1: TURN PHONE OFF ASAP
2: Dry off phone with cloth
3: remove sim tray (and battery if possible)
4: set upright against something so water can drain
5: leave it off for at least 2 days. If you need a phone while you wait put your sim card in to an old phone or borrow a spare from a friend

My iPhone 13 fell into deep-ish water and I immediately got it out. Since this fits scenario 2 I should be fine right? Just to be sure I'll keep it off for a bit. Fortunately it seems like the sim is dry. I panicked a bit but thanks for reassuring me!

Bro ur video was great guidance. MY iPhone 14 pro max was in sea water for 19 hours, it's working perfectly.. Yet I decided to keep it for drying. I tried to charge it thru a power bank and there was pop up saying WATER DETECTED WAIT TILL IT DRIES UP... so I'm now waiting hoping all will be well... Iv followed ur advise and opened the Sim tray... Some speaker muffled sound is still there... Will need to wait.. DO NOT USE RICE was a loud reminder from u.. I always thought rice was a solution

I've been freaking out for the last 20 minutes, bc I spilled some tea on the lower right corner right where the speakers are and the sound seemed off (im not even sure if it is in fact affected but my scared brain hears smith :D) and when you said in a couple hours it would be fine and the water that is near the speaker will not get to the phone itself, I felt relief
hi, I think water got into the crack of my phone screen. it turned off and came back on out of nowhere, I was puzzled. while it was on again for maybe 1-2 minutes came back off again and now its flicking on the apple logo and flashing green before turning on and off again. the sim card is still in should I still take out if it's still coming off and on. I haven't been through a water in phone problem before, so I think I possibly ruined the phone.

My Iphone 11 fell on the river when we were swimming but i got it out in less than 5 minutes. It doesn't have any cracks or dents or whatever and it's also less than 2 years old but it got damaged. I'm gonna have it checked tomorrow cos my face id doesn't work anymore and earlier it keeps on boot looping. I know having it fixed is not cheap though. 😔

What if I can’t take out the sim tray
Put it in the toaster oven till it gets to 120 deg Fahrenheit. Take it out and let it sit until room temp again. If still wet - wash, rinse, repeat.

@@12.56AM they always do. I take underwear photos a videos all the time. From iPhone 7 to 12. They work just fine after a couple hours but you can’t plug them for charging until they are dry

There waterproof all you have to do is dry it with a towel. You could throw your iphone in the pool and it will be fine unless it's a old version.

Either way Apple needs to cover for water damage if they’re gonna advertise the phone is water resistant. I have an 11 pro max is fucked up now
they do cover it under apple care+ & the water resistance is only for when you accidentally expose the phone to water, not if you do it on purpose just bc you can’t use your common sense
