@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons I recently came across this "When did you leave Heaven" just cruising da tube ,it was Big Bill Broonzy singing. I thought I got ta learn this n sing it to my dear wife. One thing I'm used to the ..I..IV...V...Chords but am I right?.... it seems this tune goes way past that. I've only listened to you for 1st time & this tune once. Discovered you via Google. I love Broonzy's blues. But I'll listen to you on this some more, love the lead in..think Broonzy used that a lot. Please let me know about how many chords on this "heaven" tune" if you kindly would. Thanks I'm going to check other of your lessons, I like your teaching style. & subscribe get some xtras, try ta donate, I'm retired on gov. check so I'll try best I can say ..cuz I'm sure you have expenses & want to show $ appreciation, Thank You. ..PAOLO L.
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Thank you Joe I will do as you suggested. Glad I discovered you......Lovely song...Heard Bob Dylan do this but not as sweetly as it deserves...There's a saying I first heard in spanish kinda goes with this idea...it goes translated....Did it hurt, when you fell from heaven? Any woman would love that line.....well most..Ciao
A really excellent tutorial and a great song that I first stumbled across while watching the film "Eric Clapton & His Rolling Hotel" - although I'm a huge Clapton fan it was a new song to me. No surprise that it was originally a Big Bill Broonzy number as Clapton is a massive fan of his. Thanks for covering this and I'll definitely be checking out your other stuff!
Thanks Dave, I have done quite a few Clapton & blues if you haven’t already checked them. You might like to check my website if you haven’t already much easier to find everything there. Thanks for taking the time to comment much appreciated
Great stuff as ever, Joe. Btw, if you are not gigging and teaching full time, you should consider going for it, even in these turbulent economic times. You have a real talent for both.
I bloody love this song... thanks for the tutorial !

I didn’t know bob Dylan had done a version, I’m guessing it’s not as good as big bills version. Sure is a nice one to sing to the ladies 😉

@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Pokey LaFarge does beautiful rendition of this tune but more in jazzy-folky way
The good thing about these lessons is you give your interpretation of the song too.
