. Would you please tell me what brand are those gloves you use? :) Thx
I second this question - what gloves were you guys using?
I also add same question
oh i think i found it "heat 3 glove"!
김한솔 Uf... a bit pricey. But still nice. Putting it into my folder "Future Photostuff". Thank you for searching it ;)
Great review as usual. What really caught my eye however were the glove/mitts that Chris was wearing-they look warm. Who made those?
I always enjoy watching your videos.
it is discontinued ! Why ?
Another very helpful review! Really appreciate the integrity of your reviews! Thank you!!
Are you guys using the Nx1 now to shoot videos or take some stills for your personal usage?
so are you saying the time to switch over to mirrorless is coming ?
i'm using a Canon 550D right now and plan to upgrade to a Nikon D5200-5300, i haven't seen any mirrorless camera that even comes close to the dynamic range and lens choice that has, for the same price anyway.
Did samsung fix all the video recording firmware issues?
guys very nice review ...i just wished you test the autofocus speed for sports ...but probably for the next review?
How was the dynamic range? Anything close to that of the Sony sensor?
Soon time for an updated review after the new heavily updated firmware :-)
Nice. Loved that bird sequence.
Great video guys! The NX1 seems like a really nice camera, possibly more capable for stills than the GH4.
I would like to know whether the nx1 works well with old nx lenses. You slapped the 85mm on there and didn't like the AF in low light. Do you think it is poor with all the glass?
Why does camera manufacturers don't use percent on the battery indicator like this dacade-old camera?
Awesome video guys. I saw the one on the SonyA6300 as well. Question: Jordan, what IS your go2 camera for film within the same kind of budget?
Thank for the review guys! I have been a Sony Guy for some years now and have been looking closely at their newest Mirror-less offerings. I find the lack of GPS notable in an otherwise feature rich offering. That said I've started looking around and the NX1 has caught my eye. They mention that GPS geotagging can be added via a blue tooth enabled Smart device. My question is does this work in remote locations (Africa/South America etc) and how much of a drain is on the device and camera batteries as charging in remote locations can also be challenging?
@TheCameraStoreTV Doesn't Premiere Pro CC 2015 support H.265 in the fall update?
Great review! I have a question, how the high ISO performance in still for this NX-1 compare with the canon eos 7d mark ii?
It's quite a bit better than the 7D MK II. I would say the best low light performance on any APS-C camera.
Jordan @ TCSTV
Can you guys do a review of the Leica x type 113? Thanks!!!
