It's nice that most grocery stores have all their crackers, chips, & cookies in one or two aisles. I never go down those aisles so I'm not tempted. I'm well acquainted with the produce section, though.
I only go down the bean aisle (in my grocery store it also includes ethnic foods so my soy sauce, rice vinegar, tortillas, and salsa are there as well) I sometimes go down the aisle with the pasta and canned tomatoes. Then we have the aisle with the organic foods where I get my tea and oats, and sometimes a plant based yogurt. Other than that I stick to the produce aisle and the frozen fruits and veggies!
Thanks for all the great info. Saving some of the evenings food for breakfast, eat cold or microwave, is a great option and fast. I have stumbled on Ezekiel no salt added crunchy cereal. I need the fiber, all sprouted grains, and beans. No flour, add some frozen blueberries and soy milk, and I'm good for hours.
Straight to the point re: intuitive eating, most of us are food addicts and remain so even after we've lost weight and maintained our ideal weight for a while, given the chance, we'll tend to overeat rather than eat in moderation, and this is where low calorie-density foods really help, and they're delicious!
Once I got it down, the single most helpful change I made is to never bring anything into the house I shouldn't eat! For me there is no moderation... if a temptation is there, I WILL destroy it! I really feel for people who have to share their space with uncooperative, un-like-minded people. I do the shopping and I'm a real "beetch" about not buying crap foods, but if DH wants something I won't buy, he certainly welcome to have it. But.... he goes OUT to eat it! It may sound selfish, but my life literally depends on it, and so does his. Sadly he lost a leg to intractable diabetes many years ago, but after this gestapo decided WE had to try going WFPB, he is no longer diabetic!
Thanks for saying this..I'm type 2..I learned about this a year..I went from A1C 14..almost in a coma....my daily blood sugar was 475..I was in the ICU..after doing this diet, I've lost 50pds,gone off insulin,,A1C..Down to 6..it's a miracle..please try this diet it a blessing from God..I've never eaten so much in my life..lol..I'm always full
I am Type 1 diabetic. Since going WFPB in January I have lost 12 lbs, and my cholesterol went from 298 to 198, My A1C went from 7.2 to 6.7. Both are still a little high but Im gonna keep working on it! 😉
Absolutely LOVE hearing your thoughts on this. You make it so easy to embrace the WFPB lifestyle. I think I'm going to further simplify my life and order some of your products!
I was essentially eating this way when I discovered Well Your World and have been a fan ever since because of how similar we both eat. I have two minor differences, though, which are: 1) I eat as much fruit as I want and have several handfuls before breakfast, a late-morning snack of an apple, and several more handfuls before dinner (stuff like blueberries and grapes or whatever is on sale that week). 2) I keep a strict eye on my total daily whole-food fat content, keeping it in the neighborhood of 10% of total daily calories. Because of this, I pretty much eat as much as I want. I never count calories, and I never do portion control. And I leave the table pleasantly full for each meal -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
@@WellYourWorld Like I said, "minor differences." I got the impression that you recommend easing up on the fruit a bit, whereas I don't hold back at all. Maybe I misinterpreted that on your end, but it seemed like it was No. 2 on your chart. 😃
Tonite I made your favorite vegan meal from 4 years ago, lol, it's so good with the sliced green olives and avocado slices on top, lots of good veggies and potatoes and filling! Love your recipes.
I love your rants and I'm not taking away from the seriousness of this one but, you are so dang funny Dillion. 😂 Thank you for sharing your videos, your knowledge and your sense of humor. Before I found you a few months ago! I had grown so weary of videos and groups where people had their panties in a wad if you weren't perfect. Sorry, if my expression offended anyone. 🤷♀️
Another awesome video Dillon and yes I prefer the whole plant foods form rather than the ultra processed food version because I feel better and healthier than I did before I became vegan and started watching your inspirational video's. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤️ Dillon & 💗 Reebs.
Great one stop video for true healthy eating. Also, a great encouragement and reminder for those of us who've been eating this way for a while that we've made and are making the right choice.
Thank you! I am especially interested in low cost eating, because I am going out for surgery and will be off for 3 months. I have been watching a lot of "budget Vegan cooking" shows but they tend to be loaded with things I cant eat; peanut butter, flour, sugar, or simply lack enough vegetables. Thank you for this video and I know you have done some but would you consider a video about extra frugal wfpb/wheat/sugar/peanut free cooking? :)
Thanks Dillon’s- loved this video - I’m in Canada - high blood pressure - switching to this SOS styled life - this was a big help - but I sure hope I can buy your products soon here
Starting this lifestyle soon. Been incorporating pieces here and there for years, and then my cholesterol came back high, and my anemia is back too 🤦 liver taking a hit too. So having to use more vegan foods, substitutes, and recipes hitting the ground running 😅
I somewhat disagree about the nuts. Every night I weigh out a specific portion of nuts. 20g walnuts 10 g almonds 5 g pecans 5g pumpkin seeds So I measure out 40 g every day and have it as a late night snack with five dates .
I just did another grocery trip today and the only thing in a pkg was my pasta and milk everything else was fruits and vegs and ive been spending less by eating plant based and i get more. 4 bags todays for 96.00 enough food for 2 weeks
Ive recently started and iam discovering healthy food.i loooove kale spinach sweet potatoes and ive been craving fruits and nuts instead of chips like i used to. I do use sugar in my coffee i will always but iam 95 plant based
Veganism is a philosophy of life. Plant based is a diet/lifestyle option. They are interchangeable in terms of what you eat but very different in essence.
Vegan also extends to not buying leather, suede, wood, silk, etc. not taking part in anything that exploits animals, this imo extends to horse-racing and other events where people's entertainment and profit is put before the animals' wellbeing. I try to do my best but I'm not perfect. Plant-based can be misleading and also mean someone who mainly eats plants, but not exclusively. So some people prefer to use plant-exclusive, it seems a bit long to me, so I say vegan. Vegans are not necessarily whole food vegan, there are plenty of junk food vegans around and they're neither healthy nor very slim. I'd describe myself as whole food vegan who eats whole plant foods
I was wondering if algael oil in omega 3 supplments was something that was okay as far as oils are concerned that can be optimal for a whole-food plant diet since the bioavailability of omegas are not as readily available to maintain brain health at least from what I have read so far. I have been consuming ground flax seed, whole chia seeds, and hemp hearts to have a variety of omegas but it is quite the expense to maintain since I have a strict diet and want to have the best health that I can have and actually afford at this point in time.
Dr. Greger recommends a plant based algae oil DHA supplement, so I take one a day along with my daily flax or chia. The only supplements I need personally is the DHA, D3 and B12. Everyone is different though and your bloodwork should tell you what your diet may be missing.
I keep thinking non-starchy veggies should be switched with whole starches on your food pyramid. Why do you have whole starches as the base? I tend to gain weight if I eat mostly whole starches.
Dylan! We need to find a way to spread this information locally. It may be a little different in your part of town, but this whole city is looking FAT AND SICK. They need your help.
Even us old timer vegans love to hear a beginner’s video, yay!
I’m constantly learning from them.
I enjoy your plant rants😂😂🤣🤣 Thanks for the laughter it’s good for the soul🤟🏽

Fruit is good. I personally just like starches more and eat more of those. But no reason to hold back on whole fruit.
Plantrant💯
The good stuff at the food stores are - keeping away from the aisles

Straight talk fact. I'm now subscribed. Great job
I’m a new vegan. Meal prep has helped me tremendously. And I’m getting good at it. I’m having a hard time with mushrooms though 😊
Thank you for ALL you do! Means a lot, helps so much!
I also use Hemp seeds in my foods.

It looks very nice sharing😍😍

So true 👍
You are so real, and I love it!
When using Date Syrup and your Date Powder, how much qualifies for one date? ie? a Tablespoon or more?
2 teaspoons of our Date Powder = 1 deglet date
Great! Thank you!

Eating the delicious and savory San Francisco Oats while watching this video! I love eating this way. Thanks Dillon and Reebs!
San Fran Oats are so good
Nothing better then High Carb Low Fat for feeling your best, Carbs FTW! 💪💪
When it comes to dates, medjool in specific, is this looked at in the same way as dried fruit? How many of these should I eat per day?
Excellent information, thank you!
So good to revisit this once in a while!
I travel a lot…. Do you have a video or suggestions for eating this way on the road?
We will make a video on that soon!
Thanks. I needed to hear this.❤
What’s the difference between eating dates and Rasins I am trying to eliminate sugar but only have it in fruits in limited amounts
We discussed this in our hangout yesterday! ua-cam.com/users/live6SrWZnqI9vw
Thank you for your informative videos ❤
Good to know.
Is vegan and plant-base interchangeable?
Veganism is a philosophy of life. Plant based is a diet/lifestyle option. They are interchangeable in terms of what you eat but very different in essence.
Somewhat. Whole Food Plant Based is what Dillion is talking about on his channel.
Plant based can refer to those who plant food the majority of time, vegetarian or vegan. You need to know the context
Vegan also extends to not buying leather, suede, wood, silk, etc. not taking part in anything that exploits animals, this imo extends to horse-racing and other events where people's entertainment and profit is put before the animals' wellbeing. @@mangelwurzel476 Thank you for your reply.
Doesn’t blending a whole food still contain the same amount of fiber? What about tahini?
Thanks😊
🌀Thanks for just simplifying-yes, time is the issue!🌀🌀🌀🌀💛🤗🙌👍🤝✔️

Awesome summary!
Dillon and Reebs totally off topic...we are hoping to move to the Phoenix area in late 2024.....are we going to be shocked by the summer heat?
What do you think of cream of wheat?
The documentary "Forks over Knives" change my life. Check it out. ❤
I love this info!
What's your take on tofu?
We enjoy tofu in moderation. Our calorie density video touches on tofu, ua-cam.com/video/9tL2urnaFHs/v-deo.html
I,m in the UK unaware of your products here.
I keep thinking non-starchy veggies should be switched with whole starches on your food pyramid. Why do you have whole starches as the base? I tend to gain weight if I eat mostly whole starches.
I explain this in the video and they should definitely not be swapped.
Meat, it's a CORPSE..😢😢😢
Never bought the bad foods, 5 weeks
Keep up the good work!
