I've seen Djokovic have some weak matches before, but never at a Grand Slam. However, I don't want to take away from this kid's merits; he absolutely deserves it. Best of luck in the final, you deserve to win after this performance.

Yeh Novak had a slow start, probably due to nerves. But when your opponent plays at a top level from the get go and you haven't gotten yourself in the match, you lose quickly. That's what happened in the first sets.

Novak is human like all of us, he is almost 37, geez, is not like Novak could maintain his level forever. Reaching the semis is still a great achievement, but the young ones are already letting us now that nothing lasts forever.

@@rodrigoandrescoloane We will see in the coming months if it is about age. It was not a good match even at Wimbledon, but after that he won all the competitions in which he participated. I hope it's just a momentary drop in form.

Novak for sure has had weak matches at slams before, it's just that a lot of players don't have the killer instinct, or falter at crucial moments, which allows Novak to regroup in time and claw the victory back. Credit to Sinner for having his foot on the gas pedal for the entire match, so Novak never had any rhythm to settle down.

Sinner is the only player who does NOT make any sounds when he hits the ball, he is the only one who does NOT play mental tricks, who does NOT silence the audience, who does NOT look at the camera, who does NOT put his hands to his ears, when everyone from Djokovic to Alcaraz they do. The only player who respects the public rather than provoking or mistreating them, the only player who plays like an inhuman machine but at the same time more human than everyone else, because he focuses only on his mind and body. We finally have a new star who isn't vulgar and clownish.

Changing of the guard? Just like after he lost Wimbledon final last year and "Alcaraz era" started? Oh please. Sinner played as good as he has done all tournament. Novak shockingly played the worst match of the tournament at the worst time. Clearly not playing at his usual level for most of the match. Even Sinner himself knew. Sinner deserves to win he performed well but this whole 'changing of the guard' and insinuating Novak is finished judging by some of the comments is a joke. This defeat is only going to hurt him and he's going to come back much stronger with vengeance to reclaim the other slams and win more big titles proving those who doubted him for the gazillionth time wrong again. 😂

Jannik deserves absolutely this win, no doubt about it. he played a great AO till now! But also i think, that Nole will come again stronger - this is what he needs (to lose) to be more motivated than he was now on AO for the upcoming tournaments! this is what i told after wimbledon last year, and now again!
For Sinner it will be hard to hold the level now, the whole season - Alcaraz for example last year after wimbledon! So its not about the talent that sinner has, its about the CONTANT - a thats all!
If he can hold it, it will be a very successful year for him - but that will be the biggest effort!

Fed beat nadal at 36 at AO after 6 months off. Fed beat nole at 38 in STRAIGHTS at WTF. Use context. Novak finally is playing some good young players who can actually give him problems. No more tsitsipas, zverev, and medvedev. Those guys are not at sinner and alcaraz's level. At least sinner and alcaraz look to improve their games constantly. I look at tsitsipas, zverev, and medvedev, and i see the exact same game as 4 years ago. I don't know what the hell they do in practice. Look at sinner, this guy was tinkering with his serve during huge tournaments like Wimbledon last year to get free points off his serve. That's a guy who is trying to win at the highest level. Look how the big 3 changed their games every year to improve, This is the real next gen now.

You are absolutely spot on. Djokovic was never properly tested in his mid 30s like Federer by young Djokovic or Nadal at the time.
Not untill the arrival of Sinner and Alcaraz, who are both just different level.
And you could tell - in less than an year Djokovic lost W final to Alcaraz and 3 times to Sinner.
If Sinner and Alcaraz have emerged few years earlier Djokovic era would have ended much earlier. In this he was much luckier than Federer.
Sinner and Alcaraz will be future No 1 and 2. No doubt about that.

Every hope that Sinner and the other young players will be great. But writing about the changing of tne guard is ridicoulus. Djokovic made the difference for 15 years and he's still the n 1. You have to write about everything every day. It works like this. But we'd to wait at least two or three years to write about a change of the guard instead of a merely decline of the only guard
