- Underworld performing with Mr C (from The Shamen). Cocoon @ Amnesia, Ibiza August 28th 2009.
Underworld are a true one-off - at home headlining the world’s biggest festivals and events, playing underground techno clubs and warehouses, sound-tracking theatre productions or taking over art galleries, disused shoe shops and Japanese department stores.

Having cemented their place in the ’90s underground techno scene, the group’s definitive breakthrough came in 1996 when their timeless anthem ‘Born Slippy (Nuxx)’ became the soundtrack of a generation after it was featured in the film Trainspotting. The success of that single catapulted the band from the underground into the heart of the mainstream.
The following two decades saw them build on that success while never compromising; selling millions of albums, performing countless sold-out shows, providing scores to productions by Academy Award winning directors Anthony Minghella and Danny Boyle, exhibiting in galleries, and sound-tracking the Opening Ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The critical and commercial success of the band’s Grammy nominated 2016 album ‘Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future’ saw them headline stages at Coachella, Glastonbury and Summer Sonic.
On 1st November 2018, Underworld launched their DRIFT series, which sees the release of new material every week for a year: www.underworldl...

No one would dare to be this raw these days.....except those of us who remember..good on the young uns who hear these beats and get it...😍
Gaz you wanna rock?
Ok...
I remember 🙏🏾
We need this!!!!!!
Ain't nothin' in the world gonna hold us back, apart from shortness of breath, stiff joints and a sense of mature self-consciousness.
These days, I'd be pleased to move any pair of shopping bags without my shoulders giving me stick.
haha you type how i feel.
question for you andrew... in the track boss drum are the lyrics:
"Activate the rhythm that has always been within you?"
or
"You activate the rhythm that has always been within?"
@@DaddyLaser Oh my god - I would *always* have said it was the former, but now, actually thinking about it without the influence of psychotropics (and paying attention)... it's *clearly* the second one: "Youuu" comes *before* "activate the rhythm, the rhythm that has always been within" etc. But, since it's sung as a cadence or a round (just over and over), I think it's meant to 'daisy chain' until the structure isn't essential to the meaning.
But you, sir, are a bona fide genius for even thinking about and raising that!
@@KrillLiberator haha your "stiff joints" inspired me.. at least when we are old we have the pleasure of paying attention as you said.. and taking it all in..
But seriously their lyrics have aged so well.. not many tracks like that around
@@DaddyLaser Yes, their songs were actually about something other than just "whoah, I love you baby" and the usual trite fluff. Some of their instrumentals still bear revisiting too - especially the tracks on 'Different Drum' and the lesser-regarded (but in my onion) excellent 'Hempton Manor'. They could write a seriously good tune back in the day.
But they were never considered 'cool'. Not by a long shot.
@@KrillLiberator nice.. hadn't heard of the Hempton Manor one .. will check it now. cheers
Amazing performance!
Thanks a lot for sharing. =D
The BEST song ever!!! The BEST group ever!!! Anthem of my youth! The Shamen rule!!!
Best best best Mister C can Rap
Yes Broo the greatest......🫶🫶🫶😉👋👋👋👋
F’inb brill. They don’t make them like this anymore!!
genialllllllllllllllll
i am your own personal jesus , Reach Out And Touch Faith , Sky Is The Limit , Heaven on Earth If You Believe , That Right Gotta Move Any Mountain , nothing in the World not gunna hold us Back
Thought Mr C would give a shout out to Will Sin ( RIP) who died after shooting the video for this song
Which are represented to Shamen ? Only Mr C?
Shout out for Ally Cole
That's right, nobody is doing the sequencing and the vocal effects! (Nobody is doing the sequencing and vocal effects!) :/
Love this track in its original form, but this is obviously not The Shamen - just a remaining shadow reminder of what it once was - and I guess the playback aspect of this performance shows it... And Mr C wasn't even the original member to carry it around like this - despite the fact he contributed to the band's most commercial stuff... Personally, I never liked his omnipresent raps - always made it all sound so cheap... Regarding Colin Angus, if I heard correctly, he is forbidden to use The Shamen name for some reason, therefore he is not performing with them anymore...
*****
should bring the band back - especially with all the bs stuff going on now. Again the dance music needs more upbeat today. I hope you can get them all together again and destroy the UK charts. Maybe that is too hard for them to do now. My Challenge would be to top the song "Move any Mountain" make a better song.
***** I will never forget the bombing in my mid the discovery of Boss Drum on channel MTV Europe, that was the only way to watch The Shamen in Spain in 1992. Not being ball but I agree with Mr.C : The Shamen's rock band ( drop/igwt time ) was really little quality, though admittedly experimentation Phorward Ep (1989 ) is a masterpiece of experimental music of that era . People talk a lot but do not know much cross the high quality of the original versions of the band remixed by many Mr.C. Undoubtedly, CGA is a founding member and character with a huge personality , but if Mr. C had not joined the band Colin and Will in 1989, many of those who write here have not ever discovered The Shamen and Richard brought freshness and acid -rave beats the band. Like I told Richard in a forum , I think that almost 20 years after UV , have a nice welcome a review - remix of the classic tracks ( progen / lsi / eb / possible words ... ) for you . Thanks for your music!
Mr C, if you and Colin own the name, heres a formal request- hows about getting it together and give us a tour? The music is too good to let lie. And im speaking as someone who was into The Shamen from the psychedelic days.
The best part of this is from 0:00 to 5:59
Chris Hopcroft LOL
Winning comment
Chris Hopcroft
you are spot on!
LoL
Lol yes it is!
The #1⃣ best part is the lack of drownings while the cameras are rolling‼️🎹🤘🎵🎶🎥
lucky enough to see the shamen on the progeny tour in 1991, ah they were the days young and dumb with real tuuuuuuunes!!!!!!
maddon001 Saw them when uuuuuUtah Saints supported them in Cornwall around the same time. Come on!
1993 The Shamen and Utah Saints were in Finland playing live @ Typpihappo Party, Turku (Ruisrock)
✌😊👍
I saw em at Glastonbury 92
@@ciaranjefferies my dad knew utah saints being from leeds ans them from harragate and that.. Nice lads he said .
this was my favorite song for hunting magic mushrooms - I swear it really helped in finding those little buggers!
lol
I'm 17 and have been brought up listening I this music and I wish I lived in the 90s
technically you did , for like a year maybe :P
Fella I’m 50 if you feel it you were there 💪
I'm kinda a new schooler... Got into the US rave scene (DC area) in 2010 around the rise of dubstep. I'd known enough old heads to pique my interest for the old school tunes, so when leaving the parties behind I explored the history of the scene and music on my own.
That rabbit hole, through the internet, led me from Frankie Bones, to acid, to Madchester, the 2nd Summer of Love... I've been blown away by the cultural renaissance that spanned from the Isles to the Eastern Bloc(I think most Americans have no idea how revolutionary it was across the pond), and coming around to more and more great artists from that era has never let me down, as the last few weeks I've been constantly blasting Everything Everything and Boss Drum.
Seminal work from brilliant artists. I hope to soon hear what both groups had going on in the 80s...
glad to hear you've found a new avenue to explore, the rave scene in the UK evolved at a lightening pace between 88-96, new sounds almost weekly it was mind-blowing to say the least the shamen made some reasonable tracks... good electronica but not really many what I would call rave tracks at all (without sounding snobbish - I do like the shamen - saw them live 3 times too)... keep exploring, there's a massive array of intense rave music here on you-tube... dig in and enjoy
Falla have you found ultrasonic yet?
Altern8
Gosh I'm crying right now...
Proper class!!! I massively regret never seeing the SHAMEN. Please please do another gig!!!
Seen them in 91. Amazing live. 😎
@@briantodd5851 Ace, im glad you enjoyed!
Three 90s bands on my Bucket list, The Shaman, Inspirals and Northside.
Need them to do a gig
@@simonhartley2772 I used to have the inspirals T-shirt MOO. 😂 Northsides Shall we take a trip is still a classic.
Wheres Colin? miss him very much :-(
Still miss Colin 10 years on in 2020
@@QuantumBikehanics- me too☹️
This song still amazing ! I remember when Move Any Mountain started to pass on the MTV. The Shamen was the future and the real Inteligent Dance Music like Underworld still being.
mr.c + underworld + move any mountain = AWESOME ! ! ! ! !
Mr C should take over from Keith Flint in Prodigy.
holy crap, I listened to Boss Drum back in 92
I seen them when they were doing the Phorward Tour back in 88.The influence of Cabaret Voltaire was so obvious on that 10inch ep!
Hello. I saw the Shamen in 92? Not sure of the tour. Eskimos and Egypt were the support. (Utah Saints couldn’t make it) it was one of the most amazing experiences. So good to see this. Albeit 11 years late!
we need more positive music like this.
top drawer
I was there that night rocking up to listen to 'some dj's' without realising that the group that projected me into electronic music at a very young age were playing before me. That night was one of the greatest moments in my life 💗
Good combination, love it. Verry good Rap! It's time to make a good remix of it...
They have had so many remixes already. They released an album encouraging people to make remixes with loads of samples on.
Loved it then & still love it now
Killer sound quality 👌
i love this song. i first heard it on the abc show life goes on with corky. i bought the cd single at cd warehouse in dallas, tx in like ‘91 and i still play it even on my phone, now have a awesome band like underworld cover it with mr c is fn awesome!!!!shamen forever!! lords of the underworld!!
Will The Shamen ever came back - I hope So, no one has that Influence of Psychedelic Dance Music in the late 80´s early 90´s
Great to catch up now and again
Original Shamen ethos

Epic! Mr. C was as good as ever. Made my year!
Brilliant 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 🤣🤣🎶🎶🎶🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃👌✨🎉✨
One of my favorite songs from early 90s!
Mr C sounding like Frank Sidebottom there.
I think Frank was a guest MC on that underground mix they did of Papermashé Head?
the shaman were never as good after the death of will sin. I saw them on the synergy tour 4 or 5 times and they were my fave band since "in gorbachev we trust".
easyease Can you imagine "Arbor Bona, Arbor Mala" with Will's guitar playing?
easyease it's a shame about him
easyease it was terrible when he died the Shamen just disappeared this is one of my favourite songs I was there
I like it,Bring the Shamen back Mr West!
Karl Harper x
My music teacher used to play in the Shamen
Its clips like these that need to be saved forever.. well done Mr C , loved the shamen back then.... Underworld awesome also :) I need a tardis to take me back to 90
in 1991 i had tickets for Synergy show. Gave them to a friend and didn't attend the show. I'm still sad about that these days...Thank God there is UA-cam!!!
Was my ringtone for 10 years, miss the original shamen...
Streets of Rage 2 "Under Logic" = "Move any Mountain" kkkkkk
Mr C was a better rapper than 2 pac and biggie smalls
1989 gone so quick but u know when mr c sings its unique sound comes out..
Larga vida a los Shamen hyperreales en verdad
Now bring in LaToure lol..."People are still having sex"
Good Pairing. I dig both these 'Cats.' Thanks for the upload =)
Good that Mr. C found its way with Underworld and this was a good path
Mr C is like the guru of song - I love listening to this if I need a bit of a lift.
...LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!!!...
This song is called Progen (Land Of Oz) not Move Any Mountain. Both tracks are almost the same.
That was the white lable version name
Wasn't progen the rereleasr and remix I got the 12"
I had danced it 19 summers before, same island, same Club (although in truth it was very pushed in the major club's of the island)
From another angle: ua-cam.com/video/NgZAhsvP94s/v-deo.html
Sooo frigging cool!! :)

Let’s not take everything from underworld…well done to everyone..RESPECT
The guvnor Colin Angus
How high did you have to get Mr c to do this
Man like 'Colin Angus'
Epic
Will The Shamen come back unexpectedly like The KLF? You know what to ask santa for this Christmas.
BANG TO THE BEAT OF THE DRUM!
24 party peolpe (✷‿✷). :-)
Wow, one of the only times the Shamen performed after their breakup in 1999.
I was there :)
you can blame on me if you want but the rap section of Mr C is far too long and noisy and this song would be a far better one with just a couple of short phrases in it. IMHO. sorry
At last something legendary at Ibiza.
The legendary shit happened there over twenty years before this was even recorded
@@billmarsh1971
The original song was from 1990, so you’re saying 1970?
