  • We've been excited to see this place! Our first leg of the visit here was to the famous "wall of bones" known as the Quarry Exhibit Hall. This is an amazing display of dinosaur bones still located inside the side of a mountain that has been covered by a building to preserve, protect and allow folks to visit. We'll also be taking on the nearby fossil discovery hiking trail and also a visit to the Colorado side of the monument.

Thank you, for showing the plaque @4:38.
It's not just showing it but getting an in person commentary. I wish you would show more of these interesting signs and descriptions. A lot of us came here from your machining videos and are engineering/information nerds at heart. The National Park Service does a fantastic job creating those infographics. You should show them off more.
    Keep it up!

Triceratops. Huge dino fan. Back in 72ish I don't recall there being a railing in front of the wall. They called out a young kid from the tour to stand next to a 3' tall leg bone, I was only a foot or so taller than it. Thanks for the memory, I'll have to go through the folk's photo album again. In addition my mom to sculpting several dinos from clay that I played with forever, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry had injection machines which made a few models. I also had the Aurora Prehistoric Scenes models which my artistic mother realistically painted. Of course the triceratops which fought with the allosaurs all the time, the Trex, the cave, cave man, sabretooth cat, tar pit trap. If you ever get out to LA, visit the tar pits.

I loved that place when I visited. They would not let us drive up to the top though. They had little shuttle carts that were running up and down. It was pretty busy so maybe not enough parking. Really awesome exhibit. One of the best I've seen.

Abby… after I left the shed, I went into the park some more and went hiking off trail…with my Camera. I found Half of a Skull that had washed out of the hillside. I geo tagged and photo tagged it and took it into the Rangers Office.

Glad you made it to Dinosaur. Since you dropped the trailer I hope you went on the driving tour that goes east from the visitors center to the Green River. Beautiful views. Also, I don't know if your truck is 4x4, but if so take the trip to Echo Park (no trailer, dry weather only). Beautiful views driving through a canyon to Steamboat Rock, which is the convergence of the Green and Yampa Rivers. The road in is designated for high clearance vehicles only, but I drove it just fine in a completely stock half ton GMC 4x4. It was worth the drive.

Yes we saw that road but didn’t take the drive. After the long ride out to the point and hike, we were ready to relax for the day.
